SmartPost is the worst!!!

SmartPost is the worst service for shipping...period! If they are going to charge for shipping should use something better. Will never order from them again. Nine days for something that would have arrived in 3 using first class USPS.

Poor Customer Service; Won’t Honor Prices For Their Mistakes

I have shopped with Christianbook several times in the past including one with a hiccup that was fixed. This past order through has made it my last. I ordered Bibles for my shop on Jan 14th this year. A week or so later they arrived but were the wrong Bibles. I contacted Customer service and they sent a refund label and a new shipment of Bibles. Again, they were the wrong ones. I called customer service this time to straighten things around and was told the right ones would be shipped right away and that the SKU labels were wrong in warehouse. A week later I got an email that they looked into the mixup and saw that the pictures on the listing were for the wrong cover of Bibles and said it was their mistake, but they would not be sending the Bibles I thought I was getting on the listing and told me if I wanted the correct ones I would need to pay more. I declined as I had already spent my budget for Bibles and could not spend more. I sent back the boxes of incorrect Bibles for a refund. A few weeks passed and I emailed as my tracking showed the Bibles had been returned and I still didn’t have the return to my bank account. I was told if I provided tracking numbers they would refund the money right away. I sent tracking numbers and was then told they could not process the return until the Bibles had been processed and that it could take 2+ weeks to even get to them. So here we are, nearly 2 months later and the return still has not hit my bank account. Normally I let these things slide because I know how hectic things can get but I was told one thing and then another and the issues with the Bibles wasn’t even my fault.

Refuses To File Lost Claim With FedEx

According to FedEx's website, the package I ordered was supposed to be out for delivery today, but there hasn't been any movement on it since 11/17 when it arrived in WV. The FedEx rep said I'd have to contact Christianbooks.com to get them to initiate filing a lost claim because they don't allow the customers to do it. Called Christianbooks.com and was told that they won't file a lost claim until after 11/25 because it could still be delivered by 11/25 even though FedEx themselves say it's lost and they have no idea where it is. I have to wait an additional week before filing a claim, which is ridiculous! I will NEVER order from Christianbooks.com again and definitely DO NOT recommend anyone else order from them.

Order only showed backorder status once ordered, 7 weeks of waiting and 4 updated dates NOW the last date given has come and gone with NO executed order and NO updated date emailed NO contact and NO update on the website for my order # W210760189

Switched to Christian Books from Amazon

I have been a customer for at least a decade. The more time passes, the more likely I am to order books from ChristianBooks than Amazon. The prices are cheaper in general, and they have no problems with me using Paypal, a major factor in any purchase. I find the sight easy to use. As with any website, as a purchaser I have to read the fineprint. For instance, a Bible might be labeled "large print" although it's only 12 pt. type because the typical print is 8 to 10 pt. So I've learned to look for the few Bibles that come in 14-16 point type.
I've also recently become a user of their online reader. Bibles online are awkward to use, you can't flip around the way you can a book you hold. Of course, the design comes from the publisher, not the distributor. My only real complaint is that the ereader shows me my library twice before accepting my selection. A minor problem indeed.
I'm a big fan of Christianbooks.

Advertised as "large print" BUT....

Advertised as "large print" when it absolutely wasn't. Then they gave me a hassle about shipping costs when returning the item. They also initially taxed the shipping cost but then only refunded me tax WITHOUT shipping costs. Scam?! I'm contending some of the charges with my credit card since "christian books" wouldn't do the right thing and give me my full refund. I highly recommend you find another company to purchase your books from.

Order placed 20 days ago and still haven’t received

Order placed 20 days ago and still have yet to receive. Christmas present for my son, and it is now December 23rd. The bible I ordered is the only thing he asked for. I contacted customer service, and all their excuses are irrelevant as to why I have not received it.

I've been ordering from CBD for years

I've been ordering from CBD for years, & have always been glad to support a Christian-based company. However, after today, I will be looking elsewhere for my Christian supply needs. Altho the CS lady who initially answered my phone call was exceptional & genuinely concerned that my order would be arriving on the last expected delivery date, & thus late for Christmas giving, when she transferred me to a supervisor, that woman could have cared less. Thanks to HER, I will never order from CBD again. Too bad for them, as I teach a number of large classes at our church thruout the year & usually order HUNDREDS of dollars of materials per year. Their lose. I'm sure another company will appreciate the business.

Watch your order and shipping date when…

Watch your order and shipping date when ordering from CBD. I placed an order on Thursday and paid for Fedex Priority Overnight. I did not receive my package until Monday. Rude customer service group told me that I placed my order after cutoff time at 10 am and they don't do Saturday deliveries. I needed my bibles for Sunday School class. This is their business, you think they would at least try to get the church supplies to them on time. Very, very disappointed. Have ordered previously with them and will never order again. I placed an order with Oriental Trading the same Thursday and got my order on Friday, as expected. Never again with CBD.

I've ordered from them for years and…

I've ordered from them for years and the company has went down hill. I've dealt with very rude customer service many times, many packages have arrived damaged (not packed properly), prices are to high, i've ordered a few items that were incorrectly advertised, shipping rates are to high and very slow to arrive. Walmart & Amazon are cheaper with faster service.

They seem to have a wide selection of books. I will be purchasing from them soon for all my homeschooling needs. Friends have ordered from them before and have gotten their stuff in a timely manner. I hope to have the same experience!

I homeschool two kids

I homeschool two kids. I ordered 7th grade A.C.E. kits for each of my kids. That's approximately a hundred and seventy books. I spent $455. Evidently they did not have the kits so they shipped all the books thrown in the box in no particular order. Online it showed that they had the kit in stock and no one had the courtesy to call me to ask if this was acceptable. So I am having to take the time to go through and make sure that I have received every single book. Not to mention there's another box coming that I haven't even received yet because they didn't ship it all together. When I called customer service they did not care at all they just offered to send me a shipping label send it back for a refund. When I asked her if she thought this was good customer service she could not answer and stuttered over her words.I asked for a supervisor and got the same attitude. In my opinion if you don't have the product that I ordered you should not send me a different product unless you call me and ask if this is acceptable. Not what I would expect from a Christian company. Not very customer service oriented at all and they don't seem to care if they're keeping the customers happy. They already have no money and know how much of a pain it would be to send it back. I will never order through them again. I will order directly through A.C.E in the future as I have always done in the past. Very disappointing ☹️

Beyond Satisfied!

I was looking for inexpensive children's science lab coats for a very large group of students. I couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere and that's when I came across a lab coat for only 99 cents on Christian Book. The lab coat was actual REAL, HEAVY DUTY FABRIC, not a cheap plastic or anything, and only 99 cents. I thought it was too good to be true! That's when I started researching about the company before ordering. There were so many mixed reviews, mostly negative. The reviews claimed of not getting the correct product, not receiving the product weeks after purchasing, unhelpful customer service, and losing out on money after not being reimburse. With so many negative reviews I was hesitant to order from this company. Normally I never would have ordered, but I really wanted these lab coats and it would have been impossible to get coats of this quality at that low price from anywhere else, so I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I decided to order as I didn't need the coats for two months (in case the shipment was delayed as the reviews claimed), and they had the option to use PayPal. PayPal's Buyer Protection covers the purchase if the product never arrives or if the product arrives different then ordered (both of the issues other customers had in negative reviews). I figured best case scenario I would get these lab coats for an amazing price, worse case I would be able to file a dispute with PayPal and get my money back. I ordered using PayPal as payment on February 14, 2019... got an email that my product had shipped on February 15, 2019... and received my order within a week. When I got my first box I was very nervous as only 12 out of the 26 coats had arrived and I thought they either ran out of the product (which I could not have only 12, I would have needed one for everyone, all or nothing) or messed up the order as other customers claimed. But within a day or two I got a second box with the rest of my purchase. The lab coats were new, and in great condition! I am so incredibly pleased I was able to have this opportunity to get such a great product at such a low, unheard of cost! I will definitely be viewing the site frequently to see what more they have to offer. I hope I will continue to have the same positive experience for future purchases!

If you are wary about ordering due to other reviews, I recommend that if you aren't on a time constraint give it a try, just be sure to use PayPal to purchase in case there are any issues with the order, you will be protected to get your money back!

Worst Customer service

I order multiple items and paid for the expedite delivery. I was supposed to get the items deliver on 6/15 and when I call the company they decided to jump my order and told me that I will get my order 4 days later than expected. I told the lady that I paid expedite and she said that they couldn't do nothing that if I want I can decline the delivery or she can send me a shipping label.

At that moment I understood that I made the worst decision of ordering with this company. If I can recommend you something do not purchase from this company. Your business is not important to them and their management don't care about you business. I even sent them an email to contact me to my personal email and I am still waiting for a respond. That tells you how important is for them.

I have been shopping Christian book.com for over ten years. I always have an excellent experience. They have a huge selection and great prices. The few times I had a problem with my order, the customer service was wonderful and helped resolve the issue satisfactorily. I highly recommend Christianbook.com.
