My subscription got auto-renewed for $142.71 CAD ! ! !

Criterion Channel just re-subscribed me for another year at $142.71 CAD. If I had known it would cost that much, I would not have agreed to another year. Too many subscription websites refuse to send you a notification before auto-resubscription. THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED!! I normally write down what date a subscription ends or renews. Unfortunately, I had failed to do so for Criterion. Never again. I'm severely disabled and can't work, so I really couldn't afford a new subscription again at $142.71 CAD. This is very depressing for me. I will warn others not to sign up.

Streaming Problems

I am a charter subscriber to Criterion Channel, so I've been using the channel since its inception. When they started, some movies would sometimes lag a bit, but they fixed it eventually & the channel has been good for the last few years. Never any problems.

Howver, since the last few months, let's say towards the end of 2025, movies cut quite often while I'm watching them. This happens even though I've upgraded my internet connection & it's now stable & fast.

Support is done by Vimeo, who takes care of the streaming end of the channel & they say that the problem is on my end, which doesn't make sense since I have no problems streaming with other platforms & can even stream 4k.

It's a shame, because this is my favorite streaming platform. I hope they change streaming host soon, or else I might have to move on from the channel.
