Recently purchased a number of items from DD Hammocks, these being an underquilt and a tarp. I've not used the tarp yet but the underquilt is superb and works really well under my hammock keeping me warm. Great service and the purchased items arrived before there quoted delivery date. I will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future

Bought two DD frontline hammocks for a wild camping / kayaking trip on the river Severn with my brother. The hammock’s are easy to set up and tie to a tree with a simple shoe lace knot. Much quicker than pitching a tent and they’re very comfortable. I was a bit cold on one night so I put a ground sheet and blow up sleeping mat underneath in the Velcro pocket which worked well. A great product and would highly recommend to add some fun to a wild camping trip.

Being disabled with arthritis makes it hard to grab stuff but with the tie points not just being rings it's so much easier.

I realised I'd made a mistake with an order the day after I'd placed it. I rang the company and they corrected it for me without any fuss or bother. My updated order was then delivered only 24 hours later.

Ordered the items on Tuesday evening, and the goods were delivered on Thursday morning, so that was the very best service possible.
Along with the goods being of very good quality, at the most reasonable price.

DD Hammocks is a 10/10 company. Not only is their equipment top class but they are great people too.
I broke the whoppie sling on my hammock, my fault, 3 days before planning to go and use it. I asked if an express shipment for a replacement was possible (this is not an option on the site) and they arranged an express shipment for me via email.

They are quick to reply, helpful, and genuinely want their customers to have a great experience.

I have their Jungle hammock, superlight 3x3m tarp, trekking poles, hammock gear sling, hammock underblanket, superlight air mattress, and poncho tarp. All great quality and all have stood up to a variety of outdoor conditions. Also our Scout Group here in Ireland uses DD as our go-to tarp and hammock supplier.

I used a DD tarp on a Land and Wave course, then bought one for use in my new venture ‘Nature Works’. Joe from DD has been incredibly supportive and helpful, and as my venture is growing I’ve just ordered three 2x2 tarps from him. I take boys from deprived backgrounds, at risk of criminal exploitation, into nature along with their key worker to strengthen the bond. The tarps are a great addition to work on their skills, developing self esteem and communication.

Amazingly speedy delivery. Would highly recommend.

I ordered a tarp and pole set, the delivery company didn't deliver so whilst it was still in the system DD hammocks noticed this and sent me out another set with a different delivery service straight away .

I have been dealing with DD Hammocks for a year now for Gravel Bike touring. I have two Frontline set ups with Tarps and Underblankets for me and my son. I also have a lightweight hammock which initially did not arrive. The order was cancelled and a new one sent out straight away. Great response and service every time.

Placed an order for two items at 2pm. They arrived next day. Managed to use the items on a camp last night and they were perfect. Can't recommend enough. My new go to for hammock and tarp equipment.

I purchased the DD SuperLight Tarp in November 2023 and used it several times for hammock camping across the UK over the past year. It performed well in moderate weather conditions, as I had expected for a product of this kind.

However, a few days ago (December 2024), I set up the tarp in my garden for a gathering, and within 30 minutes, one of the corners tore along the stitch line in light wind. The tear followed the stitch line perfectly, which seemed to indicate a potential structural issue. This was particularly disappointing, as I had relied on this product for its advertised durability and versatility.

I contacted DD Hammocks' support team and received a prompt response, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, they stated that the issue was not a manufacturing fault. They explained that a defect of this nature would typically become apparent much sooner, possibly even on first use, if it were due to manufacturing or material failure.

As someone who works in the Supplier Quality field, I disagree with this assessment. Not all faults are immediately evident, especially under varying use conditions. Dismissing this as not being a quality issue felt like an overly simplistic approach. This highlights a need for better diagnostic and investigatory processes in their quality assurance framework.

Additionally, while I understand that the product was just outside the warranty period (by 1.5 months), I would have expected a more thorough investigation or at least a more considered response. Instead, the issue was declined the next working day without further discussion. This left me feeling unsupported as a customer.

For a product marketed as lightweight yet durable, I expected a much longer lifespan under moderate use conditions. A tarp tearing in such a short time raises concerns about how it might perform in harsher outdoor environments. This failure in the safety of my own garden was inconvenient, but had it happened while out in the field, it could have resulted in a far more serious issue, leaving me exposed to the elements and jeopardizing the success of a trip. Durability is not just a matter of convenience but also safety, especially for outdoor enthusiasts who rely on their gear in unpredictable conditions.

Having used similar products from other brands, I’ve found them to be more reliable over comparable periods of use. I would suggest that DD Hammocks review their stitching process and consider offering more flexible warranty policies for edge cases like this.

While the tarp performed well initially, this issue and the lackluster support have left me questioning its overall value. For prospective buyers, it’s worth considering how well this product aligns with your long-term needs and the potential risks of it failing when you need it most.

I’ve generally been happy with the tarp’s performance during the past year, which is why this issue came as such a surprise. I understand that no product is perfect, but I believe there’s an opportunity here for DD Hammocks to strengthen their quality assurance process and support policies for long-term customer satisfaction.
