I worked for several months with this company planning an 11 day visit to Bhutan in October 2025. I am a single, senior traveler and wanted to spend my time doing the things I prefer and not spending time doing things I don't prefer (i.e. shopping and eating meals at hotel buffets).
I travel a lot and prefer to use “in country” travel vendors. I feel they know their product well and I like that the money benefits the country I am visiting. However, this often requires wiring money to “unknown (to me)” places which requires a "leap of faith" (which can be where Trustpilot enters the picture).
Bhutan is an expensive country to visit, made more expensive because, like many Asian countries they add credit card fees. I was able to wire money to Swallowtail for just the wire fee. This company did a great job, was very responsive and carried through on every arrangement we had made. I took an 11 day, exclusive tour with driver and guide for perhaps less than using an international tour company and traveling with a group (shopping and eating at hotel buffets. I would use Swallowtail Travels again.
