Aviva, a true dinosaur of car insurance!
Aviva car insurance are just ridiculous.
As an existing, long term client of Aviva products, they chase me for years to purchase their car insurance, which I do. Upon renewal after the first year they send me an email saying they can’t insure me any more for ‘underwriting reasons’. No specific detail given whatsoever. Not even prepared to provide a higher quote!
I then go online directly with Aviva, enter all the same details as before and get a new quote immediately, albeit 100% increase!
Their system is broken and, quite frankly, has been for a while with other products I am signed up for.
The management really need to start fixing the issues sooner rather than later.
Update in response to Aviva’s poor reply.
I am not still on board, I only got a quote from them to demonstrate that despite being told they would not renew that I could still purchase from them! That’s ridiculous!
What is the point of showing me a link that doesn’t get me to speak to anyone. Aviva made it clear by their email they are online only and will only physically talk to customers with claims, not to anyone else. This is another reason why Aviva are a bad option!
Furthermore, as a result of this fiasco, I am considering moving my other Aviva products elsewhere to a company who truly understands customers and loyalty.
The response by the ‘Social team’ only highlights the disconnect and service levels.

Aviva Zero customer support
Aviva Zero car insurance, as far as I understand it the name "Zero" refers to their customer support, if you understand that, then it does what it says on the tin.
They don't appear to have a phone number for anything other than making a claim

I contacted Aviva's menopause support… watch out for inflated costs!
I contacted Aviva's menopause support service because I was struggling to access timely help through my NHS GP and was reassured that support would be available through my private healthcare cover.
Following two consultations, I was issued with a private prescription which would be handled by Square Health. Whilst I fully understand that private prescriptions are not covered by the NHS and may cost more, I was never given any indication of the likely cost before the prescription was issued. I subsequently discovered that the medication would cost £90, compared with the NHS prescription charge of around £10. I also have pre-paid an annual subscription for menopause prescriptions – this too was not valid.
Had I been informed of the likely cost, I would not have proceeded. Instead, I made two unnecessary trips to the pharmacy.
My main concern is not the cost itself, but the lack of transparency. Patients should be given sufficient information to make an informed decision before a prescription is issued.
Most disappointing of all, I submitted a formal complaint and have received no acknowledgement or response. For a healthcare provider, better communication, clearer information and more responsive complaint handling are essential. I will review my annual membership with Aviva based upon this experience.

Car insurance quote was very competitive
Quote was very competitive and best for the cover I was looking for using Confused.com.
Have previously used Aviva a number of times over the years and found them good to deal with when I've had occasional claims so no worries about going back to them.
5 months wait to have my health insurance claim rejected!!
I recently submitted a health insurance claim, which experienced a five-month processing period before a decision was issued. Regrettably, the claim was denied following this prolonged delay, a situation exacerbated by complications involving both the insurance provider and my general practitioner's office. Reflecting on this experience, it appears that engaging with the National Health Service (NHS) might have offered a more streamlined alternative, as the five months spent awaiting a resolution could have been allocated to the NHS waiting list. It is often observed that insurers meticulously examine policy language for specific clauses that may lead to claim denials. After three years of contributions to this health insurance plan, I have decided not to renew my policy. The considerable stress and operational inefficiencies attributed to the insurance company, combined with suboptimal customer service, are significant concerns. A notable lack of empathy was perceived throughout this process.
