Poor service from start to finish - Busby Clarkston

I approached Clyde Property in Clarkston after responding to a house for sale in Coatbridge. I viewed the property, around 24 hours before the closing date was drawn. I made a competitive offer (over market value and asking price) when I arrived to view the property, the estate agent was extremely impersonal and didn’t even introduce himself, or tell me anything about the property. Twice I called the branch in Clarkston, to be met with poor customer service. The agent who answered the phone was dismissive, patronising and condescending and cut me off several times mid sentence. I was told the property was going to a closing date, and the agent had stated it’s still in the negotiation stage (which shouldn’t be the case with closed bids) there isn’t room for negotiations. The staff at Clyde Property, all seemed to be cut from the same cloth, impersonal, rude and unprofessional. And certainly lived up to the attitude and snooty stereotype of the “South Side”of Glasgow.

It took me to prompt about three calls to get access to the home report for the address. If it was my own property, I would be extremely unhappy that prospective buyers were being dismissed and not engaged with and having to fight tooth and nail for basic answers to a property they hoped to purchase.

You would have honestly thought, this was the first property these guys had ever sold. Abysmal service. I wouldn’t recommend or engage with them again, if I see them selling a property I like in future, I would probably just avoid it for an easy life.

Great experience with Clyde

We had a really positive experience with this estate agency when buying our home. Eve in particular was absolutely brilliant – so helpful, efficient and always quick to respond to any questions we had. She made the whole process feel much less stressful and kept everything moving smoothly.
All of the staff we dealt with were professional, friendly and supportive throughout, which made a big difference. We felt well looked after from start to finish and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. A great team all round!

Good experience

Rachel Dewar at Clyde West End was key to helping my secure the flat I purchased, and attract a high price for the sale of my existing flat. Rachel and the rest of her colleagues, including Eve and Jack, were very responsive and helped me understand the estate agency process as a first-time seller. Their fees were competitive, and certainly cheaper than the other estate agents I got quotes from. I would use this branch of Clyde again in future.

Always a cleaning deduction

Typical letting agency that will use 'Cleaning' as a way to subtract from your deposit. And will not reply when you ask for an itemised receipt of what needs cleaned, as you have had it professionally cleaned and found it in the same state as you moved in

After an increasingly exhaustive search…

After an increasingly exhaustive search for a home for myself and my children in Clarkston I was beginning to give up. After another knock back Marie in the Clarkston branch let me know about a home that was about to come on the market and two days later I had been able to put an offer in off market and secured the perfect home for my family. I cannot thank Marie for going above and beyond for me and with her knowledge of the area and the opportunities coming up she really is the best. 6 months on we are thriving in our new home which all down to Marie remembering me and what I was looking for - thank you

Kieran MacLean is a credit to Clyde

Kieran MacLean is a credit to the team here at Clyde. A very friendly and approachable character who’s diligent with his work. I hope his work ethic and client centred approach is appreciated internally as it is externally. This chap will do well in his career.

Certainly have shortcomings

Advising how good Clyde Property think the services they offer to potential clients as well as not being slow in telling how good they think they are, compared to their competitors, is a fair reflection of the initial impression of meeting a representative of Clyde Property..

Overall I consider they did an adequate job selling a four bedroom flat close to Glasgow University, however, have certain reservations regarding aspects of their services

Be very careful believing the estimated value price they consider your property may realise and its marketability. Everybody wants to hear their property will realise a high sales price however be very careful with what you believe. It’s only human nature to believe that your property will achieve a price at the higher end of any range. You will be advised by Clyde Property the usual caveats re price to manage your expectations, however worth considering getting price estimates from a number of agents so you a meaningful comparison

Of particular concern was an offer was accepted by ourselves late on a Friday afternoon with a further viewing over the forthcoming weekend. We were not advised that the property would be taken off the market even although critical details of the offer, including entry date, had yet to be agreed.

When this occurred, we were told this was normal practice but clearly it shouldn’t be as vital aspects of the sale had not been agreed.
Only found out the property was off the market when I visited the Clyde website!!!

Clyde Property were very defensive when challenged on the withdrawal of the property for sale and we were advised this was standard practice !!!

One certainly got the impression that Clyde Property were just keen to have a potential sale in place, the sale price achieved at the lower estimated range with fewer viewers than had been anticipated

The overall viewing of the property producing our schedules and other sales material was very well managed as was feedback from Clyde Property,

it took close to 3 months to agree a an entry date …Not good.

The 3 star rating reflects Clyde Property’s shortcomings

We had a great experience with Stuart…

We had a great experience with Stuart and Jamie. Both were helpful and informative helping us make key decisions. During viewing Jamie was supportive, responsive and kept us up to date. He provided excellent guidance. They both helped reduce the anxiety and stress levels.
We could not speak more highly of our experience and recommended Clyde to neighbours and friends, both of whom have had a positive experience as well. We would not hesitate to use Clyde again.

We went with Clyde to sell our home and what a great service. They done everything they said they would do and to give us easy knowing we were in good hand in selling our house. We only had two viewings and the house was sold on the second one. So thanks to the team at the Falkirk office pleasure dealing with you. Thanks again.
