Very professional and understanding
Customer service was great,Cabot took my debt over from my bank. An operative of Cabot phoned me and explained everything to me. The repayments were reasonable and affordable for me. They were very understanding of my situation. I received regular statements to keep track .
Miko was fantastic
Miko was fantastic, great personality and did everything he could to help me even when I suggested a plan that wasn't correct for the situation he could have easily gone along with me but knew what worked best and made sure we got it right.
I lost my business and nearly my house
I lost my business and nearly my house, 15 years later I am still paying debts now owed to Cabot. We have a controlled payment sheme. Unlike many, they do not chase every week threatening legal action or pester me constantly. No one wants debts, it keeps you awake at night, but Cabot don't make it worse.

Not suitable for Vulnerable adults
I found Cabot difficult to work with as a vulnerable adult. Everytime I explained my medical and financial situation I was informed I would be passed to a specific team, the team would then asses me and say I was unable to set up a payment plan. After the 3rd time of this circle pattern behaviour I was able to find a way to pay monthly without further contact, however despite paying regularly, I received letters weekly harassing me into trying to make a payment plan again and now they have passed my debt to a solicitor, reducing the accsessiblity for me to pay and leaving someone with autism to navigate a pathway. Suitable for people with Jobs not people in seriously vulnerable situations.

Disgraceful company
My experience with Cabot has been extremely disappointing.
My complaint was never simply about whether a CCJ could be updated following a partial settlement. I was fully aware of the position.
My complaint was about being passed between Cabot, Mortimer Clarke Solicitors and the Court, with nobody taking ownership or providing clear guidance. I was left having to chase different organisations myself to try and resolve an issue that was affecting my mortgage application.
Cabot’s response repeatedly focused on explaining why the CCJ remained as it was, but failed to properly address the actual issue: the poor handling of my enquiries and the lack of responsibility shown.
Even after raising this point, Cabot’s final review simply repeated the same argument and stated they disagreed that I had been passed around, without properly explaining how the matter was handled or why I was left to navigate between different parties.
A company can have a legal position, but that does not excuse poor communication, unclear processes and leaving a customer feeling like they have nowhere to turn.
I will now be taking this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Human approach.
Having dealth sith few creditors in my life Cabot was by far the most human. No waiting time to speak to someone, understanding of personal cirmustances- working with you, not solely focusing on a debt itself.
They do focus on "the quickest sustainable way" to pay off balance.
