Beehiiv has been easy to use for a novice like me. It’s intuitive and makes creating great-looking newsletters simple and repeatable. I really like the analytics and the steady stream of new features that make monetizing my newsletter easier. Best of all, Maggie in support has been outstanding! quick, detailed, and very helpful every time I’ve needed assistance.

It was extremely easy to setup and start a newsletter, even with a custom domain. I had mine up and running in a few minutes. The customization options are vast and the interface is great to use, even if I was a begginner on the internet.
I did, however, encounter a couple bugs in the editing UI but upon sending a request to the support team I was promptly responded and my issues addressed as such - they were actually bugs that had to be escalated.
I also realize I'm on a free trial period and from a business point it makes sense to offer the support feature to paying customers only. I just hope that the bug report option is still available when my trial ends.
That said, my newsletter is more of a hobby from which I'm not making any money from so it's kinda hard to justify the first tier of 50 USD a month on a hobby, specially if you live in a country where the exchange rate makes it extremely expensive (I live in Brazil).
So my feedback for Beehiiv is this: please create a lower tier for people who just want to write for fun. I'll happly pay it!

I love how easy it is to use. Thank you!🏆🔥🔥

I was having major issues accessing and updating some upcoming posts. I was sweating a time crunch and having no luck.
From a Slack post Conor came to my rescue. My situation didn't' make any sense. He was VERY patient and went through his diagnostics.
BAMM he helped me correct issues on my browser and now I'm off and running again.

Tier plan functionalities change all the time and are overhyped. Definitely not worth the price.

before I used beehiiv, my blog used to live in a git repository 90% of the time I was copying and pasting code and fixing SEO and it was horrible, but when I switched to beehive. It’s now been 99% writing my blogs, 1% website design and seo!

I tried Beehiiv because their platform looked promising, and I genuinely wanted to evaluate its full capabilities. But here’s the problem: the 30-day trial doesn’t give you access to key features — especially Web Builder 2.0, which is the main thing I signed up to test. That lack of access wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront.
So I upgraded, realized quickly that it wasn’t what I needed, and reached out to cancel and request a refund. Beehiiv refused, citing a strict “all sales are final” policy — even though I barely used the platform and contacted them well before the next billing cycle.
Instead of doing the right thing, they offered platform credit (for a product I already said I won’t be using) and recycled their terms of use as if that excuses everything.
I’ve since disputed the charge with my bank and won’t be returning. If you’re considering Beehiiv, be very cautious. Their trial is limited, their refund policy is inflexible, and their support is more interested in protecting revenue than supporting customers.

Beehiiv team keeps sending me promotional emails again and again. I'm really worried about their emails. I've already blocked them, but they still keep sending me messages.

Reply from beehiiv
Stay far away from them. They stole my money and my subscribers and locked my account with 0 EXPLANATION.
I had been using Beehiiv for 6 months.
LOVED IT! Easy UI, etc. Far better than Mailchimp.
They kept prompting me to join the Ad Network (super cool). Doesn't pay much, but why not, you know?
I did. For a few months it was great, easy, paid veyr little, but again was nice.
Built from scratch over 1.1k subscribers.
Then got my ad network access revoked. Asked support why, they said they didn't know, was an auto-trigger.
Then a month or two later. Got it revoked again. "Irregular subscribers," I asked what that meant. No response (4 days now, still no response).
Then they closed my entire account, BUT, get this, they're still charging me for an account they are preventing me from using.
I can't access my subscribers, my reports, nothing. They took 6-7 months of me paying the premium tier, all my subscribers, and the subscribers I generated for other newsletter they happily took money for, and the best response was them saying they couldn't tell me the reason why they took everything and blocked my account because of "security reasons".
Stay far far away from a company like this and backup everything if you currently use them because they will take it all away for no reason at all.
Mind you, I reached out on Reddit, IG, Facebook, Groups, legal, support, direct emails, and only got one very unprofessional email about not being able to give me ANY specific reason for "security reasons". Please don't believe that, there are 0 "security" reasons for them not being honest and transparent around why they ban accounts.
And when I finally had someone respond inside the Beehiiv chat (Connor). They seemed nice at first. Then said "can't help me" and that even though I have legal rights to the data I requested, that Beehiiv doesn't have to follow federal law. He also said he's not going to help me anymore because I'm not a paying member. I told him I was, I got charged TODAY, he instead kicked me out of Slack support.

Spam supporters. Beware of regulations, they don't care about them. Gdpr will for sure shut them down, so search for another server for ur web services. We'll, since you replied, I tried contacting you a month ago nobody gave a rat's ass about it, so, from my point of view, you are just acting like you care fighting spam and complying gdpr.

Reply response. Hi there, I've shared the email address connected to the account. When I click on help it says I need to be on a paid plan to speak to customer support. I've tried reaching out on socials but there is no way to reach anyone.
--------------------------------------------------
Invested a ton of time into building out my newsletter, creating a template for it, website etc. The platform is just so buggy. When I try and edit posts it just spins on a blank screen. So frustrating!
There is no option to chat to customer service until you become a paying customer. So no interest in converting people who are on the trial and run into difficulties.
Currently looking for an alternative :(

I don't understand all the negative reviews posted here - it seems like the reviewers are the problem as they're not giving the full story. After switching to Beehiiv from MailerLite, I've had a much easier time creating newsletter content for my small audience. Gaining subscribers was a walk in the park compared to the previous platform.
The only thing I would like to see more of is better landing page/website customization features, as that feels a bit limiting. Maybe I'm picky being a former Wix user, but I love having extra tools to customize - it would certainly help with branding! Hence the reason for the 4-star rating. The email templates are cool, could probably have more options, but I generally tend towards starting fresh with a blank so I can tailor it to my liking.
Overall, I love it and look forward to using Beehiiv consistently to grow my author newsletter!

Update: The same issue still prevails. Shows they dont care even when a major issue occurs. I've just signed up for KIT for my personal site.

I’ve been on Beehiiv for almost a year, and at first it was a game-changer - intuitive, reliable, and helpful. Then everything went sideways.
Here’s what happened:
Launched my second publication, only to find the advertiser pool suddenly drying up for both publications.
Spoke directly with a senior manager (who knew my first publication well) and shared all the details of the new project, to which he was supportive and said he'd send us opportunities.
For five straight weeks, we received one ad opportunity after another - publishing them brought in thousands in ad revenue.
Then, without warning, every penny was gone. No email. No call. No explanation.
We reached out three times to management & customer service and got the same vague response: Manager said that he couldn't comment (all of a sudden) and customer support hinted that “It might be a policy violation,” but couldn't/wouldn't confirm it. However they informed me that all earnings had been considered forfeited by Beehiiv- no reason, no breakdown, no chance to appeal.
I Felt Misled and Unprotected, what felt like a trusted partnership turned into a total blackout.
Losing a month’s worth of work and income, I’m left baffled-and out of pocket.
Beehiiv was my go-to solution for its ad network-until it wasn’t. With fewer advertisers and a policy that allows unilateral seizure of revenue without notice or explanation, I can’t, in good faith, recommend it. Save yourself the hassle and explore other newsletter platforms that treat you fairly as a partner.
In response to your reply: That's surprising to me, because we barely used boosts (as you can see from the account) and the feature was very underutilized. It's my strong opinion that the Boost concept itself is flawed, and I would never advise anybody to use it to monetize or grow. Largely because subs don't always understand which publication or how many they are signing up for, and so can easily become frustrated when they receive many emails from many different publications later on, and subsequently complain or cause spam reports. As you know, we were a victim of this when we first started with Beehiiv ourselves. So it feels particularly ironic and completely shocking that you're now accusing us of the same thing. Although it makes no sense to me, at least now, 6 weeks on, I have been informed of a 'reason' or as I would describe it, an 'excuse' for taking all of our advertising payouts for both our main newsletter and, more tragically, our social enterprise newsletter too. My account has never been blocked, I can still access and use it, but all funds have been wiped out of it. So, all this in mind, I completely stand by my Beehiiv review and my poor experience, particularly during 2025. In my opinion, if you're intending on putting a lot of time, effort and money into a project and are looking for all round reliability, you really are better off looking elsewhere.

Super super super frustrating software. Clunky and very frustrating. Embarassingly poorly laid out for styling. They seem to want to become a content publishing network instead of a newsletter software.

Reply from beehiiv
The clunkiest BS software I have ever encountered. Even getting out is hard.
The greatest example of US no consumer protection gen z garbage there is.
They’re deliberately clunky because they think that drives community engagement around problem solving. FMD!
Avoid at all costs!
Reply to your reply Beehiiv - and what were those tickets? And charging $60/m since. OK, lazy tax. Maybe be honest with customers out there. I’m doing fine, thanks for asking, but your software is garbage. Having been in the business for a while.

I believe Beehiiv is a company that has found its niche and is doing everything it can go grow and develop and support its clients.
Special shout out to Sha in support.

Agree with previous reviewers. Beehiiv suddenly became a spamming service. I got added to some nonsense newsletters without my opt in. Unsubscribe doesn't work. I reported the newsletter as spam following the Beehiiv published procedure of reporting abuse on their online form.
I got absolutely no response from Beehiiv and no removal from the spammers list. I keep getting the same spam.
A "newsletter provider" that doesn't honor unsubscribe requests and doesn't have an abuse function is not a newsletter provider - it's a spamming service.
Curiously, I tried to report abuse today again, but their abuse form page keeps getting in the loop of Cloudflare "verifying you are human" page and I can't access the form. While I am able to access all other Beehiiv pages without a problem. Seems like they now even disabled the access to Abuse reporting form by making it look like it's a visitor's or a Cloudflare problem. Very unprofessional and unethical in my opinion.
Edit after Beehiv response:
I sent you my email address and full name. You can check that I was added to a newsletter without my opt-in and that I have submitted an Abuse report that Beehiiv did not acknowledge or action on.
Edit 8 Jun 2025:
Still getting the same spam from Beehiiv. After multiple attempts to unsubscribe, reports to abuse, Beehiiv responding here that they would "investigate further"... Beehiiv is still spamming me.
Edit 15 Jun 2025:
Still getting the same spam from Beehiiv. So, CG from Beehiiv, how much time you need to "investigate"? Or did spamming became the official policy and business model of Beehiiv?

I just started my newsletter and knew nothing when I began. Beehiiv is an amazing platform that has helped me succeed right away -- robust design tools, easy shortcuts when writing to structure the newsletter however I want (easy to add polls, images, ads, whatever you like), completely scalable, helpful videos, and top notch support.

Reply from beehiiv
Beehiiv, from once a promising company, became basically an infrastructure provider for spammers. I keep getting an increasing amount of spam and even scams from various Beehiiv accounts. Their abuse team, customer support, and even their executives don't even bother replying to reports.
Putting aside my problems as a spamming victim, if you are considering signing up with them, you should be aware that they are increasingly spammy, which means that soon (hopefully) their servers would get blacklisted and with that, any newsletters you are sending (and paying for) would be automatically going to your recipients's spam folders by default.
It's disappointing to see once such an exciting company, deteriorating so much.
Edit 28 May 2025 after Beehiiv's reply:
Beehiiv representative replied with the confirmation that I have been unsubscribed. But worded in a way that could leave the reader under the impression that I was unsubscribed even before my review.
So just to clarify:
In May 2024 Beehiiv support confirmed that I have been unsubscribed and put on a Beehiiv-wide block list (i.e. that no Beehiiv customer can add my email to their mailing lists anymore). Despite that confirmation, I continued receiving spam from Beehiiv customers.
In April this year I tried again to stop Beehiiv from spamming me. There were no responses from Abuse teams, Support, Privacy, Legal, and various execs. Not a single response while the spam kept coming.
The only sign of life I got from Beehiiv was their claim to Trustpilot that my review is fake. Upon which I provided all the correspondence to the thorough Trustpilot Content Integrity team which verified my claims and marked my review as "Verified." After which the Beehiiv representative replied below.
I am looking forward to not receiving anymore Beehiiv spam, if I was really removed this time. But Beehiiv could have avoided this by simply responding to their Abuse, Support, and Privacy emails as they are supposed to. (And legally required in case of Privacy). I hope they will do better in the future.
