Flight from Hkng to Toronto today. I've asked for bottled water three times from three stewardess in a span of 2 hours. All said they would look and come back to confirm. Crickets! (nobody... See more

Worst Experience Ever
Worst Experience Ever! I would not recommend that anyone use their services. My mother has never travelled internationally & we have not seen each other in 4 years. I booked her a Domestic flight to Johannesburg (OR Tambo) in South Africa, as she lives quite far away for the airport. She got her baggage at the Domestic terminal & went to find the check in counter for Cathay Pacific. She was misguided x3 times by Airport staff & when she finally arrived at check in, she was exactly 5 minutes late & they just kept on saying there is no way for them to assist her at all, I tried talking to them very nicely and explaining that she was on time at the airport. My mother started getting emotional to which the two ladies unwilling to assist, laughed at her - Their names: Polesha & Nozipjo, which is really unasked for, laughing at an older lady extremely emotional about the situation at hand. Offering zero support! I then asked them to talk to their manager, to which they proceeded to tell me they had zero contact with theit manager, which I find extremely hard to believe. Since the airport staff of Cathay Pacific were very unhelpful and laughing about this matter, I resorted to calling Cathay Pacific.. 40minutes on the call, only to be told they have no way of contacting their staff at Johannesburg OR Tambo, to allow her to go through. Which I also find extremely unproffesional, how can you not have contact with your employees. They then proceeded to say I needed to change her flight date.. the only next available date being 2 April, instead of 17 March. Since she lives so far away from the Airport, with no family near the airport, there was no way we could allow for that date & was forced to cancel the flights - which meant losing money on the flight via Cathay Pacific & also losing money on the domestic flights & shuttle bus she needed to get there. I was forced to then also change her domestic return flight to return the same day & contact the bus to fetch her, which also cost extra money for a cancelled trip. Besides all the money loss, my mother had a extremely bad anxiety attack in the airport whilst being on a video call with me, thank goodness for the people that assisted her & then escorted her to the check in for a domestic flight back home.
I have personally been late to a flight check in, nearly 15mins and have alwaya found airline staff members to be understanding and helpful, getting me through to the airplane on time. Seems Cathay Pacific does not care for their clients health & finances, as they would rather not assist an elderly lady being 5 minutes late, than being understanding that she was late due to airport staff not being helpfup. I will NEVER use Cathay Pacific again & will advise everyone I know to not use their services. Worst day in my mother's life, we are both devastated & she is still in shock and anxiety due to this.

I came yesterday March 12 2026 from Hkg to jfk business class. Forgot to give the AA mileage no for the flightCX 840. Called Cathy today and after 30-40 mins on the phone they said that they cannot help.
This is just shows how unbelievable this airline is. In Etihad,Emerites,Air India, British Airways you call them next day and they will honor your request.incase if Cathy wants to rectify pls do let me know.
I will givr my info.
Very stupid website
Very stupid website, service and what not. Such a huge huge waste of time
LOST LUGGAGE + NO COMPENSATION
Cathay Pacific lost my luggage on December 4th 2025 and it is now march 10th 2026. No refunds, no compensation, no communication provided. WORST AIRLINE EVER! I have flown over a 100 times and never ever had my luggage lost, and been treated this way. They have almost no way of actually contacting or speaking to anyone that can provide actual answers. Not to mention during the process of losing my luggage they provided me with a website to track my luggage, this website updated saying my luggage had been found but after countless calls, whats apps, and emails they said the website updated was faulty. Now it’s been 3 weeks since I submitted my luggage claim to get compensation, and they finally emailed me. They said “didn’t you receive your luggage already?” are you kidding me. So incompetent. NEVER FLYING AGAIN
Warning do not use this airline!!
Do not use this airline!!! They cancelled my flight in September last year, due to the earthquake. Since then I have spent over 12 hours on the phone and made 8 phone calls trying to get a refund for the flight that the airline cancelled. Each time I call they say someone will call me back, they have never called me back. The last 2 times I have directly spoken to supervisors that say they cannot offer the refund and I have to wait for a call back. I still have not had a call back nor received a refund. I have calls voice recorded. My theory is that they just keep saying they will call me back with no intention of calling me back and hope that I will just give up. I will never use this airline again and urge others not to use this airline!! Please spread the word not to use this airline and the horrible scenario I have been dealt with after using them.
I’d give it 0 stars
If I could give it 0 stars, I’d do that. Cathay Pacific has the worst service in the whole world. They prioritise having a LEAN working model, which completely strips away any signs of actual humanity in their customer experience. I’m especially appalled by how last century their digital app and WhatsApp customer service platforms are. Seriously, this year marks Cathay’s long awaited 80th anniversary but I highly doubt it’ll last for another 80 years.
Impossible to contact and get a response
After flight was cancelled due to super cyclone last September. After waiting for a response for more than 24 hours on their WhatsApp contact we never ended up with response when trying to reroute journey back to Sydney. On return, we were advised cost of seat booking would be refunded. We booked via a travel agent and they had to request the refund on our behalf. That was over 4 months ago. Cathay just do not respond. I think they try and wear you out so you give up. I have spent hours following up with travel company. C
Cathay chat line useless, you can’t speak to a person. You just go round and round in circles. I won’t fly with them ever again. Incredibly unprofessional company.
Fight gets cancelled
Fight gets cancelled. No refund nothing. After a lawyer demands they paid. Terrible company. I would never fly with these amateurs
Also cause of delays we missed our connecting flight with them. Also no refund. Nothing.
Flew YYZ to HKG return in Business…
Flew YYZ to HKG return in Business Class Service was just about non-existent Food was just about inedible
Crew were okay but could not speak much English so it was very difficult to ask for anything. Thay just need to be better trained on international flights
Probably would not fly again with Cathy Pacific
Should I thank you for doing nothing?
Should I thank you for doing nothing?
I think it would be optional if want to go elsewhere but not take a trip with the airways that lacks of flexibility, accuracy even procrastinating to send a system mail to change your personal information
It's a joke not airways, okay?
One star was my overrated score
Flew Los Angeles to Hong Kong and back…
Flew Los Angeles to Hong Kong and back in premium economy. The only good thing about my flights was the extra leg room. Food was basically inedible, and service was lousy. Crew are polite, but that's about it. They are ineffectual and really don't care. Plane was shabby and clearly from the 1990s. In flight entertainment was unusable as the devices are SO old and don't function. Many things are broken and or don't work. A bad experience overall. And this is in PREMIUM!
Awful experience starting from the…
Awful experience starting from the London. learn to smile. that will improve the service. was late for four hours. Had to pay extra for the approved allowance of weight as it was in two baggage. worst air line experience. DO NOT FLY IN CATHEY PACIFIC
We travelled from Heathrow to Hong Kong…
We travelled from Heathrow to Hong Kong in mid January and returning end of January. We was in economy. The cabin crew was great in both directions. Meals was hot and filling. Drinks was offered an many times during the flight. There was plenty of room between the seats, well for us we are 5ft 7. There was plenty of movies and TV series to watch as well as games. Thank you Cathay Pacific. We will be booking with you next time we go on Holiday.
Never Again - Terrible Seat Comfort, 30 Degree Heat,
Won't travel with Cathay Pacific again.
Travelled London Heathrow to Hong Kong return.
The most uncomfortable economy seats I have ever travelled for a long haul flight. I am only 5ft 3, and the seat length did not support the whole length of my leg and there was hardly any padding both on the seat and back of the seat. No lumbar support at all.
Two hours into a 14 hour journey, I thought I would need to stand for the remaining 12 hours, and frequently stood during the journey.
All the extra leg room seats were occupied by people just over 5ft. I could see tall gentleman struggling the whole journey, as they could hardly fit into the seat pitch. I had a tall gentleman behind me, whose knees dug into my back the whole journey, which was not his fault.
The temperature on both inbound and outbound journeys was approx 30 degrees or over, with little or no aircon. There are no air blowers for each seat.
There was only two meals on the 14 hour return flight, with no offer of drinks or snacks in between meals on the flight.
The cabin staff I have to say were great on both legs.
the airport staff in Mumbai
the airport staff in Mumbai. They all want some under the table money I guess. I was harassed for having a carry on as well as a back pack which they asked me to weigh. In contrast leaving from Toronto no one asked me about my back pack but even added my carry on to the check in. But the Mumbai experience really soured my taste about Cathay. They should seriously look into this unless a top amangement person is involved. On the plane the staff were nice and friendly and unlimited supply of Chivas Regal.
Impossible to Book Online: "Payment Loop" Glitch & Unhelpful Support
I recently attempted to book a flight through the Cathay Pacific website, but the experience was incredibly frustrating due to a persistent technical failure in their payment system.
Every time I reached the final checkout step to enter my "Safe Key" / OTP for verification, the site would freeze, go to a white screen, or loop back to the beginning without processing the payment. I tried multiple browsers and devices, but the "payment loop" glitch made it impossible to complete the booking.
I contacted Cathay Pacific customer service for assistance, hoping they could honor the online price over the phone. Instead, they quoted me a fare 40% higher than what was advertised on their own website. They then deflected the blame, insisting I contact my bank.
I called my bank immediately, and they confirmed there were no blocks, no attempted charges, and no issues on their end. The problem is entirely with Cathay’s payment gateway.
After wasting hours trying to give Cathay Pacific my money, I gave up and booked with Emirates instead. The fare was slightly higher, but their website worked instantly, and my card was processed without a single issue. It is unacceptable for a major airline to have such a broken booking infrastructure and then penalize customers with higher phone fares for their own technical failures.
Last time on Cathay
1) Their app was a big let down: trying to get a password sorted was painful. Followed their criteria and the app still said "not secure" enough though all the criteria were met. When I chatted with the helpline, they said on occasion, their actual criteria is higher than what is laid out. When asked about the actual criteria, they said it was a secret????? The expectation was to keep trying to form a password???
2) At Hong Kong International Airport, the ground staff shunted us to use the app to check in luggage. After the ground staff tried for a long time, they couldn't get it to function and asked us to use the manual counter. In summary, they are still testing and the functionality is really quite lousy.
3) Inflight entertainment is dated
4) Food quality was poor.
5) The quality at Cathay Pacific is really far below their near rivals from Emirates, JAL or SIA.
...and this is the famous Cathay pacific???.🤮
What an ordeal,700 pounds of obsessive no-reply marketing emails supposing that i would have spent my holiday reading about the wonderful world of Cathay airline this and that ,up and down and i did not even get a bar code after the ceck in??!..Is this the famous Cathay airline?I'll stick to easy jet!.Most user unfriendly website that traps you into a membership processing you as a can of spam on a production line and that's how i felt being shoved accross the ocean like lifestock.Bullied by rude crew with no manners, addressing you short of ordering you behind their face masks.Stuck in the worse seat,at the end of the craft with someone breathing acidic garlic on me from Honk Kong to London,i must have locked my self in the toilet around 15 times just to breathe free.Total lack of human touch,so impersonal and regimented,i would not wish such an experience to my worse ennemy.Took me a week to recover from the flight and ,as soon i was ready,i deleted my account and cancelled my subscription
Was told they were the best so I gave them a try...
Poor service with cleaning plates from passengers after meals on LAX-HKG round-trip. Numerous passengers actually getting up and taking plates to galley after meal. My infotainment system malfunctioned during 14 hour flight. Loud talking across cabin at 2am on despite most of us wanting sleep. Underwent another screening at HKI for connecting flight even though screened at origin. On return to LAX one more additional security screening at gate as well (total 2x at HKI for return to LAX). Both flights saw inability for pilots to avoid continuous and sometimes moderate turbulence even in middle of cabin. Baggage claim took 45 minutes at LAX, longer than I have ever waited. Never will use them after over 10 cross-Pacific flights this was the worst airline I have used.
