Happy with the purchase and the service
I was very worried after reading the post-purchase reviews here. I ordered a jacket during Black Friday on December 1st. It took a while for the item to be shipped, so I phoned customer service. They were polite and sent me an email explaining that they were a little overwhelmed by the success of Black Friday.
After a few days, they started the shipping process. Yesterday, the parcel was handed over to UPS for delivery, and today it arrived at my place by 1 p.m. In total, it took about 16 days–10 business days.
I’m happy that I received my jacket in time for Christmas.
Been charged twice for one item
³Been charged twice for one item. No Online customer service at all (links on website go to dead links). Have to send an email off and no one responds.
Also ordered 1st Dec, now 14th and still not shipped. Told it was due to black friday busyness. Website says things may take 48 hrs longer at peak times but this is way beyond that. Might not get items for christmas now.
Horrid website, brand clearly don't care or invest in it, no customer support and website has deadlinks everywhere. Need a new website partner
2 weeks gone
2 weeks gone, no order, no shipment, no response to email
No confirmation of delivered before Christmas
Be careful before ordering as I ordered something on the 6th of December with 4-6 business days delivery and they cannot confirm if it will be delivered by Christmas.

Columbia convertible pant review 12/7/25
I can only rate the convertible pant that zips off to wear as shorts. I have been buying these pants for at least 10 years because I spend a lot of time in Asia which is a warm climate. They are light to travel with and dry quickly. THE NEGATIVE !! Columbia now produces a Very Low Quality product. It was a much better quality when made in Vietnam. Definitely less quality when they started manufacturing in Bangladesh to maybe save $2 or $3 on a pair that retails for $70. A few years ago I was not aware of the change and ordered 3 new pair in different colors because after a few years the bottoms do not match the top from fading and their guarantee is for 1 year only. They were all marked all the same size but all had different waistlines and lengths. I kept one of the 3. That one is my only one that is now fraying along the upper belt line around the pants. Still ok with me because I do not tuck in but shows a lack of quality. Now, today in a Columbia Outlet store I bought a new pair for $40. That should be their retail price not the discounted price for this quality of pant. These are very low quality compared to a few years ago. The fabric looks and feels much cheaper than a few years ago and inside of the belt line they eliminated the interior stronger fabric that strengthened the inside of where the belt passes on the outside. Also, on both sides of the inseam which which runs on both sides of the leg from the upper leg to the bottom hem in the last had overlap double stitching and now is only single stitching. Really a cheep way to make a pant leg. Columbia saved maybe $2 or $3 with making a much cheaper pant but still is trying to sell a very low quality pant made in Bangladesh for $70. A Complete Rip Off. I do not know if all their products are now extremely low quality compared to years ago but definitely the convertible pants are. This is 100% true and I have about 6 pair of pants that I compared their quality of today to from a few years ago and not a close match up. It is absolutely Terrible that Columbia’s quality of their convertible pants went from 10 to 1.5 in the last 10 years.
This company cons people out of money…
This company cons people out of money for items they dont have! I purchased matching coats for myself and my daughter. 11 minutes after the confirmation email was sent I had a cancellation email for one of the items. Over 12 hours later the coat is still available to buy and customer services says they are out of stock and the website will update at some point! Shocking behaviour - I would not have purchased either if I had known one was out of stock and will now have to wait days for the funds to be returned. Appalling service!
Credit refund only
I bought 2 fleece jumpers for my son from Columbia store in McArthur Glen, Bridgend. He wasn’t with me so I asked the man at the till if I could get a refund if they didn’t fit. He replied yes. When I went to return them because they were too short they would only give a credit note not a refund. This was only stated in a very small sign. Is this even legal?. It’s certainly awful customer service. I felt completely conned. Avoid at all costs.
BEWARE NO REFUND EVEN FOR FAULTY ITEMS
I bought a jacket for my husband's birthday and asked at the time how long I had to return it if it was not suitable, was given a date in the future which was fine. At no time did they indicate that they did not do refunds - only exchange or credit note. The jacket was not suitable as although it was a mans jacket the zip zipped up the ladies way. I returned it fully expecting that I would be given a refund only to be told that I could have an exchange or credit note and their returns policy was displayed in store - it was on a card on the desk beside the till in such small print that even with my glasses on I could not read it! I pointed out that in my, and my husband's opinion, the jacket was faulty, and had been mis-sold, but they insisted that it was the European way to zip a jacket! Reluctantly I had to take a credit note.
Always important to write a balanced…
Always important to write a balanced review, to ensure everything evolves positively. Often people come on here with the sole intention to vent anger about a situation. I probably used to feel like doing that. But it doesn't necessarily end-up progressive.
The new sherpa/warmer men's fleeces are exciting, and always have been. The sherpa fabric is wonderful, one of the best on the market. Not a big fan of the alternatively coloured chest pocket. I'm not sure anyone wants to advertise/draw attention to their chest pocket. It detracts from the awesomeness of the sherpa fleece's overall design, surely? Not a big fan of the reversible aspect of the new sherpa fleeces. Much preferred the previous 2 generations of men's sherpa fleeces, that had contrast-less chest pockets, and stunning, cheerful designs. Those are so popular, that they fly off all used-clothes platforms within a day or two each time they appear. That's all the evidence anyone needs - the previous 2 generations of men's sherpa fleeces rocked. Thank you for making them.
Love the fabric and designs of the button collar fleece versions. I'm just not convinced that button collars are comfortable, nor popular in the UK. Rarely see any guys wearing them. I tried selling a few, it took 4-6 months.
Hope all the feedback helps. Look forward to your next sherpa fleece season. Likely to buy a several, depending on how they are made.
Best regards
P.S. I agree, customer service is a weak point, and like a few people have mentioned/alluded to, the tone they present is sometimes passive aggressive, (even on seemingly conflict-free topics). I suspect it's just one or two particular staff. There's always one or two in every department of life, unfortunately. They may be severely over-worked though, which can stress even the gentlest people.

Part of a very expensive order is missing from my delivery - called customer service to be told I need to wait for an email and an enquiry will be opened. Not heard back from them yet.
So wish I’d read these reviews before placing an order. I thought buying direct from Columbia would be the best way. I could have bought the items from elsewhere and got what I’d ordered…
Update: I’m being asked to jump through hoops. Need a printer / scanner that I don’t have to fill out a form so they can take a week to investigate the delivery company. I’ve already confirmed that the package showed absolutely no signs of being tampered with.
Update 17/11: I was assured that an investigation would take up to 4 business days. It's now 6 business days and no update, no refund or missing item delivered.
Columbia EU have stole £50 from me!!!
If you want Columbia products, go elsewhere, do not use their direct website. Cowboys!
They really don't care
I had reason to return an item that had failed (waterproof hiking boots that were anything but waterproof). Customer service was beyond poor, the passive aggressive tone, a 20% offer of a partial refund so I can 'wear them in the dry' and a complete lack of knowledge of consumer law.
They simply ignored my requests to escalate and pro ice detIls please of an ADR scheme - I do d eventually get my full refund but I will be reporting them to trading standards regarding lack of consumer law and false advertising (apparently their mesh shoes are waterptin rain but not suitable for walking through grass?!)
They have lost a customer but, judging by their scores on all their sites globally on trust pilot, and the fact they haven't claimed the company here, I guess they simply don't care - which seems an odd business strategy to me.
Absolute joke
Absolute joke . Waiting my order already second week, delivered one jumper instead of four !! Not refunding my money , not replying to my emails !
Great experience buying new sandals!
I bought some new Columbia sandals for my wife. We found the ones she liked and the price was very competitive. The ordering went smoothly and the sandals arrived within a few days and were delivered by UPS. I had a few, updates about the delivery, but was not bombarded by emails like some companies. Overall it was a great experience and there were no issues. 👍
Wrong sizes sent
I ordered three pairs of trousers in two sizes to be sure one would fit me: 4 x size 14 and 2 x size 16. I received 4 x size 10 and two x size 12! I'll be returning all of them - not enough time now to re-order the correct ones.
Absolute joke of a store
Absolute joke of a store. Sale items can’t be returned in store but can be returned if purchased online? Not sure about the thinking behind this. I took it further and got a refund from my in store purchase. Items were bought 7 days prior, brand new in the box with a receipt. I will never buy from them again, and have told everyone not to purchase as well. Do not purchase from this brand!
Defeated by intransigence
After seven (7) correspondences to Columbia Sportswear Customer Service I wrote a formal complaint regarding the unresolved warranty claim #726158 for a Columbia Sportswear jacket exhibiting a significant material defect. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this issue, Columbia Sportswear has failed to address the fundamental problem: a demonstrable manufacturing defect.
My previous communications, including photographic evidence and an offer to send the jacket to their R&D department at my expense, were met with inadequate and dismissive responses. These responses consistently avoid addressing the inherent material defect and instead focus on irrelevant factors such as the point of purchase and the age of the garment. Such arguments are unacceptable and demonstrate a lack of commitment to addressing customer concerns regarding product quality.
They didn't deliver my parcel
They didn't deliver my parcel, their partner UPS refused to deliver it and sent it back to them. Columbia told me I would get a refund while the item was available in their stock at a higher price. When I contacted support they offered %10 discount while I had %20 discount as anyone else who subscribed to the newsletter and they claimed this was a compensation. Later they offered me a price match but asked me to repurchase the item while they didn't pay the refund for the first item I paid for. I insisted on send me the item I paid for but they refused. Still waiting for my refund.
Disgusting customer service
Failed delivery, zero help from customer service!
I placed a sizeable order last week for 2 ski jackets and 2 pairs of ski trousers. To cut a long story short UPS have lost the order. My first phone call to Columbia they insisted I constant UPS, which I did. The next day still no delivery and UPS tracking is now saying a claim can be made. So I phone Columbia again to be told they won’t contact UPS or start an investigation until tomorrow, and at which point I will have to wait around 5 days. I explained I’m waiting for these items for a holiday so asked them to send them again to which they refuse. Having read the other reviews on here I think this is just the beginning of a long fight to get the £500+ refunded from this company. Never again.
Overall happy with purchase.
Ordered jacket I had tried on locally but wanted in a different colour. I knew I wouldn’t need to return. Got confirmation email same day. Jacket arrived 6 days after placing order. I love it. I will say it was £20 more than local price but I really wanted the jacket, so for that reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5. (I usually read Trustpilot reviews before purchasing on line. For some reason I forgot to this time. Had I done so I wouldn’t have placed my order.) So I guess I struck lucky. No problems with this company from my experience.
Unpleasant experience, unhelpful, slow, bad shopping experience at Columbia Sportswear
Overall terrible shopping experience to the point that I no longer want to wear anything affiliated with this brand. Terrible customer service, lack coherency, or understanding.
they sent me a wrong order, took ages to reply and had to wait over 2 weeks for a refund, they provided no solution or compensation for their incompetency and made me print labels for returns for their issue!
By the time I received a refund I no longer needed the items nor plan on spending any money with them again. Go and shop elsewhere.
