Poor communication
Had some bags stolen on a trip, made the claim January 15th and had the automated email stating I’d be contacted in 10 working days, I chased it up around the 30th of Jan via email and was sent a form telling me to resubmit all the information I had previously sent, to which I responded stating they had had it all. Rang 14 February for and update and was told I’d be contacted by the 28th - nothing, chased on 2 March via email still nothing
Extremely disappointing

Super frustrated
Super fustrated. Used cover for you loads of times given the reviews I have read, now I’m having to deal with a claim myself it’s been so long winded and being fobbed off with different things is starting to get annoying.
Long story short my daughter broke her arm in Disney world Orlando and we was told we needed to fly back home and be seen within 5 days by a surgeon to see if she needed plates or pins put in. This all happened on December 21st and contacted the insurance to obviously cover the cost of the medical bills and we flew back home Christmas Day.
I submitted all claim documents and even the other documents that they asked for 14th of jan. I called on Monday just gone to be told it’s escalated and I will have a response within 2-3 days and I’m sitting here now typing this after being told now I have to wait until 26th!!
super not impressed with any of this and just need to know my outcome as if nothing comes of my claim then I will be perusing other routes to reclaim my costs that my insurance company should uphold.

A simple/convenient shell, for what is a bad company
As you would except when making a claim, it is actually using the awfully reviewed 'Axa-Travel-Insurance'. So be wary before using CoverForYou, as it is a simple/convenient shell, for what is a bad company.
I have made a claim after going through a medical incident abroad. Having not heard anything for a couple weeks, the first contact I get from Axa is that they have suddenly received 'high volumes of claims' so they can't even estimate how long it will be before my claim is even reviewed.
When these incidents abroad happen you, the financial impact is huge, so a slow claim time had a big hit on your life. So I am really disappointed with the service and won't be using it again.

Really disappointing!
We have used Cover for You for our yearly holidays since 2017 and we have never had to make a claim. Unexpectedly in September 2024 my husband was admitted to hospital and we had to cancel our holiday. We submitted our claim online in early September. It's now been 4 months and I have lost count how many times I have telephoned them for an update only to be told "an update will be received soon"! I rang again today to be told our claim had been assessed and a settlement processed but due to an incorrect amount being submitted by them this settlement had now been declined but I would be receiving an update soon!! Really disappointing.

Excellent customer service
This is one of those rare companies these days where you get easy and quick access to a human being. I've had this cover for years and they've always been very easy to deal with and offer excellent customer service. I had to make a claim once and they dealt with it effectively and fast, and a claim is the proof of the pudding when it comes to insurance companies. I keep renewing my policy with them every year. Can recommend them.
Overall poor service and would avoid in the future
Overall poor service was provided since I submitted my claim on 1st November , I have had to chase them numerous times to get update on my claim as they don’t seem to be proactive in reaching out to provide updates. Finally got a resource saying medical expenses won’t be covered when my claim was around being quarantined in the hotel.
Overall, poor communications and would avoid in the future if you have a claim to make.

Always used CoverForYou for car rental insurance at roughly £5/day. Had to submit a claim after a dodgy car rental kept some of my deposit.
Do not ever rent a car with centauro when in spain / portugal. Absolute fraudsters.
Besides several emails back and forth coverforyou paid out without too much push back. Overall. Would recommend.
Submitted a claim for lost baggage on…
Later Edit: It did took a lot longer than expected for this claim to be settled but they did settle the whole claim which made my life so much better, even if late.
Submitted a claim for lost baggage on they day it got lost (and I was abroad). They ask for every single item in the baggage including receipts, and they have a 10 days processing time. This was on the 5th of October. They sent me a macro like message on the 29th of October for more information. It is now 13 of November and nothing from them.
Horrible experience, too bad I bought a one year insurance.

Con. Won't respond or process.
I submitted a claim two months ago. Still it hasn't been processed. Their telephone number for claims doesn't work, and they don't answer emails. Such a con.
I was admitted to hospital, but they still insisted on getting GP document for my travel claim even though they never treated me.

Reluctant to pay out
We went on holiday to Portugal with my wife and daughter in August. Unfortunately, we found out on the day of arrival that my wife's mother was dying. We booked flights home the next day. I claimed through CoverForYou for almost €5,000 worth of flights, accommodation and parking costs. Since early August, they delayed any kind of payment and provided little communication until they paid out around £1,700 total for myself and my wife on 15th October. This payment was only in relation to myself and my wife because we were the only two named on my insurance policy and also did not include any of the €1,700 which I paid for the original flights. After many, many phone calls they advised that the policy wording stated that only 'additional' expenses would be covered. This is at best ridiculous and at worst downright sneaky. Be careful, their policy premiums may appear good value, but once a claim occurs, they are reluctant to pay anywhere near what was actually lost.

Partner fell ill whilst on holiday
Partner fell ill whilst on holiday. We have a disabled son and a 2 yr old. Claim entered on the 13th of Aug. Have provided all supporting documentation and called every week since. Still no out of pocket expenses received. It's Nov!!!! Avoid avoid avoid. The reply below simply is not true. Yes Axa paid me for another claim with a different insurer broker (GB1-24-206550). The claim made via Cover for You (GB1-24-197599) has yet to be paid!!

Used Cover For You a few times for…
Used Cover For You a few times for travel insurance, 1st time I needed to claim and just been run round the houses by their under writer “Davies Group” broke my phone and they want letter headed paper of ownership! Who has paper documents these days! Everything is done via email and on the apps! But that isn’t good enough! Save your money and don’t use!
Update and response: I have provided proof of ownership twice along with proof of contract, the contact was a phone call this morning that I missed as at work, they then emailed asking for the same thing, I have now provided ownership proof 3 times!! I’ll wait another week for them to email back with the same response!!

9 year old boy with broken arm left stranded in Turkey
I would strongly suggest avoiding using this business. My 9 year old son broke his arm in Turkey and required surgery and a hospital stay. Whilst the level of service on the medical side was very good, their "repatriation team" ignored all requests for them to organise hotels, flights home and transfers. I was promised multiple call backs over a 24 hour period, but they left myself and my 9 year old son stranded in Turkey. I have yet to see any evidence that their repatriation team actually exists! I was forced to book all flights, hotels and transfer myself, at great inconvenience and cost. I am now struggling to recover these out of pocket expenses from the business, and the complaint I have made about their disgraceful service remains unanswered.
I would hate any other families to go through this horrific experience, so would strongly advise using an alternative insurer.

Spoke to Charlie on customer service to amend my Annual Multi Trip holiday insurance. He was excellent in taking us through the Medical questions, very knowledgeable and put my wife's mind at ease. Very happy with Charlie's assistance thank you.
Do not use this travel insurance company
Worst experience with Travel Insurance Claim.
• Could not use website to submit claim as fill of bugs, Drop down menus do not work etc not letting me click through.
• Had to log claim over the phone.
• Logged claim end of July and now beginning of September with no communication updates at all. Every time I phone I am on hold for 45mins before getting through. Every week I am told the same thing - end of next week will be the conclusion. This has been the same for the past 3 weeks.
• Went with this travel insurance as it was rated 5 star - just goes to show the ratings mean nothing.
IN RESPONSE TO COVER FOR YOU ON 06/09: It may take 6-10 weeks to assess a claim but this is not stated clearly anywhere and still doesn't stop the fact that every time I call it takes at least 45 mins on hold to speak to somebody. Communication has been extremely poor.
UPDATE 12th September: Despite an advisor saying someone would be in touch I have just received another email saying there will be a further delay. Yet again no contact details given and nobody to speak to. Yesterday I spoke with an agent who asked me to send over all documents again for the 3rd time as they hadn't even opened them! I must reiterate my point, if you are going away anytime soon then do yourself a massive favour and go with a more reputable trustworthy insurance provider.
UPDATE 18th September: In response to the latest update today, we have still not actually received payment into our accounts despite what is said here. We have a settlement awaiting approval but must highlight that this has now been 50 days since we submitted the claim. It has also taken over 20 phone calls to chase any update and only 1 week ago we were having to resend documents. In conclusion - I would advise using your bank/building society travel insurance option as Nationwide have previously offered a much speedier service with a fully integrated customer service helpline.
UPDATE 19th September: This company do not rest. They are happy to just argue with customers rather than just apologise. See how many times they respond to this review but never admit responsibilities for their failures. Shocking!

Very helpful Team member
Very helpful Team member. Understood how the issue has arisen and immediately corrected it and explained very well what he would do. Excellent customer service.
Change your gadget cover provider
As part of my travel insurance policy I had gadget cover, sadly Cover for you use a company called Davies group to process these claims.
Davies are a nightmare to deal with and it's such a shame CFY continue to use them, because of this I will no longer buy a policy from CFY.
I will say all the staff I have spoken to at CFY have been as helpful as they can be and friendly, calls are answered quickly, sadly though they won't assist with the issues I'm having with my claim.

Really user friendly website
Really user friendly website. Lots of information written without jargon and easy to understand.
superb level of assistance obtaining policy
superb level of assistance setting up a policy and provided multiple insurance options which I was able to review before purchase. Many thanks for the time spent and the clarifications provided around several of the medical questions.
