If you want hair in your food, not once but twice this is the place for you!

First time and will be last time we will be dining at the restaurant.
Ordered the sharing platter which had a black short hair in the chicken satay,
Told our waiter when we discovered the black hair and he offered to replace the chicken satay dish.
In the meantime my friend had a prawn cracker and literally pulled a blonde hair out of it!!!!
Told the waiter who took the dish back to the kitchen to come back with team leader, plate in hand telling us we have no blonde hair staff in the kitchen and we should’ve have advised her as soon as we discovered the hairs! (which we did!)
So implying we were lying and wanting more starters complimentary!!!
In my response was what are you implying?
My hair is black and my friends hairs is brown!
Do you think we have a bag of hair in our pockets!!!!
We asked for the bill so we could leave and she advised us apparently we said we didn’t want to pay, in where my friend corrected her!
After such rude accusations service we left and went elsewhere!
When I ask if she was the Manager, she advised me it was her second day working at the restaurant and the Manager had left for the evening and there was a Supervisor on site (which we did not deal with and he didn’t care to speak to us)
Bad customer service!!!

Disappointing Experience at Busaba Stratford

A staggering waste of £57.00 at Busaba Stratford. While the service itself was perfectly functional, the food was an absolute travesty. We ordered two chicken pad thais and the calamari—formerly a signature appetiser—and they were all utterly insipid. The calamari was rubbery and unpleasant, while the mains were entirely devoid of the vibrant, aromatic complexity one expects from Thai cuisine.

The food was so pathologically bland and soul-sapping that we couldn't even finish our meals. In fact, we only requested takeaway containers because we didn't have the heart to bin such a dismal meal right in front of the staff. Furthermore, the children’s menu is a transparent rip-off, compounded by the sheer laziness of serving a child’s ice cream in a basic glass water cup.

I had to Google why a once-fantastic restaurant has fallen so far. It appears that in July 2025, Busaba Eathai went into administration and was acquired by Seaco Investments. The change is painfully obvious; the "operational efficiencies" of new ownership have clearly gutted the quality and soul of the menu. For a restaurant at this price point, the lack of effort is insulting. Save your money and your palate; this was an expensive lesson in corporate-led mediocrity.

uninspiring appearance and taste

The plate of vegetarian pad Thai I had yesterday at Busaba in Covent Garden was the most unappetising dish of food I have been served in 60 years of travelling in many parts of the world - including Thailand - as well as the UK. A uniform plate of beige noodles scattered with a few pieces of green vegetables. Taste was virtually absent. e. The waitress with unsmiling throughout.

First and Definitely Last Visit...

I recently visited this place and ordered the green curry with chicken and rice. Unfortunately, it was the worst green curry I’ve ever had. The sauce was incredibly watery and lacked any flavour. It honestly felt like the whole dish had just been reheated in a microwave. I couldn’t even finish it. This was my first and last visit. Very disappointing.

The spirit has gone

I had the veggie green curry and jasmine rice. It was so little food I was still hungry. I paid £5 for jasmine rice ( for me that should be cooked in coconut) but when I queried this, I was rudely told it was just a name of the rice)
The flavours were wonderful in the past but now it lacks something and is bland. It’s certainly not Thai cooking and the atmosphere was not great with waiters ignoring us.
The jasmine tea pearls were not pearls. I expected pearls unfurling and a nicer taste. This was nothing special at all. The spirit has gone out of this previously favourite restaurant chain of mine

Never again

Went to the Stratford location for dinner.

The prices are ridiculous given their portion sizes. I had the jungle curry which isn't very nice and costs £16 despite barely containing any chicken. Once you add Jasmin rice at £4.60, you've paid more than £20 for a disappointing main.

My friend had the Bang Kapi Katsu for £17.50. The curry sauce didn't taste nice and the chicken was overcooked.

The most astonishing thing was that the restaurant was busy.

Busaba should stop pretending it's anything to do with Thai cuisine and insult an entire nation.

We booked through their online system…

We booked through their online system for a party of 8 for this evening at 8.45pm. I've just had a call (10.55am on the morning we intended to go to Busaba O2) to say that the management do not want to stay open after 9pm at the O2 as trade is slow and so they can transfer our booking to another Busaba - which is a tube ride away. This is wholly unsuitable, unacceptable and unfair. What's the point in having a booking system that says you're open til 10 and then close at 9! Our plans for a lovely evening have been scuppered. I've never tasted Busaba food - but now never intend to. We booked the O2 Busaba because that's where we are doing another activity prior to eating! Shame on you Busaba!

We booked through the O2 Climb and Dine…

We booked through the O2 Climb and Dine experience but I also rang the restaurant well ahead of the booking to confirm. In spite of this they denied we had booked, even though I had a QR code and then grudgingly agreed to fit us in. The waiter told my coeliac sister which dishes she could eat but he was completely wrong and tried to serve her a dish that would have made her extremely ill. Luckily she insisted he take it back to the kitchen to check and they confirmed that it did contain gluten. Imagine if this had been a peanut allergy! The service was terrible, the food was edible but not great. I have filled in two feedback forms requesting an explanation but they never respond. They clearly couldn't care less. Beware of this restaurant if you have allergies.

Busaba was my favorite Thai 15 years…

Busaba was my favorite Thai 15 years ago. Food was amazingly great, there was a very Asian atmosphere in the air, the place had this lemon grass perfume that was really their signature. This week visiting London, I brought my family to Busaba. Sadly, food was disappointing, table was sticky, loud boring music… so not very good.

Shoddy

Well, what went right? After a 30min wait for drinks, the food had not turned up after one hour. When we complained and ended up stating that we were leaving as had a concert to go to, the staff were rude and insisted that they brought out the food to the table - most of which was wrong. Very shoddy and frankly rude. Should have went to Nandos...

Blocked when I couldn't answer their call

I called to make a booking and made/confirmed an appointment for today.
Whilst I was in my work meeting they tried to call me and when i called back they had blocked my number!

I finally called from a withheld number and they picked up, but lady shouted at me when I asked why did you block me! Then she hung up the phone on me. Now I am not sure if I even have an appointment at all.

I am surprised as they were nice on my first visit and I had a good massage, but I will NEVER go back to them. Who blocks their customers when they dont pick up the phone and then shouts at them? How RUDE!

Awful and overpriced

I revisited Busaba Thai in Westfield Stratford after a long time. I ordered my favourite Green Curry Chicken and Jasmine rice, but was shocked by what I received. The curry had a strange, unappealing green color, only four small pieces of chicken, and a few vegetables, all for the price of £16, which I found absurdly expensive. The taste was nothing like the delicious Green Curry I remembered from Busaba Thai; it was bland and unappealing. I was disappointed by the lack of flavour, strange green colour and put off by the high price. It made me wonder if Busaba Thai had changed ownership. Overall, the experience was awful, and I won't be returning.

Great Service

I dined in Busaba Eathai's Marylebone branch (St. Christopher's Place) and had the vegetarian green curry with coconut rice. The waitress Saru provided me with excellent service. She was attentive and took care of all my requests.

Busaba

We went to Busaba this evening in Wardour Street London. The food was very disappointing. The Aubergine curry was synthetic tasting. The black pepper beef dish was dry with very little beef. The Green Curry Jay was bland with very few vegetables.

Wardour Street experience

Had eaten at Busaba for many years but hadn’t been here since just before lockdown. After catching a theatre matinee, we decided to stop in for our favour dishes before heading home. I have no idea what’s happened to this restaurant but my first stop was a bathroom break before ordering food - the toilets were absolutely disgusting (they used to be spotless) and it’s worth pointing out that the kitchen is located downstairs in the basement right next door to them, where food has to pass the sinks and another door as the food lift in the bar upstairs is out of order (if people don’t wash their hands, your food will pass through that door as the staff have to open it to get out). They’ve also put out bright blue cleaning fluid in the handwash bottles instead of hand soap. Now for the food: the calamari was soggy, chewy and tasted nothing like the crunchy deliciousness I had come to look forward to, and they used the worst quality sirloin steak (tough, chewy, over seasoned with black pepper - I had to use a knife & fork to cut the slices into bite size pieces instead of using my chopsticks) with a mouth-burning dip on the side that tasted nothing like the tender steak they used to serve (£22 a pop I’d add!). Also noted that the as we walked in they didn’t even use the same incense sticks (anyone who knows Busaba knows that famous, gorgeous smell as you walk in). I can’t believe I’m writing this but I’m praying we don’t have food poisoning after that meal and sadly Busaba is now a no-no for us which is tragic as it was our favourite place for an impromptu dish when in Soho :-(
