first order arrived very quickly and was highly impressed. Placed another order in March and have only just recieved an update with updated tracking. Its a shame as they have a good image and are hi... See more

Thought I’d give ‘them’ another go
Thought I’d give ‘them’ another go, so ordered from their miss society website. Yes they’re the same company!
Anyway, it seems I’ve been given a false tracking number as my items apparently shipped on the 13th via a Royal Mail 48 service and were meant to get to me no later than the 16th. Here we are a week on and Royal Mail don’t even have my parcel, the tracking even states ‘sender dispatched item on Jan 7th’ I’ve contacted them, as I no longer want my order but a refund. I’m yet to hear anything back.
Wish I never bothered.
Awful company to deal with
Awful company to deal with. The owner Tara is so full of her self and so rude. If you want a refund forget it. She removes any negative comments on her FB group then turns comments off so no one can have their say. Quality has gone down hill and sizing is awful. And when will she learn pre orders don't work. Because she's got no clue how to even run her business properly. The only thing she can run. Is running her customers down. And the quality of the clothing. If anyone wants decent cheaper leggings and dresses exactly the same as this company sells. Head over to the cheeky little magpie. Lovely service.

After writing a review how bad quality of my Lola Blouse I am so not impressed when someone from Carolina phones me as soon as it’s submitted when I am literally trying to get ready for a funeral. When told them this they could not care less . They have such a reputation as pushy sales people whose subject comes up in conversations to the point where friends will not go into their shops when certain sales people are working. Definitely overpriced
A little bit torn
Over the last 10+ years I have ordered many dresses and a few pairs of joggers/leggings from CDR. I decided to order a pair of the pjs and see what they were like with a view to ordering more. I ordered the size 3 as I am a 26/28, so the top is ok in size until it gets to the belly, then it grips. And the bottoms grip from the thigh upwards, so if someone who was a 32 ( the size they supposedly fit upto) it would be like wearing a second skin. The material is lovely and thick, but the size is so skimped. I won't be ordering anymore, which is a shame as the prints look amazing

I used to love this company but the admins on the group are so rude and accuse you of doing things you've not done. It's a real shame they really are letting the company down by their attitude. Plenty of other companies out there care about their customers. I will shop elsewhere in future.
Nasty pieces of work. Bullies who harass ppl at all hours
I have supported this business since around 2016 when it was small and before people really knew about them. I own over 300 dresses and I love wearing them. I was a member of their fb group for many years. In 2021 I had a message from one of their admin team saying I had blocked an admin. I assured them I had not and they asked me to prove it. I said I had no reason to block anyone. I left the group. I recently rejoined the groups a couple of months ago. Tonight I see my name tagged in a post saying please contact admin, we have an important message. I immediately message them saying I've had this before and is it the same thing again? They just kept reading my messages and not replying. I said it's 9pm on a Friday night and I'm on my works Christmas party. Low and behold it's the same thing again. Harassing me and saying I've blocked an admin. There are multiple admin on there and I'm not there to cause trouble. I've spent 1000s of pounds with this company and I'm made to feel like a criminal. The quality has gone down and the prices up. Not enough stock made. I'm afraid it's adios from me and I hope your business and your set of nasty, childish Admins reap what you sew
AI slop and low amounts of items
Utterly disappointing.
The brand and their sister brand Miss society used to be great, however over the past year the quality of the fabric has gone down, which multiple people have complained about, the issues with getting in contact or being told when an order has been shipped and now they are printing ai slop onto jumpers and wanting £34?!? No chance.
There has also been an issue with only small batches of stock being ordered and the owners constantly asking buyers on the Facebook groups to buy old stock that didn’t sell well.
I know it is so hard to get fun, plus-sized clothing in the uk but I can’t support a brand that is using ai in advertising and in their clothing prints.
If you want to get anything they’ve sold in the past, I’d 100% suggest getting them second hand online as they pop up all the time.
AVOID
Well this is a rather sad review.
I fell in love with CDR and have purchased many items and love each one.
In July I purchased 2 pairs of leggings 1 being a gift for 25th September. You would think my friend would have her gift and be wearing them with pride WRONG.
1 pair arrived at the beginning of September with a note saying the others (gift) will follow.
We are now 12 weeks after purchase and still not received.
I have emailed, contacted via Facebook and commented on posts on Facebook and not had 1 response. Instead of responding commenting gets turned off and you are ignored. I have made a request for a refund but considering they have ignored me I don't expect to get a refund either.
I would like to get this matter resolved as a matter of urgency.
I will join many others and say avoid this company at all costs. I will not use this company again and will order my quirky clothes from Lama going forward.
Horrible customer service now.
Horrible customer service now.
had an issue with a dress and the material is thinner and smaller than the other dresses we have in the exact same style
not the only person to bring this issue up and had multiple people agree with photographic evidence however whenever you bring it up asking about it - even on a post about how they’re not happy with some dresses that have just come in - comments get turned off and you get ignored by the admins when this is quite important as paid full price back in end of may/june and the material on the chest is already cracking and ruined
They also state that there will be no more discounts and everything but then the next day discounts appear as they need to “clear stock”
would avoid the company now and not buy from them, they’ve gone down hill i used to love CDR and now it’s a nightmare to try and get information from them!

Sadly get banned from the group if you try to give some advice; ie get more mods let them have access to the email etc. Stop and go back to basics. You’ve seen how Irregular Choice has now gone you’ll be next!
Disappointed
Very often, I will be Waiting months for items to be delivered with no communication at all. Then items are refunded, without any communication or apology's, due to them now being out of stock.
Please treat your customers more kindly.
However I would like to leave a balanced review and need to say the items are of excellent quality that I do often recommend to others and I often buy for gifts for others.
Which is why I’m so disappointed when they do not send the items I have waited weeks/months for.
Do you fancy a fake dress of the latest craze, step right up
Unfortunately don’t follow copyright laws, all prints made by ai. They target disabled people and cause fear of missing out by using codes or preorders forever changing the rules.
They clearly go ooo this is popular latest being labubu and demon hunter, I might of given chat gbt ago and made a better design with no knowledge of the film…
My favourite has to be the acotar dress that was so far from acotar related and the lap dress which was completely wrong.
No doubt the la bubu will end up in the terrible unlucky dip.
Fed up of miss match of communication
Fed up of miss match of communication. Been following for years and bought many items. They have tried to do pre-orders on and off but they don't work because the orders don't arrive within the 3 weeks they advertised so it annoys the customer because they don't update anyone. Loads ask then you might get a vague 'order should be here soon' more weeks pass still no orders.
Order from June, arrived with a written note saying one of your dresses hasn't arrived. Contact the page answer- we haven't received it yet with no explaining of when it will come in.
Any negative comments get deleted, they hide the truth about the company. So everyone comes here instead. When they get too many negatives, we are not doing ore orders anymore we are going back, then days later another pre order, now another post about them being a small company and costs.
Decide your brand, decide the order process and be honest. It's just a muddle and no direction.
Fed up just give us orders from June that should have been 3 weeks. There is no need to have so many new items, it seems daily lately there is something else
Honestly getting worse
Really not surprised anymore at the absolute chaos that this company continues to bring down on their loyal customers.
Always giving discount codes at random points but lots miss out. Say they won’t be doing anymore, then straight back to doing them. Then more discounts and sales on dresses customers have preordered at full price before they even arrive in the post to us! Very frustrating especially as the price of items just keep going up also but then are discounted before you’ve even worn them!
All orders brought in as preorders even though lots of people protest. Then stop these, then restart these. Lots of issues with it and now back to normal releases.
Announcement today for 2 new brands again. So 2 websites… Carolina Dress Room & Miss Society. A new Facebook group Ravenna Coven and new (previously used) brand Dark Alice. Although darker prints are always released regularly, no idea why the change needed again! People will be even more confused than ever, I can see it coming!
Step up
Good iteams for sale but bad communication and a out dated poor website is letting this company down. Still waiting for my order.
I never should have returned!
The only consistent thing from this company seems to be the sheer lack of customer service. I love to support small businesses, but over the years, it has become more and more apparent that CDR just don't care about their customers at all. I should have learnt my lesson but I did an order on 1st June, with a delivery estimate of 2-3 weeks. By July, no update, no dispatch so I emailed them on the address shown on the order email. I get an automated response saying the mailbox is full (wonder why...). So I email on another email address that's advertised on their website. No reply.
I messaged on Facebook to be told "I don't have access to the emails" ... What?!
No updates on delays. Happy to take your money but not provide any kind of customer service and no real promise to deliver anything when they say they will. I've previously had issues with wrong items being sent, not being refunded properly, etc etc.
Unfortunately, I completely give up now. It's exhausting dealing with this company when you have to continually chase them up.
What used to be a cheap and cheerful purchase has become expensive for poor quality, poor service, and way more hassle than it's worth.
Issues have been persistent for years and years, and they choose to ignore them rather than improve their service. This is not a company I wish to support any longer.
Returned items and never got a refund…
Returned items and never got a refund £100 lost, just can’t get a response and we were busy with a child in hospital and I missed the opportunity to try and get our credit card company to help. As I had had previously very slow customer service I kept thinking they would sort it out eventually but 2 years on and I have no refund and no clothes as they were sent back.
Wiped my hands of CDR now.
Gosh. I used to love CDR. I have well over 100 dresses and well over 200 leggings. Not to mention joggers, skirts, flares, shorts, dungarees.
Customer service is pretty lacking. They still operate out of Facebook, which is ridiculous for such a large scale business. I ordered 3 skirts about a year or so ago, all size 1s. They arrived and the labels said size 2! When I questioned it, I was told they were labelled wrong and they were size 2. This was a LIE. I can't wear them because of how big they are, but by the time I actually wore them, it was too late to do anything about. So they got away with sending me the wrong size and keeping my money. Horrific.
Sizing is RIDICULOUS. They say they cater to the "smaller sizes", but they don't. The size 1s? They supposedly fit 8/14uk. A size 8 CANNOT look good in something a size 14 can wear! I know people that are a size 18/20 and wear the size 1s!! Clearly, they do not care about the smaller sizes. They should just advertise as a plus size business with the potential for a smaller person to fit with a tight belt. But that's what happens when you get clothes made in a little shop in China.
They tease things that people REALY want and then never deliver and wonder why people get annoyed, but will bring out loads of new releases. Tara teased a load of amazing flares almost 4 months ago, no communication. When one poor woman put a comment about it a few weeks ago, Tara was very rude with her response and yet still gave NO update. Hilarious. Yet we keep seeing brand new releases. Not professional at all.
I have now moved to other HANDMADE businesses that size accordingly, are actually handmade by themselves in their UK shop. Amazing quality, amazing sizing and AMAZING customer service. Kiddin Around have many dress options to choose from and you can have personal alterations. It's amazing. Alice+Harry is also amazing for bottoms. I have now wiped my hands of CDR, which is so sad after 5+ years of buying and many thousands of pounds spent. It's no longer worth it.
Overall positive experience
I have left a review before but wanted to give an update on my experience.
In the last year since I started purchasing from the company, I have seen positive changes. The shipping times is a major one. Before, I was sometimes waiting up to 5-6 weeks to receive items (not on preorder). The average now is about a week.
Communication has improved (with room for further improvement). I have seen Tara try to be more visible on the group. Natalie is very active on the Miss Society group so there is a better experience than before. What I feel could be improved is details around launches on CDR. I have noticed some items have been shown but not materialised, or others stated they are arriving on x date or launch on y, but that date comes and goes. Even an update to say sorry, it'll be delayed until further notice would be beneficial. Personally, I am not too bothered by the delays, but I empathise with the frustrations of others, especially those who may have vouchers to spend.
I haven't attended a live in a long time due to my work schedule, but also frustrations with some "customers". I definitely felt there was someone who would be quite crude and overwhelming in the chat (who, coincidentally, would also buy items across all sizes to immediately list for 3x the cost on Vinted). I have blocked these individuals as I found they just made the live experience frustrating. I appreciate nothing can be done if products are sold on external sites, but admin do also have the power to ban accordingly. No issue with people selling on if they changed their mind at the price they paid.
I will admit the Facebook groups and the changes have been confusing. I feel Tara would benefit from running a poll to see what customers would prefer and going ahead with that. Again, I don't personally care about two websites and two sets of postage, but others do. There has been muddied waters with similar prints being sold across both websites so some clarity on what CDR and Miss Society actually stock would be helpful. In my mind, CDR being vintage would be 50s style dresses like other brands sell with vintage patterns. Miss Society would then be everything that is currently sold (including the stretchy dresses in all styles).
I've always found staff and admins to be friendly and cannot criticise interactions I have had. However, I feel there is a lot of negativity on the Facebook group and its that that has made me visit less. I understand complaints with orders and not getting timely responses, but I feel there are a lot of people in the group who obviously aren't happy with the brand (and haven't been for a long time) and chastise the company at every given opportunity. I believe in voting with your feet and if you feel that strongly, leave. Again, there was one particular member of the group who was just unpleasant to admin and other members so I blocked them as well. I don't understand why you would continue to engage with the brand if you haven't bought in so long.
I love the dresses and a lot of the prints. Personally I welcome the changes coming in designs as I feel it did get very Disney centric for a while. That's okay for a certain crowd, but it would be nice to see more "grown up" designs for everyday wear - I don't mean this rudely either. I don't mind Disney and anime, but a more eclectic mix of patterns would be lovely. I see more requests have been put out so hopefully we see some more variety.
I can't beat CDR on their dresses and leggings. I do shop with other brands who provide similar items, but sometimes the sizing is off or there isn't the same designs available. I've got a good wardrobe from CDR and would continue to purchase from them.
My only other recommendation, bar communication improvement, would be fewer releases and more availability across the sizes. New designs fly out and a week later there's new ones. It is difficult to keep up and is becoming a costly venture. Having one monthly release would be more manageable as a customer. Size 2s and 3s fly off the shelves so more stock in those sizes would be great. I know there's been backlash regarding small 1s, but in the time I've been buying, there hasn't been the demand for them. I don't advocate scrapping the size entirely, but definitely revising numbers based on the popular sizes. There has been mentions of updating the websites to filter sizes and in stock/our of stock. I agree that would be useful for all. I am also sure there could be some sort of way to make the postage costs dynamic based on the weight, rather than a flat fee. I didn't know about the item limits in a parcel up until fairly recently - this was not clear. I have seen it be advertised in the groups now, but this really needs to be on the website too.
I hope this comes across as a fair review. I think there's still room to improve and provide a better service to customers.
great products, please take CC on board
I have been a customer for about 5 years. i love the fit of the teadresses and therefore most of my wardrobe is CDR. i only buy the horror/spooky prints as the cartoonish ones just arent my bag but they get some awesome prints. downside is echoing what others have said, the customer service isnt great, and it hasnt been since i discovered the brand, a few times we have been told changes are being made but nothing changes. the website is awful, i feel like they could sell so much more if they upgraded it a little. i would also wait until items come in to advertise them as people get so annoyed asking the same questions and getting no answers.
this isnt a hate post, i love the brand but im hoping with reading some of the construtive criticisms then the brand can do even better and keep customers on board as there are a few similar brands in the UK.
