Spencer is very professional, passionate, myself, colleagues of mine and British Society of Flavourist Members loved the online tasting. On a personal note, I have attended the in-person masterclass and I do recommend it to everyone who has passion for the topic.

My other half and ~I recently attended a whole day masterclass on Taste, Flavour and Chocolate hosted at the London School of coffee in Wandsworth. The whole day from start to finish was excellent. We were warmly welcomed and although neither of us is involved with chocolate (other than eating it) were able to participate fully in the day. We were guided by the supremely knowledgeable Spencer who was ably assisted by Gen and Tom (I hope I have remembered that correctly, if not I apologise). I was flabbergasted by some of the things we found out about how other senses can affect the flavour of the chocolate! We came away feeling more knowledgable about chocolate in general but also feeling empowered about how to choose the best chocolate for flavour, the growers and producers of craft chocolate but, importantly for us, the planet too.

We had such a fun evening with the wonderful host Spencer Hyman. His passion for craft chocolate rubs off on his audience, how could it not! He educated us on the history of chocolate, the science of taste and flavour as well as making us aware of the detrimental human and environmental cost mass produced chocolate has. We got to taste different brands of craft chocolate with a true guru. What a treat!

Chocolate that is good in so many ways… for your health but also for the farmers and for the planet. We all need to be buying this. Also their online tasting workshop was super informative and great fun,

As a wine lover, it was exciting to see so many parallels between the appreciation of craft chocolate and the appreciation of good wine. Both are sources of great joy - and were presented by Spencer and Margaux in a way that found just the right balance between information and pleasure!

My wife and I joined the Cocoa Runners / Corney & Barrow wine and chocolate tasting evening in January and had a wonderful time.

It was great to really get a better understanding of taste and separately how chocolate is made and flavours are created.

This is around the third time I've ordered from CR and each time it's been great. Quality selection and nicely wrapped. The latest time I ordered just before Xmas (my bad) and the chocs got there very soon after, for which I can't blame CR really. I was very impressed when they contacted me a few days later to point out that there was an item missing from the Xmas gift box, which I hadn't noticed. And they are sending me a replacement now. That is laudable honesty!

My friends and I really enjoyed our chocolate tasting with cocoa runners. It was really interesting and we learnt a lot plus it's great chocolate. I would definitely recommend and am looking to do future tastings.

If you are intending purchasing Cocoa Runners chocolates to use as a gift, or to consume over the festive period PLEASE BE AWARE. In my case, on the 3rd December I took delivery of what I consider to be an expensive box of chocolates (£38.90 with postage), to use as a gift. They arrived with with a BEST BEFORE DATE 18/12/2024 ! Thankfully, I noticed the date whilst wrapping them.
Despite emails, numerous calls and messages left with with customer services I have not received any response. I bought these Cocoa Runner chocolates, in good faith, after reading a review and listening to a 'Zoe' podcast.

I did the Tasting session Zoom session with Spencer and it was very entertaining and really informative also. I loved the Chocolate they provided and the fact that it's ethically sourced at reasonable cost is also inspiring! Thank you Spencer!

Spencer is an engaging host with fantastic knowledge of all things chocolate, including its history and the environmental and economic benefits of supporting the craft chocolate trade.
