After a 20-year break from cycling, I decided it was time to get back in the saddle through the Bike to Work Scheme. After a quick Google search, I came across Cycle Superstore and headed in, but... See more

Poor service
I brought my father-in-law (who’s over 80 and still cycles regularly) to get his first hybrid e-bike. Unfortunately, the whole experience has been very frustrating.
When I collected the bike, the back brakes were spongy and wouldn’t stop properly, so I had to bring it back to be fixed. They also fitted mudguards, but the front one fell off after only two rides. Not long after, the front brake stopped working completely.
He had also paid for a different set of handlebars, but they weren’t in stock at the time. We were told they would be fitted when the bike was having its first service. At no point were we made aware there would be an additional charge for fitting. When I collected the bike after the service, the handlebar grips had even been put on the wrong way around. On top of that, I later realized they hadn’t given me the old handlebars back, so I had to ring up and will now have to make yet another trip to collect them.
To make matters worse, my father-in-law lives two hours away, so every return visit has been a real inconvenience.
The staff themselves were friendly, but the repeated problems, unexpected costs, and poor attention to detail mean we won’t be back.

Got a really good Felt bike at cycle superstore. The team were extremely helpful in choosing a bike that suited me. The sales assistant was very well informed on each of my options and has a great knowledge of each brand and style- wish I could remember their name to give a shout out!

Lacks leadership and customer service
There appears to be no communication between staff or departments. I had to constantly ring to follow up on several issues.
Dropped the bike in for its first service there was a noise coming from the motor which was not addressed. Had to return the following week which meant a cycle of 65km round trip again.
Very poor customer service, everyone appears enthusiastic but actually nothing gets done .....

Unable to contact this so-called business
I was looking at buying a bike for 5k but wanted to use bike to work scheme to pay for some of the cost. I rang 5 times throughout the day but no answer so I eventually left a message that included my contact details. This was over one week ago. After reading other reviews I don't know how these cowboys are still in business, the only thing I can think of is that they are closed down

Another enjoyable visit
Another enjoyable visit to our favourite store! David from The Cycle Superstore in Tallaght has been amazing - attentively listened to our requirements, patiently supported us as we tried on various bike garments, gave us advice, attended to every ask, even offered us some refreshments as we spent considerable time in the store. Going there feels like getting a special treat - thank you once again for always being there for us!

Initial contact with mick but dealt primarily with Tadhg. Super knowledgeable. Demonstrated all aspects of the bike. Knew about Bosch tracking system, battery removal & charging. My engineer husband very impressed. Deserves a raise.
Contemplating another purchase. Will look for Tadhg’s assistance.

Avoid, terrible customer service
Rang each extension on Thursday the 12th of June to buy a second hand bike at €3500 and not one extension was answered. Did the same on Friday the 13th and after multiple calls, got talking to a staff member who did not really know about the bike in question and suggested I call back the following Monday so I emailed also on Friday but got no answer until Saturday afternoon, only to be told that the bike was sold on Saturday.
16th of June I got a nice email and apology for the lack of service. Which was genuinely appreciated.
I decided to give the store another chance and on the 16th of June I rang multiple times to buy a new bike for €3500 and got no answer so I tried that afternoon again and eventually got talking to a person in sales who knew absolutely nothing about the bike fit or sizing and said nobody on the shop floor was answering them. So internally, it would appear no one is available either.
I followed up with an email and a week later I have not gotten a response but frankly, I don't want to deal with this store and have found another bike store that are happier to assist me and sell me a bike and had the knowledge on bike size, etc.
Really unfortunate to see a store of this size, with a decent online offering, unable to knowledgeably sell you a product on their website or provide proper service.
While I appreciate it's a busy store, it's not a reasonable excuse for being unable to provide customer service.

Not as bad as people say in my experience
I decided to write this because I felt people were really hating on this brand. I decided to go with them for a cycle to work scheme bike and they were very good throughout the whole thing. I will say they use fastway which im not a fan of and they also use the same QR code for every bike so the video was not accurate at all to how the bike I got should be built but a quick youtube search had me building the bike in no time.
I docked it down to 4 stars because of the QR code issue and the fact fastway scared me and also they didnt reply to the last email I sent, also all of the bolts were supposed to be Raleigh branded but they arent infact one is a black plastic thing with a bolt in the middle so im going to have to buy a bolt for it myself to replace it.
But overall a good company, the bike is great so far on the two times I have cycled it and it came quite fast. I would use them again.

12.30 on a Wednesday afternoon and I decided to upgrade my trusty giant tcx bike. I spent 25 minutes in the store and not one of the many staff bothered to even say hello. The bike i wanted was upstairs and to my astonishment an employee ran up the stairs with lunch in hand, looked straight at me and scurried into another room. I left with my 3500 euro and got my bike on the long mile road.....never again.

The perfect bike-box!
Huge thanks to Ciarán and the team at Cycle Superstore! My bike traveled from Melbourne - Dubai - Dublin...and arrived with huge holes in the box. Ciarán found me a box to my exact specifications - whilst I was happily off cycling around Ireland. (The dimensions are significant, as bigger than necessary makes transport much more difficult for a solo traveler.) Ciarán let me know when he'd found the box, and even sent a photo of it, showing a note that read "KEEP ON SHELF". I can now securely pack my bike and get it back to Melbourne, and didn't need to shorten my ride time to go looking for a bike-box! There was no charge for this outstanding service. Top effort, Ciarán and mates, and thanks a million!

AVOID
I bought a bike online and pedals that were advertised for sale alongside the bike. On my first ride approx 3.5 miles the left pedal came out and the thread on the crank was sheared, no damage to the pedals thread?
I emailed the sales & workshop explaining what happened including pictures but had no response. I contacted Sales who say it’s workshop’s responsibility. I forwarded the email with pictures to workshops but work shops don’t answer the phone or reply to emails. HERES THE BEST BIT
I brought the bike to a reputable cycle shop. They explained the crank was made of aluminum while the pedal thread was steel. I found out that STEEL SHREDS ALUMINUM & the steel pedal should not be sold for a bike with aluminum cranks.
The same brand pedals are still being sold by them.
No wonder they’re ignoring me.

Extremely Disappointed – Avoid if You Need a Bike Anytime Soon
I bought a bike here specifically to commute to work, and the experience has been nothing but frustrating. The bike was already assembled, on display, and I even took it for a test ride. I was told I could collect it once the payment went through. But after paying, I was suddenly informed it needs to go through a “servicing” process that could take up to two more weeks.
I had already paid a deposit a week before that, so now they’ve had my money for a week and are asking for two more just to hand over a bike that was supposedly ready. I sold my previous bike thinking this would be a smooth upgrade—now I have nothing to ride and no clear timeline.
To make things worse, I spoke to Mick on the phone and he seemed more interested in ending the call than actually helping. Poor communication, misleading information, and terrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone in a hurry—or anyone who values transparency.
If anyone looking at these reviews would like to get in touch with me and get this problem sorted, I would consider altering my rating.
Dreadful customer service
Dreadful customer service. Zero interest unless they can upsell. Don't go near them.
