Fantastic experience that I have gladly recommended to friends & family. Not only is Spencer clearly passionate and entertaining, his depth of knowledge makes the experience enlightening and you get to try excellent chocolate from all around the world.

The Mexican ground chocolate with Cinnamon is the very best, interesting and totally different chocolate I have ever tasted in 77 years of enjoying chocolate.

Educational, informative and great fun. Spencer guides the group to understand the subtlety and complexity of choosing and enjoying chocolate. There is far more to it than I ever thought.

Spencer is an amazing ambassador for craft chocolate. Very knowledgeable and great host. I learned a lot of interesting facts and worrisome facts on impact of mass produced chocolate.

We love the chocolate which Cocoa runners finds for us so when they discovered an artisan chocolate maker still producing in war torn Ukraine I was quick to order a couple of the special boxes. Normally all the chocolate comes with interesting information on the producers so I was surprised and disappointed when these special boxes arrived with no information at all. I emailed Spencer at Cocoa runners and he was apologetic in the extreme. It was, he said, his fault. Within days he had all the information including photos of the producers typed out and sent both on line and hard copy together with a complimentary bar of delicious chocolate. That is what I call service! A problem was immediately acknowledged and turned into an opportunity to delight the customer. Great outfit.

I ordered a gift for a friends birthday 6 days before the date as the website said standard delivery 3-5 days. Placed the order 18 November. One week later no delivery. i rang customer services and was told the order had been placed by them on 23 November - 5 days later even though they took my money on the 18th. 2 weeks later still no delivery. Sent emails - no reply. Tried ringing again and after an inordinate time I was cut off.
I will never use this company again. The service is dreadful.

Very odd customer service. All the chocolate I received last month was within 2 weeks of its "best before" date. I'm not scared that there was any danger to my health, just bothered about the quality given the high cost of each bar, especially as one of the bars had been manufactured in 2019. I asked customer service about this, and they replied that there was no real issue as the quality wouldn't have been affected. Not so sure on that one after 3 years. Anyway, the latest box just arrived and one of the bars had a best before date almost 4 months ago. Seems as though they are getting rid of out-of-date chocolate to subscribers. Another issue is that none of the FAQ hyperlinks on the website work, for example "how do I cancel my subscription?" I wonder why!

I ordered some chocolate, received an email confirmation and they took money from my account - however the tracking number they provided was invalid and when I follow the email link to see the order status, it simply tells me "Invalid Order". So essentially they have stolen £25 from me. Two unanswered emails have been sent, no one answers their phone line... So AVOID, unless you enjoy getting robbed.

Sometimes the information on their packaging isn't clear, for example my packaging did not make clear I had been bought a 'deep dive' experience rather than the regular one, so I booked on the wrong one - wasn't a problem as I had 2 experiences as Nick arranged for me to come to a deep dive one instead. However was mildly irritating. Also could do with a list of contents in the pack, so you can check its all there.
However the Sessions on Zoom with Nick Saxby were both excellent - interesting, well managed and thought through - I would recommend.

I can not promote this company.

Nick was very enthusiastc and interesting as he described the history of real chocolate and how so much of what we think is chocolate is not at all!
Eye-opening.

We really enjoyed the virtual chocolate tasting. It was fun and informative, without being pushy. The interactive element was really good, so that we felt involved without feeling awkward. We'd thoroughly recommend it anyone who loves chocolate and wants to understand more about how it comes to us.

Really enjoyable evening! I thought we might just be given small squares of chocolate but there was plenty and it was varied and delicious!

Great host, super fun experience, great background on history of chocolate while we tasted several kinds. Didn't feel rushed, plenty of time to enjoy all the properties of craft chocolate

Cocoarunners. The idea is great. The chocolate is great. My experience as an online subscriber to the monthly taster box was far less than great. I subscribed they took my money and sent me a box. Fabulous. Second month they took my money and a week later still no box. No email saying box dispatched. I rang them - not easy to find a contact number. Was told dispatch issues. Got my box shortly after. Box undamaged but one chocolate bar was. I complained asking for a replacement. Was told that boxes were quality controlled and since I could still eat it I would not be getting a replacement. Third month they took my money and over a week later no chocolate. I tried calling during business hours message said I was calling during opening hours but then said they were closed. The response to my subsequent email explained the chocolate was delayed because of the heat. Cocorunners also offered to replace my broken chocolate bar after I pointed out that I was entitled to return it as defective and I would not have bought the broken bar if I’d been on a shop. I don’t know how how long the online business has been going but I assume these are mostly teething problems but customer service needs an overhaul.

The tasting session was unpretentious and highly educational - not what you might expect! The chocolates are terrific too.

Fabulous session, really informative and fun. We were a very small group and it was very lovely! Am recommending to anyone remotely interested in chocolate (oh, and now I can't buy cheap chocolate again....)

We attend the Cocoa Runners Zoom event that is their introduction to chocolate tasting. What a fun and informative experience. It was scheduled as quite long - 2 hours from memory - but the time disappeared, in fact we almost ran out of time. The presenter was knowledgeable and interacted well with all the people on the call. We also got to learn loads about chocolate from history, to growing, to uses, to how it is made, to problems (environmental and social) - pleased this wasn't avoided and was dealt with at just the right level within a fun evening. We got to taste some lovely chocolate and we would heartily recommend.

Having purchased a tasting pack of various artisan chocolates from Cocoa Runners we signed up for an interactive Zoom talk and tasting.
We had an absolutely brilliant time! Nick (the presenter) had an infectious enthusiasm and the tasting was accessible and informative without being pretentious. He opened up a whole new world of enjoyment for those on the call. Moreover participants were fully engaged through being able to vote on what they were tasting and we were put at ease with our host stressing there were no right or wrong answers. We didn't all like everything - but it was so interesting to see how 'taste' could be modified through smell, touch, feel - and by chewing coffee beans!
All in all it was an excellent evening and I would thoroughly recommend it.
