Years later he officially launched H F J Cole in 1954, providing a full legal service for the people of Poole. The firm grew and by 1972 there were three partners; Howard, his brother Arthur and Roger Senior. By this time, the firm had been re-named HFJ & AW Cole. As the years progressed and the firm flourished more and more solicitors were brought on board. The year 1989 witnessed the merger with Poole-based firm Millers and thus Coles Miller, as it is known today, was formed. Marie was lovely when she prepared our wills, she advised us on any pitfalls and explained in detail the right way to go about things regarding issues in the family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cole’s Miller in the future.

I recently accepted £215,000 compensation from Coles Miller, for a Negligence Claim, I started against them, about two years ago.
I only accepted this small amount, because at the age of nearly eighty, I couldn't envisage myself living long enough to benefit from litigation.
The claim was in respect of my late Brother's Estate.
Coles Miller were contracted, in early 2021, to handle the Estate on my behalf.
Coles Miller's handling of the Estate was appalling.
There were several changes of solicitor handling the estate.
I was asked, on more than one occasion, to supply information I had provided weeks earlier.
That and the fact that no one, at Coles Miller, seemed to have done anything on the case for six months, resulted in Grant of Probate taking over 14 months
COVID19 was the problem, apparently.
The knock on effect was that Coles Miller, negligently, managed to lose the Estate a huge amount of money.
Hiring Coles Miller was a monumental mistake on my part and has given me nothing but anxiety for the past 4 years.

I had a property that was rented and problems with the tenant leaving the property. Coles Miller assisted with the process and then selling of this property. I was thankful for the support throughout this long process by Coles Miller personnel.
Excellent service, I would highly recommend Roger Leedham at Coles Miller for conveyancing. We had a complicated purchase and he kept us updated at every stage, advocating for us at every opportunity to ensure the sale went through. He is a no nonsense, accessible and clearly highly experienced solicitor. If only all solicitors were like this, housing sales would be a breeze.
Coles-Miller acted for me with an insurance claim and made what was a daunting experience, a fairly easy one. Brian Parsons was extremely helpful throughout and explained each step of the claim clearly to me.
Brian was easy to talk to and gave good advice at all times.
I would reccommend using Coles-Miller to anyone.
All contacts within Coles Miller were clear, courteous and helpful. The named solicitor helping me was particularly competent and understanding, making all actions easy to complete.
This is the second time I have used Coles Miller Solicitors LLP for important legal work. On both occasions I have been extremely impressed with their professionalism.
The second most recent occasion was for producing my Will and Lasting Power of Attorney. Joe Gustar-Russell led me through all the necessary documentation and completed everything within a very short time.
This firm has represented me over a few years dealing with property transactions. Kerry H-K and her team are professional, competent and once you work with them you won’t want to go anywhere else. I found that they always had my back and things were done with my best interests in mind.
Dealt with my will, very professionally , explained well. Would recommend.
I cannot thank Coles Miller Solicitors enough for the incredible support and dedication they showed throughout my wrist negligence claim. From the very start, they were honest, professional, and consistently encouraging, guiding me through what could have been an overwhelming process.
Their hard work and diligence never wavered. I always felt reassured knowing that my case was in capable hands, with every step clearly explained and my best interests truly prioritised. They treated me with respect and empathy, and their communication was always timely and transparent.
Thanks to their expertise and commitment, I felt confident and supported throughout the entire journey. I’m extremely grateful for everything they’ve done, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Coles Miller - and a special mention to Lydia Barnett - to anyone in need of trustworthy and highly competent legal representation.
