Beach House Saved My Life

I went to Beach House Center for Recovery in 2016, court-ordered and convinced I was going to die an alcoholic death. By that point I had already been to several treatment centers—including one I spent two years in—only to relapse two weeks after graduating.

Beach House gave me a safe place to finally have a moment of clarity and pointed me to a real solution: the 12 Steps. They encouraged me to get a sponsor, find a home group, and work the Steps.

I did exactly that and have been sober ever since. Beach House truly saved my life. I’m coming up on 10 years sober today and will always be grateful.

This company is absolutely insane

This company is absolutely insane. They first told me they were a mental health facility how come to find out they do not have a license to work as a mental health center. They also did not give me my drivers license back and will not reach back out to me to give it back. I’m having to file theft charges against Beach house just to get my Drivers License back. Also spoke to the local police department and they stated that Beach House happens to not let people have their property back quite often and when the police department does come down there, they claim that they don’t have it so the police department is not able to search anything to find your property.

Beach House saved my life

I spent 110 days at Beach House. I went through detox, residential treatment, PHP and IOP. It was hands down the best decision I could ever have made. The staff was caring and understanding. The facility was clean, the classes were educational and informative.
You DO have to do the work. I did, and I'll never regret it. Excellent experience. THANK YOU BEACH HOUSE!!

Beach House is awesome

Beach House is awesome. I love that it’s a big campus and you’re not being moved around like cattle from one house to another one in a stinky bus. They take you to the beach every morning to watch the sun come up. I mean it’s really early but you get used to it and it definitely sets the tone for the day. If your not like really want to get clean then this place isn't for you but if your serious they make you work your butt off.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVEDONES TO…

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVEDONES TO THIS HORRENDOUS PLACE!! BEACH HOUSE IS EXACTLY WHAT THE NAME SAYS. THERE IS MORE SEX AND DRUGGING GOING ON THERE THAN TREATMENT. I JUST LEFT THIS PLACE 3 DAYS AGO, AND ON MY LAST BREATH I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. THIS PLACE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A " LOW KEY" INSURANCE SCAM. PEOPLE ARE GETTING CAUGHT WITH DRUGS YET THEY ARE NOT PUNISHED , ESPECIALLY SELF-PAY CLIENTS. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ACCOUNTABILITY HERE, AS PATIENTS ARE ALLOWED TO SIT AROUND, OR SLEEP ALL DAY AND NEVER ATTEND GROUPS, SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS ARE SMILED UPON SO MUCH THAT THE PATIENTS PUSH THE OUTDOOR COUCHES TOGETHER TO MAKE WHAT THEY CALL "THE ORGY COUCH". THERE IS ALSO THE "SMUSH BUSH" AND GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT GOES ON IN THE POOL!!! THE DAY BEFORE I LEFT A PATIENT WAS CAUGHT PASSIHG OUT HITS OF ACID TO HIS FRIENDS, ALTHOUGH HE WAS CAUGHT, NO PUNISHMENT WAS HANDED OUT (GOOD INSURANCE). PLEASE, PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU, IF YOU REALLY LOVE AND CARE FOR SOMEONE PLEASE DON'T SEND THEM TO BEACH HOUSE. HONESTLY, I WOULDN'T EVEN SEND MY WORST ENEMY THERE!! AGAIN, THIS PLACE IS A LOW KEY INSURANCE SCAM!! THEY SET YOU UP TO FAIL!! SEX IS NOT THE PROBLEM, DRUGS ARE, AND THERE IS PLENTY OF THEM THERE! I SAW WITH MY OWN EYES!! PLEASE DON'T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS PLACE!! PLEASE!!!

As is the case in most treatment programs, we have a co-ed facility, both inpatient and outpatient, with designated rooms and roommates of the same gender. We feel that exposure to the opposite gender, especially if an individual has unhealthy relationship skills, is important to process in the controlled environment of treatment. Real life, real long term sobriety, will include interactions with the opposite gender. There can be challenges with this at times but we feel it’s important. Thank you for the feedback, we're gracious to adjust our processes to ensure safety and effectiveness of our programming. We'd love to have the opportunity to discuss your experience with you, please reach out to 561-396-2656 if you would allow us the opportunity to discuss. We encourage anyone seeking a substance abuse treatment program to read all reviews, both good & bad. Bad reviews are always a place for any business to learn from but our ratio of good reviews & positive feedback speak to the true quality of our program.

I was admitted for pain pill detox

I was admitted for pain pill detox. Experts agree that opiate withdrawal is be no more than 10% per week. This not the case at Beach House. Standard protocol is 6 days of decreasing Suboxone and then you’re discharged. After my last dose of Suboxone wore off I went into 10 days of full blown withdrawal . Thankfully, I’m still hanging in. But their opiate detox is totally inadequate . This needs to change. I met many caring staff and conditions are generally good. But their opiate detox just sets people up to relapse

We're sincerely sorry you feel that way. We have strict protocols in place to ensure every client is administered the medication prescribed to them, as seen fit by our provider's extensive years of experience treating all substance abuse detoxifications and withdrawals. Everyone reacts differently to different medications and we monitor all our clients’ health daily. Our mission at Beach House is to provide a successful recovery and a lifetime that is free of drugs and alcohol. We employ a team that we feel is the best - including psychiatrists, addictionologists, clinicians, case managers, compliance professionals, and more. We'd be happy to discuss your feedback further if you'd like to give us a call at 561-396-2656.

My Father was transferred from the…

My Father was transferred from the hospital to this inadequate facility. After spending over six hours with no water, medication or food we had him emergency transferred back to the hospital. He was told to SHUT UP by one of the employees when he asked for his medication and some water. This place is a complete disaster and should be shut down. I get it health care professionals are extremely over worked/stressed etc. with COVID-19 and my heart goes out to all the good health care professionals. But to treat anyone worse than an animal is disgusting and unprofessional. People need to know how this place operates. If you do not like your job get a new one. By the way I never write reviews.

DO NOT GO!!!!!!!

DO NOT GO!!!!!!!! I was both physically assaulted emotionally abused and kept against my will as well as many others! The experience was the worst of my life. I went tested negative for all drugs and was then extorted to try and be forced to stay longer. Every day the police had to come to the facility for patients trying to leave and they would then gaslight and violate every patient that would not submit to their tactics. DO NOT GO TO BEACHHOUSE! They left me after i was assaulted by a violent young man on the ground for 90 minutes and would not call the police or ambulance as i begged and other residents. These people are unethical and morally bankrupt. This place helps nobody but themselves. If 100 people go for help some will make it on t heir own. This place will try and make you stay 35-90 days even if you confirmed a 7 day stay with them as your only intention. If i had paid cash for one week they would have not tried to force me to stay longer. This place is not safe under any circumstance. Go anywhere else. BEACHHOUSE IS TOXIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"My sister was pressured "ENTER AT OWN RISK

"My sister was pressured to come all the way from Atlanta to Beachhouse" .My sister had been recovering at home from a wreck. she started drinking because she was out of work and home recovering. she sought help because suddenly she began to realize that she had been getting dependent on drinking .when she made that call there at the center she was in contact with Julie( recuiter).
Julie pressured my sister to jump plane tomorrow and come to Beachhouse miles away from her family.my sister had a doctors appt. for her wreck but never went because Julie told her she had to come now .My sister flew out to Juno beach Fl. when she land they came a got her and her luggage .when she went to her room at Beachhouse she wasn't feeling well . the flight ,her condition and not feeling good had been much on her so they called the ambulance. they picked her up and brought her to the hospital. everything went down hill from there. needless to say she was in the hospital for nine days . had mental stress from the treatment she received from staff. also beach house stole some of her belongings . her luggage was stole but they give her clothes to her.in bags .10 packs of cigarettes and her ray ban sunglass were stole. this is very sad that they would rob someone things when they were in the hospital .if they think for one minute they are gonna charge her insurance for anything they are wrong , my sister had to pay a taxi to take her to the airport and pay for a plane ticket back home. after 10 days in the hospital this is awful .this is for Julie "do not take credit for saving my sister life 'Gods got my sister and YOU ARE NOT in control of anyone's life, quit calling our Family which you keep doing and bothering us .you or Beachhouse has done nothing for my sister but stress her out and rob her things ,not good. I hope everyone reading this reconsiders going here its not a place were they are genuine ,BEWARE;CAUTION ENTER AT OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!

We do find urgency in encouraging the clients and families we speak with to enter treatment as soon as possible. The sense of urgency comes from seeing first hand individuals put off treatment and then overdose, end up in the hospital or end up in jail. We do our best to communicate this urgency with empathy & compassion, I am very sorry to hear that this wasn't the way you felt and we will be sure to learn from what you've shared. Client care and client safety are our highest priorities. We want to make sure everyone is safe and when a client is experiencing medical issues that should be better handled at a hospital, we send them to get assessed and cleared. Wonderful place to start your recovery journey.

I have worked at Beach House Center for recovery as a medical provider for the last 15 months.

I have been practicing in the field of addiction medicine for close to nine years, and I can honestly say this facility provides the most comprehensive care when it comes to managing people with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders.

In my opinion, everyone that works at Beach House, from the maintenance crew to the medical director treat every client with the upmost respect, compassion and empathy.

I could not imagine working at any other faculty.

Gave me the tools to create an amazing new life

13 months sober and getting better as time goes on. Beach house has a great program and the individuals that dedicate their lives to working toward helping others get sober don’t receive enough credit. They don’t do it for the money, that much is clear. So, a big thanks to the staff in its entirety, and a special thanks to those on the front lines digging deep with each client day in and day out. It’s expensive! But so is running a rehabilitation facility. So it’s up to you. That may seem harsh, but nothing is as harsh as that decision you make to get/stay sober. If you’re not ready to get sober, do not waste your time or money, and frankly don’t waste the staffs time either. They are invested in the clients lives sometimes more than they clients are themselves. Just do yourself and the world a favor and stay alive long enough to be ready. Beach House was the best decision I made to BEGIN the sobriety process. To anyone struggling out there, be strong and start the fight.

The Beach House saved my life

The Beach House absolutely saved my life. I truly do not think I would be a year sober tomorrow without them. From the staff, techs, cooks, and Counselors they just have so much passion towards recovery and helping each individual to get better. They tought me so much about myself and who I am as a person and how to love myself. I could never repay them for the knowledge of knowing who I am now and how to stay sober. That’s the beauty of the beach house ,they helped me to get sober but * gave me the tools and knowledge on how to stay sober* and for that I am forever greatful.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

Honestly, I cannot stress this enough - DO NOT GO TO THE BEACH HOUSE. Most of the people that go there are only trying to appease the courts. The jail house rhetoric (on the mens side) is insane. You should know that they allow felons into the program which should be in some other program rather then what the Beach House "claims to be". The owner, Glen (something), came in and spoke of his story. While speaking, a tech came in for a patient and he asked 2 times why the patient had to leave and finally, with much hesitation, the tech said "because the ambulance is waiting for her". I felt sorry for her (the tech) because she knew she was violating HIPAA rules and regulations and most certainly for the patient because now everybody was talking about her and why she had to leave. This is such a gross privacy violation and I will report it and I hope the person who this happened to will reach out to me for some guidance on how to report this as well. Be very careful about choosing a program and center. Read the reviews and ask questions. I wasted 2 weeks of my life there with very little return. Luckily, I'm still sober and enrolled in an IOP. If you are reading this you or someone you know and love needs help. Please proceed with caution!

Terrible

Terrible. My wife attended and was sent home because of her need for a right knee replacement which the admissions counselor was informed of and the admissions counselor advised that would not be an issue. Lack of communication with staff created a further problem. Anna Ciulla is supposed to be in charge of clinical and medical services. I learned Anna did not care about my wife and it was Anna Ciulla who sent my wife home over the objection of the counselor and therapist.

My recovery couldn't have happened without the Beach House facility. I have been sober for 97 days today and it wouldn't be possible without the care I received from Beach House. I wasn't treated like a Client, I never was treated like an Addict, I was treated like Family. I have relationships with people that will last a lifetime because of being there.
