They answer the phone after one hour waiting and the call is interrupted at the half of the process and they don’t call back. Ridiculous and disappointing. Still waiting for an answer to have a medical appointment after 3 days when its an emergency. Not recommended at all.

Très bon website. Facile à naviguer . Les garanties sont excellentes par rapport au prix de subscription.
I recently purchased a year-long travel insurance policy with Chapka for worldwide coverage, and I have to say, it has been a terrible experience. I cannot recommend this insurance to anyone.
During my trip to Vietnam, I needed to use the insurance for a medical issue. From the start, it was extremely difficult to get clear instructions from Chapka on how to proceed. Between Chapka and Axa, I received conflicting information on how to handle the claim. After three attempts and finally speaking to someone who seemed knowledgeable, I was instructed to visit the nearest hospital and keep all invoices, which I did.
After my hospital visit, I contacted Axa as directed, but they told me they only cover expenses related to travel, such as taxi or hotel costs, and that medical expenses needed to be forwarded to Chapka. When I did this, I was met with rudeness from a representative named Richard Lam. He rudely told me that I shouldn’t have sent the medical expenses to him because Axa should cover them. I explained that Axa had already informed me they do not cover medical expenses and that Chapka, being the insurance company I purchased, should be responsible for resolving this, whether through Axa or directly.
Richard continued to be extremely unhelpful and rude, stating that I should understand my policy better and because I didn’t call a specific French number before going to the hospital, my expenses would not be covered. I had actually called the number as per the instructions on the app, but Richard ignored this fact and eventually stopped responding to my emails altogether.
The most frustrating part is that the expenses I was trying to claim from Chapka amounted to less than $40. If they can't even manage to cover such a small amount, I dread to think how they would handle a larger claim in a country like the US, where medical expenses can easily run into thousands of dollars just for a doctor's visit.
$40 might not be a significant amount, but when you pay for insurance, you expect to receive the service you paid for. If Chapka couldn’t handle this trivial claim, I seriously question their ability to manage more substantial claims. As many other reviews stated, they’ll do anything to not pay you, even if it’s obvious your claim should be covered by the insurance.
Save your money and protect your health by choosing a reputable travel insurance company like HeyMondo or Iati. My family has used these companies in the past without any issues.
Avoid Chapka at all costs!
Bottom line: They will try not to pay you even when it's 100% proven they have to. I had an accident with surgery plus immobilization, all the hospital paperwork, all the reasons to be covered, but they found a way to evade their responsibilities. Could I prove I was not drunk while mountain biking? I could not. Don't buy anything from them, it will be money spent for nothing.
The agent I talked to on the phone gave me the wrong information. I ended up subscribing to the wrong insurance for my world tour and not being insured while traveling. When I explained them I received the wrong information they just replied saying “we are sorry that you received the wrong information, we cannot do anything”. I now have to pay 2 insurances!
BIG SCAM,
I got this insurance for Canada and only AFTER I paid and signed they sent the the REAL contract where it clearly stated that the insurance DIDN’T cover for Canada. I asked for money back and they responded with “you can’t. Also you cannot expect everyone to know our insurance”
We had a very bad experience with this incurrence company!
We traveled in USA trusting them !!
My girlfriend had to visit an emergency room in Florida after suffering a really bad hear pain !
Since on the card of ,,CAP Assistenca” (the first thing you check in an emergency situation) is written ,,If required contact assistance to verify coverages and arrange claim payment” (There is not written MANDATORY), we went to the closest hospital !
After receiving the bill from the hospital yesterday (after 1 month) we sent them the bill and we got the answer that would not be reimbursed because we didn’t call them before visiting an hospital!
If you are in an emergency situation and have to go to the hospital you cant spent on the phone extra 30 mins. I am saying again an EMERGENCY SITUATION.
I didn’t do any expenses. The invoice came just now from the hospital. I called several times with the company before i got the invoice and inform them that I was waiting for this invoice.
If i would be travelling alone and have a serious accident who is supposed to call them before???
And how am i suppose to call +39 06 89 38 64 73 from USA?
This makes thing more complicated instead of helping you in a stressful situation!!!
After contacting them, via mail and social, they gave us a simple answer: ,,We regret to inform you that the medical expenses you are now reporting are not reimbursable.”
A insurance company is supposed to help the clients who payed for the insurance and trusted them if they get into the difficult situation.
STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND!
Ps. On social media they deleted my reviews several times, I hope here won’t happen!
We have suffered an accident with my wife and kid. Chapka has just avoided to give us any support for 10 days. After countless efforts from our part to contact them and send them the paperwork, they have just finally decided on Christmas Eve to answer that they will not cover the medical expenses for no reason and they have lied about our interaction with them. Avoid at all cost!!! You will save yourself from the anguish to deal with all of that in addition to the medical condition.
Don't use Chapka, It's almost a Fraud.
More than 4 months to try to just get a feedback on my request (money back after a quick Doctor meeting) to finally get the answer to check with the Sécurité Sociale (Public Insurance) and ask them directly.
It's just impossible to get any reimbursement from them
Chapka are the insurance company for the cancellation insurance when I made a campervan booking via Yescapa.com . I had to cancel the trip due to the illness of a family member. They refuse to pay out for no legitimate reason and I have lost 800 Euros.
Literally the worse insurance.
This got recommended by a friend and I am furious that I trusted them.
I spent hundreds to get a 12-month cover, and they have refused to refund any of my general consultations, even though it clearly states in the conditions that they refund these. I fought for weeks for my first few appointments, to which they finally caved, but I'm having yet another fight with them to gain a simple refund. 100% do not recommend.
My wife under VISA using this insurance went to the doctor for an emergency. Only asking the reimbursment for a doctor consultation and a few cheap medicine (about 30€). They refuse to reimburse telling us a call was needed prior going to the doctor. Nothing mention that on my contract, and they were unable to prove it, however they still refuse to reimburse. It means this insurance is completly useless, an other business based on money theft in the "startup nation" we are living in...
Really bad. I went to the doctor and she gave me some pills that belong to the area of gynecology. She also gave me a creme for pimples. I know pimples aren't covered, but I'm asking for the refund of the pills and they keep saying that they cannot refund the creme for the pimples. I've been arguing with them for one week... They ignore the pills and keep telling me about that creme.
I am NEVER using this insurance again. Next time I'll pay more but have a good one.
I am giving Chapka a 1 out of 5 because they are an extremely basic cover and did not reimburse me for any of my new medical bills on the basis that nothing I got was covered by them.
Their refund claiming process is also extremely complicated and not streamline at all. Clearly they try and make it as difficult as possible for their customers to get refunded. Multiple times I have had to chase them for answers as well.
I regret signing up with them and do not recommend their services at all.
