,I had to ring coop and complain before my vehicle was inspected ,first I was told the problem was wear and tear and then neglect ,my car has had thousands spent on it in the the 3 years I have owned ,it My car was taken by coop car insurance on the 7th january ,the independent inspector from hoopers confirmed possible rodent damage ,as there was rat droppings all around the engine bay ,he said that the vehicle needed to go to Landrover, for electrical tests ,the back wheels were locked,as the electrics were not working ,it was dragged on and off trucks to two other garages ,when it finally got to landrover ,it turned out to be module problems ,all this took five and a half months ,now my brakes have collapsed ,and someone has spiked the fuel ,so the tank has got to be redrained cleaned and new filters ,and new brakes and disks as they have seized ,all in all ,over 1800 pound ,a simple test by Landrover at the start would of saved all of these other problems ,also when my car got to Landrover ,half of my parts were on the backseat from where the other garages hadn’t refitted them ,this company is an absolute joke ,they employ shoddy repair company’s ,my car was my pride and joy ,and I am disgusted with how my car has been treated

All my friends are getting rebates due to covid 19 but co op even though they say they're big on communities they really are not, giving nothing back, shame on you. I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as my premium has ended.
Avoid their Young Drivers Insurance at all costs!
If you're a young driver looking to insure your car with a black box, please avoid this company at all costs! There are far more reputable options out there. This is my experience - skip to the bottom to see the TL;DR.
I paid for my insurance up front. In the first few months, the majority of my driving was around built up areas. The black box loved this because I was always moving at a pace so slow it would make a tortoise jealous. This meant that I had an 'excellent' score and received £120 back to my account (yay!).
However, I then started driving longer distances which meant the use of motorways and A roads. To drive safely on these roads, you need to drive faster (at the speed limit) and accelerate quickly to ensure you merge at the same speed of the traffic. The black box didn't like this and absolutely nuked my score. You also have to be VERY careful not to drive a few MPH over the speed limit as this damages your score immensely.
Because of this, my score reduced and whilst still being a good score it was no longer excellent. Despite still driving safely and maintaining a good score, I was fined £72 because my score deteriorated. Furthermore, they don't send you an email or any notification that you have received this fine - you have to delve into your policy documents and even then it's only titled "An update to your policy". This meant I didn't notice the fine until I saw it being charged to my account, which would have been problematic if I didn't have the funds available. You agree to allow them to make these charges when you sign up to the insurance so it would be very difficult to challenge them, and the black box technology is far from perfect.
TL;DR If you anticipate that you're mostly going to be doing short drives around built up areas then this insurance will probably suffice (but I would still avoid them as a point of principle). If you plan to use your vehicle more extensively, then look elsewhere. Can't wait to switch in November - Christmas is coming early this year!

Tried to add a temporary driver
Tried to add a temporary driver to take new volvo to garage and back for a check. Despite excellent claims history and several years of this policy, always paid in advance, they would not entertain it. Did not want other driver’s details, just “no”

I'm dealing with several car insurance company for last 25 years, this is the worst one i came across. They just stopped my insurance without notifying me rubbish
Vile company
Absolutely disgusting company. I’m a new driver this has been my first year insurance and I have always paid and done everything asked of
Me. I have had to self isolate temporarily at my parents to look after them as they’re vulnerable/ high risk and due to this they’re charging me an extra £280 plus admin fees to change my address even though I tried to do this back in February and they refused to change my address back then with it would of only been an extra £90 but prices have jumped and they’re suddenly happy to change my address but only if I pay in excess of £280. I’m 22 years old, I’ve been furloughed, I’m struggling and I tried to change my address back in February. They are leaches.

Unfortunately the sales team are incompetent, under trained and often brusk when questioned over actions. Raised 6 complaints over a 3 month period about actions taken of which 5 were upheld. Thankfully their customer complaints team are excellent, and were able to unravel the issues. However, I'll never use their insurance again. It's better to pay more for a professional service which you can trust.
Absolutely appalled by this company
Absolutely appalled by this company. Took outvtravel insurance gold level months before the covid19 lock down. Upon requesting a claim from them as my travel company are offering vouchers only they have told me a voucher constitutes as a refund! Now last time I checked I can't use that voucher to buy anything other than another holiday which would be absolutely fine with me had the prices for the same exact holiday have now doubled or tripled in price making this no longer a valid option for me. I explained to them I'm disabled and this is disability saved up for 2 years whilst going through cancer treatment and could really use the money back but still refusing to give me anything. They will not cover the extra money that would have to be paid if rebooking either. I've been on the phone for 2.5 hours this morning only to be hung up on 4 times. Was told by the first agent it would take 8 weeks for a complaint to be dealt with!!! Then the 2nd guy said 72hrs!! I have asked repeatedly for an email for the ceo as I feel he should know and 3 different ppl refuse to give it to me
Can’t give lower than a 1 star
Can’t give lower than a 1 star, awful company been paid off due to corona virus so missed the bill, was ready to pay it again and was charged a late fee, during this time it should be illegal, avoid these at all costs
Only giving 1 star since zero stars not…
Only giving 1 star since zero stars not an option. I have been with coop insurance for years and now cause of the Coronavirus I have been TEMPORARY laid off and can’t afford my insurance. They have now cancelled my policy and said they are not allowed to extend it for 2 weeks till I get money. My partner with admiral and they had no issue extending his avoid this company at all costs in a time of need the flung me to the kerb.
ABSOLUTE RIP OFF THEY CHARGED ME £50…
ABSOLUTE RIP OFF THEY CHARGED ME £50 CANCELLATION FEE AFTER A £39 DEPOSIT FOR 15 SAYS INSURANCE.IF YOU DON'T PAY WHEN YOU CANCEL YOU CAN'T CANCEL.THIS COMPANY NEEDS CLOSING DOWN
DO NOT Use
DO NOT Use. I cannot emphasise this enough!!
I am a professional (doctor) and never have a bad word to say about any company unless it is the truth. My car was hit whilst stationary and they disputed my claim and took me to court!!!!!! Fraudulent company please don't make the same mistake we did. Use another company please!
£160 bill for cancelling policy because they wouldn't insure my new car. AVOID!
My car was written off after the floods in Yorkshire last year. Co-op Eco Insurance paid out on the claim no problem, and everything was handled very well. However...
Co-op eco insurance only has ONE underwriter, and they decided they wouldn't insure my new car. I was forced to take out another policy with a good insurer, and when I called to cancel the policy, I was told that because no-one else was involved, the floods were my fault! (I also control the wind, fire, and other natural elements).
As river's overflowing were MY fault and they paid out, they are now forcing me to pay the remaining time left on the policy. They were happy to move the policy to another car they would insure, but because they wouldn't insure my new car, they're making me pay.
I would highly recommend them when things are going good, but we all buy car insurance for the times when things are going bad - that's where they are pathetic.
Do not put yourself through it because a meerkat told you too. Co-op Eco Insurance will cost you. Not recommended at all, and very disappointed.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This insurance company is a disgrace. Only when you come to claim will you be told you have a 'budget' insurance. You will speak to the insurer however your claim will then be passed to a garage where they are dealing with over 100 cars and only 2 mechanics. The courtesy car they claim you will get 'as standard' is NOT like for like. And if at any point you are unhappy with how the claim is being handled by the garage the insurance company will put everything on hold and you will be threatened with the police if you do not return the courtesy car the same day. If anyone is already insured with this company and you have a none fault accident you have to let the insurance know but do NOT allow them to handle your claim or repair or courtesy car. Absolute worse service ever!
