Knaresborough office poor service and a bit slap dash
Booked a viewing to see a house and they told the seller I had cancelled the appointment which I obviously hadn't . I turn up to view after driving from Leeds and the seller looks confused and tells me what she has been told but kindly shows me around the property anyway, not sure I would trust this outfit again.
Bingley office let down
Arranged for valuer to attend our home, received call that morning saying that valuer had family emergency and could not attend? Having made arrangements to be present not impressed that Dacres Bingley have no contingency plan in cases like this.
First class service from the Ilkley office
First class service from the Ilkley office from start to finish! Thank you Vicki Bradley - could not have asked for a better agent. Professional, thorough, discreet and everything done without any fuss. I can highly recommend Dacres (Ilkley) - I could not have made a better choice!!
Would highly recommend
Would highly recommend. Staff in at the West Park office (thanks Jen and Amie) were very professional, helpful and did exactly what was promised. Throughout the viewing process they kept us up to date, always had a named contact who was prompt to respond to questions. When it came to completing the sale - we had many issues agents in the chain and solicitors, however Jen and Amie chased up, kept us informed and I felt were always working in our best interests.
Not much of a salesperson
Matthew Fox from the Saltaire office came and did a valuation of our home, after we showed interest in one of their properties.
Various comments were made along the lines of "we don't usually sell properties like this... We usually sell more premium", and then valued it £30k+ below other agents we'd had round (at the time of writing, they have 14 pages of properties for sale on their site for less than our sale price). The entire encounter was very dismissive, very condescending, especially considering we were shopping in a "more premium" price bracket.
As it is, we've accepted an offer on our property, after 2 weeks on the market, at asking price, and have had an offer accepted at a Dacre competitor - we had zero interest in considering any more of their properties after that encounter.
Either Matthew had no interest in being there and deliberately low-balled, or he's not that much of an expert in the Saltaire area. Whichever the reason, we would not recommend.
Pateley Bridge - Top service
Alison from Dacre at Pateley Bridge was fantastic with our move. She was proactive in finding us our home by reaching out to us whenever a new property that we could be interested in came on the market, she kept us updated throughout and was always on the ball to make sure the sale went through as quickly as possible always one step ahead with the solicitors and seller. 12 weeks in total for the sale to go through …would definitely recommend Dacre and Alison for your house sale or purchase
Great service from Ian Bradbury at Darce Son & Hartley
Ian B at Darce Son and Hartley was friendly and professional. His reassuring manner, mixed with his knowledge and understanding, gave us complete confidence every step of the way. It’s rare to find someone who truly listens and cares, and Ian went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled for us. I would highly recommend Darce Son and Hartley, especially because of Ian’s outstanding service. Thank you for making a positive buying experience.
Amazing professional service
Absolutely blown away with your amazing service. Seamless from start to finish. I did review the other local estate agents but very impressed with Dacres.
My house went on the market two weeks before Christmas and I accepted an offer first week in January. All the home visits well managed and then the next stages were smooth! We all know it’s stressful anyway but truly with Dacres it wasn’t.
‘’All’ the Baildon team were fantastic but extra thanks go out to Jonathan and the amazing Kelly, always super professional and kept me informed every step of this journey in selling my house. Bless even when I had happy tears in accepting my buyers offer. Thanks Dacres in Baildon and would definitely recommend anyone wanting to sell or buy their house with Dacres. Kelly as you know we will be selling our next house with you guys again shortly. Thank you Dacres 🫶💓
Great response to my concern.
I recently put a review on here regarding a staff member Anita.
I wish to now add that this lady has has acted beyond and above expectations.
She came to our new address and apologised for the day I spoke with her.
She was so kind and brought us a moving in bottle of Prosecco.
Everyone has off days and I think that's what happened as she was so polite and pleasant today.
If this is the service you receive I would definitely recommend this company.
Thanks again,
Dave

Don't make the same mistake 15 others did?
Dacre, Son & Hartley a firm:
NOT TO BE TRUSTED... To PRC,
This says it all, everyone else is to blame, then to add insult to injury - he has the audacity to suggest in his account - apology I, "have been down this route before"!!! This just shows the contempt with which he treats people - I do thank God that we were not involved with them from the moment he failed to advise the house had already been SOLD the day before we were supposed to view it but, failed to tell us until it was toooo late!!! We were on the doorstep.
But, on one point he is right. In my 66 years on this planet I have been down this route before many times - witnessing 1st hand the effect of "cowboy operations" like his destroy other peoples misplaced trust with an operation which is supposed to be there to represent them - and in this case and at least 15 other documented cases FAILED to do so MISERABLY
They ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED - Take it from me you don't want to find out just how inept they really are..
Sold house via Dacres
Sold house via Dacres, not a fast process from them, took ages to upload our home on different websites. Sara was the best, more helpful then anyone else there. We been advised the house will be available on different websites inc: Right move etc, on some websites the house not appeared. also been told we will get shoe cover (never got it). been told we potentially can get 200-215 for the house and once we received the first offer of 195 benn told to accept this as we won't get anything better. Not a great service. Not using Morley service again

A disappointing service
Such a disappointing service from Dacres. Getting to the point of having your home valued is a big thing, especially in the current climate. And having worked hard on making significant improvements to the house, the descriptions received by the valuer were unfair, mostly negative and insulting. There was a lot of talking and very little listening. Realistic and constructively critical comments are one thing, insults are another and there are ways in which you can support and guide a potential vendor without making them feel so uncomfortable and upset in the process. Sadly, this isn't an estate agent I would either recommend or use based on this.
I am being generous with two stars.
And a bit better response than “please give us a call to discuss” might have been helpful. E.g. who do I call? on what number?

Dacres Wetherby office are superb
Dacres Wetherby office are friendly, intelligent, effective and efficient. I would fully recommend. Elaine is a star.
poor customer service, very disappointed
Recently saw a house I wanted to purchase and the estate agent dealing with me was also the vendor associated with 3 other vendors. I was told that my offer was accepted and received confirmation of this. I was advised by the estate agent (vendor) that she and her husband who showed us around the house really wanted us to purchase the house although they had received a higher cash offer. In such a short time I built a good relationship with the estate agent and a couple of days ago she advised me to send all my paperwork over including ID and mortgage offer along with proof of the deposit to secure the house, which was done. Only now have I called back to discuss if there was anything else they needed and the estate agent I had been speaking to ( the vendor) advised her colleague was dealing with my case now, only to find out from her colleague ( the branch manager) that they had decided to accept someone else's offer, (although mine was guaranteed to be accepted) who had offered more and in cash? But they didn’t have the decency to tell me, what’s more, disappointing is the fact the state agent I was dealing with ( the vendor) advised me when I just called someone else was dealing with my case , I think honesty goes a long way and as I said to the branch manager had she of told me this information her self they had accepted another offer I would have not taken as bad, especially when she guaranteed that It was me they wanted to buy the house. When trying to explain this to the branch manager I found him very patronising in explaining the process with his shouting tone of voice and that the estate agent didn’t have time to call me as “ she was too busy trying to clean her desk before 5 pm for her holiday” My gosh that is some level of customer service. Very disappointed.

House purchase in Settle
We've just exchanged contracts on a house purchase in Settle, arranged through Dacres local branch. They've been extremely helpful throughout our whole house-hunting and purchasing process, managing to fit in viewings when we were up in Settle, sometimes at quite short notice. We'd particularly like to mention Andrew, who showed us round several houses, Tom , who responded to email messages when the office wasn't open, Mel, who we spoke to at the beginning, and who let us peer over her shoulder to see the details of a property, and Julia who passed on her local knowledge during our second viewing of the house we're buying. A thoroughly professional approach from all.

Perfect experience
I phoned Dacre son & Hartley to view a property in Giggleswick, it was a pleasure to speak to a helpful, knowledgeable person.
Where do I begin with this sly estate…
Where do I begin with this sly estate agent?
Buying a house is stressful, even more stressful during a time of inflated prices. Fortunately, we were willing to pay 65k over the asking price to secure a house in best and finals on Alwoodley Lane. The first issue was Dacres didn’t send staff around when we sent the first bank to value the property (like other agents do) which is incompetent from their side. HSBC said the property was overvalued and not worth more than £550k (we were trying to pay £615k) Virgin bank said the same. While in the process of trying the third bank, totalling to over £1000 in valuations, Dacres lied about supporting us with the sale, relisted the house and sold to another buyer today behind our back and against written agreement.
We have a 7 month old baby, we’re over £1000 out of pocket and due to leave our place in less than 1 month time.
What a disgusting way to handle a sale.
*EDIT IN RESPONSE TO AGENT*
The statement about my complaint being incorrect is untrue and they are still lying.
If we were told viewings were happening and that the vendors were taking new offers we would not of paid for a third valuation. As stated in my original complaint - We have this in writing that the house was taken off the market. We also have in writing that the vendors from the vendors themselves that no further offers were to be considered until we had done the third valuation. Your secret agenda that was not communicated with us is disgusting.
We have spoken to numerous agents who have said during this particular market they have been sending staff around as banks are resisting inflated prices. Perhaps you should think about this.

I'm both buying a property and selling…
I'm both buying a property and selling a property through Dacres and from the start the experience has been outstanding with excellent communication from Gavin, Sue, Adam and Em! I can't thank them all enough for keeping me regularly up to date, being very honest, fair and balanced in the feedback and getting my property advertised so quickly! Within a day they had 10 viewings and I've had 2 offers already. They have worked the most unsociable hours to help me sell quickly knowing that it is a requirement for the seller of the house I'm looking to buy and have been so flexible in their approach. Customer service at it's best! In all honesty I'd never heard of them before thinking of putting my house on the market, I was given their information through a local Facebook page recommendation - I definitely see why they were recommended! THANK YOU!
