Coventry Holmes has failed to follow up…
Coventry Holmes has failed to follow up with just answering calls. I have a problem with the tile in the bathroom that was put on incorrectly. It is a common issue in other Coventry homes built at that time. For this reason it requires the tile be replaced in the master bathroom in the guest room on the main floor.
"Homeowners be aware
Homeowners be aware.
After purchasing a home from Coventry Homes, we experienced a leak from the master bathroom toilet. An independent licensed plumber confirmed the toilet had been installed incorrectly at the time of construction, including a flange set too low and an uneven mounting surface, which prevented a proper seal.
Coventry Homes initially acknowledged the installation issue and coordinated a site visit with their contractor. However, after this acknowledgment and despite professional documentation and photos, Coventry later withdrew support and implied the damage was homeowner-caused.
I appreciated the early communication, but the reversal in responsibility and lack of follow-through left the issue unresolved and resulted in out-of-pocket costs on my end.
I am sharing this review so future homeowners are aware and can ensure installation issues are fully resolved and supported from start to finish.
Terrible work morale and low integrity…
Terrible work morale and low integrity builder. They promise a one year warranty and when the warranty is needed, they walk. They provided zero warranty requirements until it benefits them. Throughout the first year, they reference an 11 month inspection that never happens.
My Coventry Home Buying Experience
My Coventry Home Buying Experience – Texas
Purchasing a home is supposed to be an exciting and joyful experience. When my son and I moved to Texas to buy a home, we found a builder named Coventry Homes. We initially spoke with Wendy, who was absolutely amazing. She later introduced us to Ms. Christine Howard, and unfortunately, that’s where things started to take a turn for the worse.
From our first encounter, the experience began to decline. At the design center, we met with Kayla Wallace, who was extremely unprofessional, impatient, and pushy.
During the homebuying process for a new build, a realtor isn’t required to be listed on your contract. However, a former school associate insisted that I needed one and added herself to my contract. Later, I realized her intentions were purely financial.
When I contacted Ms. Christine Howard at Coventry to have the realtor removed from my contract, I was informed that, under Texas TREC law, a realtor cannot be removed once added even without a signed agreement between the buyer and the realtor. Ms. Howard and her supervisor, Ms. Elizabeth, went back and forth for months without ever taking real steps to assist.
Frustrated, I took matters into my own hands and visited Coventry’s corporate office, where I spoke with Russ Mason. I explained the situation and told him I would not move forward with closing until the realtor and her brokerage were removed. After reviewing the case, Mr. Mason said that removing the realtor could lead to Coventry being sued by the brokerage, and that the brokerage would likely win.
Later, I returned to the office, and Mr. Mason told me I had good news the realtor had been removed and I could move forward with closing. Relieved, I was excited to finally move forward. However, just days later, the title company contacted me to review paperwork, and to my surprise, the realtor and brokerage were still listed.
At that point, I was furious. Despite already investing $11,890, I was ready to walk away. Mr. Mason had lied directly to me to protect himself and the company. Coventry showed no accountability, no compassion, and no effort to make things right. It became clear that Coventry Homes cares more about money than their clients.
Ms. Howard and Ms. Elizabeth knew very well that the realtor did absolutely nothing to earn that commission yet Townview Realtors still received payment for zero effort. It also shows how money hungry the broker who owns Townview Realtor he diff lacks integrity because he was aware that his realtor did nothing to receive commission…. I blame Coventry allowing this to happen.
I strongly urge anyone considering purchasing a home in Texas to do thorough research before choosing a builder. Home buying should be a happy and memorable moment but with Coventry, my experience was the complete opposite.
If I had to rate Coventry on professionalism and customer service, they would receive a zero.
That said, I want to give credit where it’s due. The builder, London (I believe that’s his name), was amazing professional, communicative, and dedicated throughout the entire build process. I truly appreciate his exceptional service.
Additionally, I want to thank Debbie and Sophia from Golden Dog Title for their professionalism and for making the closing process smooth and pleasant.
Bad home quality and terrible customer service experiences
Since we moved into a brand new homes, there were 15+ major construction related issues. Some issues were observed prior to closing, while the builder promised to address, they found all sorts of excuses not to address them. The customer service was often non-responsive or closed the warranty ticket without inspection or customer agreement. We had a leaking roof, backyard door malfunction, electric outlet, cabinets alignment/cracking, damaged pathway/garage concrete, garage door issues......etc. Many of these issues were related to construction quality issues which required lots of insisting and took significant time for them to be 'willing' to look into them and consider fixing. Overall, bad construction qualities and absolutely terrible customer service experiences. Will not consider this new homebuilder and advise anyone that we know not to consider them at all.
Been in our Coventry home now for 2…
Been in our Coventry home now for 2 years. Many quality issues through the two years. Most recently Wylie experienced hail damaged roofs. While having the damaged examined, a roofing company took many pictures of the roof showing how the shingles were never lined up correctly and indicated that the roofing trades did an extremely poor job. Just another thing!
Warranty is a joke
Warranty is a joke. Builder promised he would take care of touch ups and force closed the house. They ended up being cosmetic fixes and they showed up after few months. Warranty dept is not willing to repair them.
Poor Quality Work that is a Code Violation they Won't Fix
requested a warranty item when a roofer hit a water line in my roof. It is out of code compliance because it is too close to the roof. Per the Dan Marcos compliance officer, they should've put a metal plate there. Coventry is denying my warrenty claim because I have been in my house past the 2yr warranty period & it passed inspection for them. This line thay was hit flooded my master bathroom, my master closet & my master bedroom. Everything is pulled out. I currently have no bathroom & everything from the bathroom cabinets & my closet are stacked up in my living room. How can a code violations not Trump a warranty time frame. Their customer service is very poor. They are about making a dollar & not backing up their service to their homeowners. I will NEVER buy Coventry again & advise anyone looking to avoid them as well.
We've had a terrible experience with…
We've had a terrible experience with Coventry overall. During the home building process they made us sign off our earnest money which was $30k + very early in the building stage. stating they can't move forward with building if we didn't. we had our current home as a contingency. knowing how the market is currently to sell pre owned homes we couldn't sell our home by closing so they refused to give us back our earnest money. And we weren't given access to talk to anyone other than the sales agent. they turned around and added $100k to the home they supposedly built for us and sold it in 2 months. took both our earnest money and the profit they got from the house. how in the world is that okay? atleast have the decency to give us back part of our money if not all.
Warranty issues
They give very hard time to address warranty issues.
They would give you all kinds of reasons claiming that the issues are not covered in warranty.
We bought a home in Dunham Pointe Cypress more that a year ago and I see some structural issues with the home were they deny it saying it is not covered under structural warranty and it should have covered under 1st year of warranty only.
Ask for every little details in writing
We entered into an agreement contract to build an Ingleside plan, elevation C home with Coventry in Sept 2024 in Dunham Pointe subdivision. During the exterior options selection process where we decided on brick options and brick colors, additional gutter, exterior lighting, water softener pre-hookup, etc. We made it very clear to the sales agent that we would like to upgrade so that the house will be all bricks instead of plank sidings. He presented us the costs for side and back upgrades which we selected and included in contract. End of Dec 2024, the construction supt. sent weekly update with pictures that they are done with bricking step of the house. We noticed that there is a triangle section in the front of the house that is not brick, but plank sidings. We contacted the builder sales rep and construction supt, after being sent back and forth between the two in terms of why this is not brick, the sales rep finally said that the elevation that we chose comes with this front section as siding. Well, the standard design for this elevation also comes with side and back of the house as sidings. Hence, that was why we upgraded to all bricks. It was never mentioned or presented to us when we review brick upgrades that this front section would remain siding. They never even gave us the option to upgrade it to brick like they did with the sides and back of the house so we thought that when we said we would like to have this house as all bricks, leading us to believe that this section would also be included in the meaning of "all". No sane person would have a house that is all bricks with the exception of this triangle in the front of the house so that it can stand out like a sore thumb. So now, the house is all brick with an ugly triangle section in the front that is plank siding. They told us (after much fighting) that they will brick this, but we would have to pay for the rework. It's frustrating that they would not cover this cost because they were the one that did not let us know that this section would remain plank when we said we wanted and thought we seleted all bricks. For a home that is going to be close to $700K, you would think that Coventry would be want to make things right by their customer as a good gesture of excellent customer service.
There are other frustrating examples of working with this builder where they said the cost is X and then after you sign the paperwork, they said there was an error so now it's X+Y. Too long of a story to cover here.
My advice is to make sure you have every little detail documented in writing with them if you really like Coventry, but suggest that you use a different builder since we didn't have this experience when we built our first home with a different builder.
They are the worst builders in the…
They are the worst builders in the world. Stay way from them.
Zero customer service.
They say you have to obey else they will take all your money.
**Untrustworthy and Misleading…
**Untrustworthy and Misleading Practices – Do Not Trust Coventry Homes**
Our experience with Coventry Homes has been nothing short of appalling and disheartening. What should have been an exciting journey to homeownership in The Highlands quickly turned into a nightmare of misleading practices and mistreatment.
After being convinced to move forward with a new build despite our expressed desire for a quick move-in timeline, we were assured that our earnest money would be refunded if we chose not to proceed. We were clear that our decision was based on Coventry Homes’ inability to meet our timeframe due to my work commute and the need to relocate promptly. Yet, when we opted not to move forward after their preferred lender imposed unreasonable six-month delays, Coventry Homes suddenly refused to return our earnest money—even though we were not under contract for the proposed new build home.
This bait-and-switch tactic, coupled with their lack of transparency and disregard for our situation, has been damaging. After canceling our contract, we discovered discrepancies in the earnest money amounts listed in the cancellation document. This, along with a complete lack of communication, has left us frustrated and compelled to pursue legal action to recover our money.
Coventry Homes’ handling of this issue has shown a complete lack of integrity, accountability, and customer service. Their refusal to honor their commitments or provide any form of transparency is not only unprofessional but also unethical.
We strongly urge anyone considering Coventry Homes to think twice. Our experience has been plagued with broken promises, mismanagement, and financial dishonesty. Save yourself the headache and choose a builder who values their customers and upholds basic ethical standards.

Never buy Coventry!
Never buy Coventry!
One star just so I can leave a review!
They treat disabled veterans like imbeciles and make fun of you and take advantage!
Coventry warranty department Jason williams and Jacob koncak in Austin Texas are lower than a snakes belly. In cahoots with Airtron HVAC Lisa pena and the whole crew. Not fixing my AC in 3 years, even though they were the ones that installed it in the new build. The heroes installed one 5 ton ac unit in a home over 3500 square feet with over 37 windows and deny any wrong doing.

We love the location and look of our…
We love the location and look of our home but horrible continued experience. During the building process of our home, they framed things wrong that we had to catch. We noticed our floors buckling, so we called in a warranty request. They came out and said it was our fault, We put some stuff on the wood floors and just kept ignoring us. come to find out we had a major leak in our dishwasher that was finally detected by us. They finally ended up rectifying the issue. Called in a warranty request about six months ago someone came out to look at it and said they’d be back in touch, do you think we ever heard back from them? Had a roof leak so called in another warranty request. They came out to look at it sent some 20-year-old guy or so and he just said sorry it’s not covered. Never got on the roof, showed us a weather report, etc. Didn’t care to see a photos or video of when we noticed the leak just said there was a storm in the area. It’s not covered. And he also told us our other request was closed. Be Aware!!!!! I would not recommend this builder to anyone.

New built nightmare
Only 3 weeks after moving into our newly built Coventry Home, still mostly unpacked, an improperly installed water pipe came apart while we were out all day. Our house and furnishings were inundated with water. Coventry tried to lay blame on the maker of the pipe fitting when it clearly just pulled apart, I took photos. This opened Pandora's box to an ongoing nightmare of lies, delays, slipshod repairs, and a shameful awareness that Coventry Homes is a terrible home builder. The neighboring Coventry homeowners in our area have shared their major griefs with their own home quality issues. Upon returning to our "repaired" home, we hired a private inspector. They discovered over 100 deficient items, many major. The overall evaluation was that the house should not have passed original move-in inspection. We are still here, over a year later, but our abysmal experience with Coventry is still ongoing.

We loved their floor plan "build on…
We loved their floor plan "build on your lot" and we contacted Conventry (Dallas/Ft Worth) to build a home on our lot. The first meeting, the gentleman was late for at least 10 minutues. Not even bothered to call and let us know until we called him. He made us wait for another 10 minutues before he could call us back. Gave the guy all the information about the lot and we didn't hear a thing for another 2 weeks or so before we texted/called him back. No answer. Call the office the lady, a new home specialist, told me she would find out. The guy texted me back a few days later and then disappeared again. After waiting for a few weeks, we heard absolutely nothing back. After seeing so many negative feedbacks from here and other places, I'm so LUCKY that I haven't started any financial engagement with them yet. To the top Conventry Homes leadership, you guys need to have service quality control to deal with this type of situations. You just lost one potential customer and many future references.

Where do I even start
Where do I even start? You just have to make sure that you’re stopping by the construction site a couple times a week to make sure that they didn’t put the wrong frame on the front door, wrong frame for the bathtub in the master bedroom, that the cabinets that were installed in the working kitchen aren’t broken, that the back door is not too big for the frame and you don’t have a hard time locking and unlocking it. That the master bedroom closet looks like what we asked. That you don’t have a water leak in the sprinkler system (that is NOT covered by warranty) months into moving in to your home. That the plumbing is adequate enough so you are able flush the toilets every time without it clogging. I could go on.
When the financing portion of the process comes about make sure that you notify them 30 days prior to the closing date that you have your own lender and won’t be going with their lender. If they give you a closing date and it’s in less than 30 days and you didn’t tell them about your lender, you’re out of luck. Don’t bother calling corporate office because Max, the VP over the financing, will not only not return your phone calls and messages, he will tell the sales associate to tell you that HE WILL NOT BE CALLING YOU BACK.
If I could give negative stars I would.
