Their cleaning and re-wax have caused the jacket to shrink. My jacket was winter size M and after the cleaning and re-wax it shrink to close to size S. Thus, I can’t use it as winter jacket anymor... See more

An extremely happy customer !!
I've bought jackets from Barbour before, but this time I bought my first waxed one, a Sleddale.
The order arrived the next day !
I love the look and the fit, I couldn't be happier. I had a couple of of queries regarding the maintenance of the jacket, and customer service were excellent. An extremely happy customer.
Size guide needs improved but returns decent
Ordered a couple of the Corbridge jackets. Fit was too tight for me, found the sizing guide on the site unhelpful to be honest. However can't argue with the quality of the jacket itself. Returns process was pretty decent too.
POOR customer service
Poor customer service, didn't receive package delivered to my home, DPD delivered to the post office. It is difficult me to get out as I am disabled, I told Barbour of this and nobody cared. No resolution except pick it up from the post office or it will be returned to Barbour.
Terrible way to treat customers, don't waste your hard earned money with them.
Better than expected
I have recently used the re wax and repair service. I can’t fault it. My coat has been returned with new sleeves, cuffs and a re wax. They even managed to remove the cat hair! I was looking to replace it this year but couldn’t find a coat with the same thickness of lining. Money well spent as looks like new. Will send my son’s next. Well done Barbour.
Overstated motif
I have used Barbour for many years as I find the quality hardwearing and stylish. Recently I was looking to purchase a new lightweight jacket but was
disappointed to find the yellow Barbour motif too large which distracted from the quality and to my mind cheapened the look of the garment.
No longer quality
I have been buying Barbour for my family and dogs for decades; I have always loved the brand and it has always been a joke to friends that I always have some article of Barbour clothing on me.
However in the last year I have had 2 pairs of slippers, 2 dog collars and 1 lead, a baseball hat, a pair of jogging bottoms, full size wellingtons and a gillet that have not lasted more than a few months. Foolishly I ignored the fact the Barbour quality has gone and bought some ankle wellingtons. By the second wear the insoles on both wellingtons kept rising up, making them entirely useless. I was told to buy some glue and glue them in - something I would not expect to have to do with a cheap pair of boots!
Needless to say after decades of using Barbour I will no longer be buying their products.
Great quality and service, with exceptional support
I’ve shopped both in-store and online, and the service, as well as the quality of the items, has been excellent.
I’ve bought a range of garments and even used their rewaxing service for my coat, and everything has been fantastic.
More recently, I wanted to replace some wellingtons that were out of warranty. I had a question about a pair I found online, and to my surprise, instead of seizing a new sales opportunity, they replaced them free of charge.
Impractical- pockets don’t work!
I bought a Barbour elisha fleece size 12 - super cosy, a bit big for size but fine. Big downside is the pockets - other than a tissue you can’t put anything in without it falling out- eg phone , no zips and no inside pockets at all! . This is penny pinching on an expensive product and just terrible design from a company that’s supposed to be all about practicality and being outdoors really regret my purchase.
Great service
Great service, fixed the issue thoroughly and posted back in Barbour bag efficiently.

I sent my very grubby 14 year old barbour coat to be cleaned and rewaxed . Omg it's like a new coat, what a brilliant service worth every penny.
Wanted to return a coat rung them and…
Wanted to return a coat rung them and asked for a QR code as I don't have a printer they told me they do not l issue QR codes but would send me a label instread.TWO phone calls and a week later they still havnt sent it.Poor customer service they obviously didn't want me to return the coat which was too small for me. Eventually someone printed the label for me so I have now returned it.I will.not be purchasing anything from barbour again. Bad experience and very poor customer service
Excellent customer service
Had issues with a purchase 1 month after buying. John Lewis would not help (no receipts) but went direct to Barbour and they were excellent. Katy in customer services resolved the issue very quickly and professionally. Couldn't praise them highly enough - excellent customer service.
Barbour Fibre Down AVOID!!!
I bought Barbour puffer jacket and gilet both filled with their highly advertised Fibre Down. They were nice till the first wash. I have washed it as instructed on the label but the filling has literally been reduced to a small ugly clogs. Tumble drying with drier balls (like you would real down) did not change anything. So literally £500 dow the drain. AVOID!
Clean and Rewax Service - Look out for complete colour change
I purchased the Barbour Wax jacket clean and rewax service, it took 3 weeks for my jacket to be returned, when received, there were parts of the jacket that had been missed during the process, however the worst part was the jacket had gone from being a sand colour to chestnut brown, a completely different colour.
I contacted their customer service team and they simply brushed off my concern, saying the website indicated it may be darker after rewaxing, however no mention of a complete colour change.
Here's their quote:- Now that we have rewaxed it the jacket will appear darker as the wax can be known to look darker once rewaxed. this will dry out in a week or so but it may not go back as light as the original colour.
As advised on our website under the repair and rewax section.
Interesting there's nothing regarding it completely changing colour from Sand to Chetbut Brown as it has.
Customer service poor & product…
Customer service poor & product knowledge poor. I went to London store, Duke street. I asked for assistance, one sales assistant said she would when she"Is ready"! Another shop assistant said a particular jacket was not in stock and was unable to tell me where it is available. There is a definate training need. A beautiful shop, no doubt. But how sustainable is it if there is no investment in staff? People will go elsewhere & I am one of them. I expected more from Barbour. I am very disappointed.
The price is still high
Quality has plummeted, but the price is still high. Bought a quilted jacket. The lining in the sleeve was badly puckered and the corduroy collar had to be adjusted and sewn on again. Had to take it to a repairers to have the sleeves adjusted and they spotted the errors. The suppliers returns policy would add long delays.
Checking on the label, where was this jacket made? Vietnam. So Barbour say let's cut the quality and go cheap with big margins. So this is my last purchase of a Barbour anything now. How sad!
Scam or not?
Of dear. Looking at many comments it looks like Barbour Quality and its service has evaporated. I bought online yesterday which was offering Free Delivery if you input your email address and mobile number. I received a code via text message to input for free delivery. Did it work - of course not! Complained to Customer Service (Olivia) who fobbed me off with ‘sorry for the inconvenience’ - no delivery rebate for what I ordered, Dreadful. Complained again let’s see what happens.
Absolutely nothing special
Absolutely nothing special. Just like any brand
Got a jacket as a gift from Barbour and I don’t even use the zip and it was cold and found out it was broken. Filler as well is just polyester so not that warm either. My parents brought me up to spend more for quality. This is not the case here. I feel a lot of these sort of designer brands are struggling, particular after the pandemic.
Barbour are wonderful
I bought my first Barbour coat over 36 years ago. Unfortunately, that one is long gone. However, I recently bought an old jacket in need of repair from a well known auction site. Some of its poppers are damaged. Having searched everywhere, I sent an email to Barbour who immediately responded with free poppers! They knew I was unlikely to send the coat to them for repair (although I have bought my wax proofer from them) and they are a big enough company not to need my patronage. But they still took the time to write me an email and send me the poppers at their own cost. It is wonderful to know that such companies still exist in this world. Companies that don't make you talk to a robot or search for hours for a contact number. Real people who care about their products and the people who use them. Next time you need a coat, make it a Barbour. You will be getting much more than a well designed, quality coat.
Poor investment
I purchased a pair of Barbour wellies after hearing great things about the brand’s reputation for quality and craftsmanship. Initially, I was thrilled with my purchase—the wellies were comfortable, stylish, and perfect for outdoor use. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when they began to show signs of wear within just a few months.
Having owned my previous pair of wellies (from another brand) for 17 years, I had expected these Barbour wellies to last at least a few seasons. To my surprise, they barely made it through one! Cracks started forming around the sole, and the material degraded far quicker than expected. For a brand like Barbour, known for its rugged outdoor gear, this was a huge letdown.
I was initially very happy with the fit and design, but durability is a major issue here. For the price, I expected much more longevity, especially when compared to my old pair, which I only replaced after almost two decades of heavy use.
Overall, while Barbour's wellies look good and feel great at first, their short lifespan makes them a poor investment. I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re looking for something long-lasting.
