Product is ok its the dispenser
Product is ok its the dispenser.
Its useless and jams all the time.
I ended up throwing in bin.
What’s happened to your sweetener…
What’s happened to your sweetener tablets?! They simply are not dissolving properly no matter how long in the drink and no amount of stirring , just white spots floating on top!
Will not be buying again
I noticed after using the pips for 25 years
I noticed after using the pips for 25 years the white particles floating to the surface of my tea and the dispensers are rubbish, they jam every time.
What alternative is there other than changing brands!
Sort it out canderel if I can't dispense your product I will change.
I actually like the new formula
I actually like the new formula. What I don't like is a company that does not take into account environmental considerations - they have stopped selling the large boxes of refills and now you have to buy those rubbish red individual dispensers. So I'm moving to Stevia
Canderel have changed their formula…
Canderel have changed their formula from aspartame to sucralose. Apparently in response to public tastes! What utter bunkum. Canderel was the best sweetener on the market, but not anymore. I won’t be buying again. Annoying that the company didn’t tell its users the truth about the change.
Dispenser absolutely cheap and nasty
Dispenser absolutely cheap and nasty. Doesn't work and sticks in one position. Cost £3.30 for 300 and I can't use it properly. One star
Canderel totally disappoints.
Canderel needs to put out a statement to its customers explaining why their sweeteners no longer dissolve as well as they used to. They also need to sort out their pill dispensers which now no longer even last for the duration of that batch, let alone a refill. A cheap and nasty dumbed down version of the old Canderel now exists.
Red tablet Clicker jams or breaks…
Red tablet Clicker jams or breaks tablet or doesn't dispenser. As I have 2 refill boxes I contacted Canderel saying I didn't want any freebies just a Red dispenser that works. They send me small & large clickers inc tablets - guess what dispensed about 6 tablets and same old issues.
I wasn't aware they'd changed ingredients but have notice they sit in bottom of your brew after stirring.
Ive tipped my tablets into little pot will not be using again!!
I just bought a jar of Canderel Sugary…
I just bought a jar of Canderel Sugary and am very disappointed that they have changed the recipe to Sucralose without providing any clear indication, apart from the small print.
This used to be an Aspartame and Acesulfame-K sweetener and, to me, this tasted good. Sucralose, on the other hand, has an unpleasant metallic bitterness that lingers on the tongue. I can still taste it 30 mins later.
Needless to say, I won't be buying this again.
Longer to dissolve
Have been a user of candarel tablets for many years I need to check if I’m too old - too senile or any other reason BUT are the latest tablets taking longer to dissolve and are less sweet. It’s how it appears to me.
I absolutely agree with all these…
I absolutely agree with all these recent comments. I thought it was just me but so relieved it’s not! The tablet will not dissolve so it just floats on top of my coffee. The after taste is horrible. I think I may have to revert back to a small amount of sugar.
Vile
The new formula is so bad it’s turn me to sweetener free tea/coffee. The aftertaste is just vile. At first I thought it was my taste buds however after googling I’m not alone.
I cannot believe that Canderel has changed.
I cannot believe that Canderel has changed the recipe. I thought it was me. I have been using for many years and I have two in a large cup. Sometimes I have to put 3 in to taste. This is on top of wasted tablets due to dispenser problems that has been going on for a long time. .
I will now look for an alternative.
Disappointed
Have used Canderel for a long time. Unfortunately have just opened another new one and once again the dispenser isn't working!!! Will have to look for another sweetener, cannot afford to keep throwing them away!
Canderel what have you done !! ?
I am totally in agreement with the other reviews, I have been meaning to investigate what has happened to the sweeteners for a while, I thought it was me!!, but now I know. The Dispenser is a disaster and often cuts the tablets In half, and the tablets are either sweet or non sweet, it varies by tablet, I don’t know if I will have a sweet drink or not.
I too am going to find an alternative.. So Paul Block CEO of Merisant I hope you read all of these reviews.. looks like you are losing your customer base.
I hadn't realised the formula had…
I hadn't realised the formula had changed, but noticed the taste differences. I had always used Canderel as it didn't leave a chemical aftertaste like all other sweeteners, now it does. I noticed a horrible aftertaste and changed my coffee beans and noticed it didn't get better when I changed back to my usual beans. Things aren't as sweet, I am left with an aftertaste. I will not be buying anymore unless it changes back.
Disgusting new taste - do not buy Canderel
What company changes the main ingredient in their product, without letting customers know, or making it obvious on the packaging - Canderel! They have replaced aspartame with sucralose in their original sweeteners and they taste BAD. I never bother with reviews but I'm honestly so disappointed with this company. I've been using Canderel for many years, and to think they were hoping to sneak this past their customers without anyone noticing! My tea tastes vile now with these new sweeteners, and I've just wasted £5.50 on a 500 pack of them too. I emailed them to complain and was told their reason for the change was.. 'Specifically, we aimed to provide a vegan friendly alternative'. I replied asking if this is an alternative, then where is the original? I'm now awaiting a response.
Still call it "Original" but it isn't…
Still call it "Original" but it isn't though is it?!
As many have now posted, the inadequately signposted change to their formula has resulted in a product that does not dissolve quickly enough. Despite repeated lengthy stirring, I now get a final mouthful of over-sweet tea and a residual lump of tablet when I finish my cup of tea. All so more people can "enjoy" their product. Not me. And as for the dispenser... don't get me started.
Don’t dissolve properly
The sweetners no longer dissolve properly and leave unpleasant white floaters in your tea. At first I thought this may have been a bad batch but this has happened with my last 3 dispensers.
Complained to canderel and they offer a replacement but that doesn’t resolve or explain the issue. I won’t be buying this product again.
Canderel table dispenser does not work
The Canderel dispenser just does not work. You can get any quantity from zero to 2 including broken pieces of sweetner. This has been a problem for many months (in fact probably years) and is getting worse. The product is not fit for purpose and should be fixed or withdrawn, They keep getting the same feedback but seem to refuse to do anything about it. I guess they like us to waste the product so we buy more. Maybe we should all stop buying it.
