Extremly expensive repair offer

I received an offer from Bertel O. Steen Drammen for repairing a faulty rearview camera and AVN unit on my 2017 Kia Optima. The total quote was over NOK 140,000, with NOK 120,000 just for the AVN unit — an amount that is excessive and unreasonable, especially for a vehicle of this age.

I contacted them with a written complaint and asked for more reasonable alternatives, including the possibility of using second-hand or aftermarket parts. They never responded.

The lack of any follow-up only confirms the poor customer service and lack of interest in helping customers find practical solutions.

Unless you're comfortable paying nearly the value of your car for one repair, I strongly advise avoiding this garage. Seek second opinions elsewhere — there are far more transparent and customer-friendly workshops out there.

The worst customer service I have ever encountered. Completely lacking in reasoning!


I have had to bring my car to the workshop three times for the same issue in less than two months. And every time, I have had to pay for some reason for the same issue. They attempted to carry out the initial repair in the most "economical" way, and I ended up paying more than if they had replaced the part during the first visit, which they didn't give me the option to choose if change or repair the piece. There is a complete lack of respect for the customer. This clearly reflects poor customer service and raises serious concerns about the workshop's competence.

BOS MOSS - An utter disgrace for the Mercedez-Benz brand.

This place is an absolute disgrace to be honest. No pride in their work. My father has done all of his services at B.O.S Moss over a timespan of several years. He is not very fluent in Norwegian. They have not once treated him with respect in regards of informing about the car or keeping promises. They don’t care. The manager looks like a crook out of a movie.

We have a car which is just a couple of years old and in pristine condition, or it used to be at least. Over the years the car just seemed to be in worse condition right after being at the shop. LITERALLY EVERY time a new issue popped up - brakes leaking on the way home, oil leaking, engine suddenly smoking. Right after being on service. They took zero responsibillity even if these events litterally occured on the way home from the Berteel og Steen workshop in Moss.

I am sorry to say, but it seems that these people deliberately ruin cars to cash in from insurence. The Mercedes Benz brand is supposed to ooze quality and be a gentlemans choice. These crooks should not be allowed to touch a car in their life again. They are putting people in danger and they don’t care one bit.
