I have been a member for about 10 years, I would have given 5 stars up until June when my Amazon account was hacked, Amazon say there was no suspicious activity & they left it at that. I assume I rea... See more

Good value for money especially on a yearly subscription.
I was sceptical due to the number of negative
reviews. However I did an initial trial last month for £8.99, changed it to the £5.99 standard subscription with no problem at all and I was billed correctly. This week I took out a yearly subscription as it is much better value and I will get plently of use from it. I am pleased with the product so far. I use the Libby app also, but it has stopped working several times. Audible have audio books that Libby do not have and I've not found anywhere else. I've found it easy to use. I would recommend it and wonder why there are so many complaints.
Use BORROW BOX instead
Use BORROW BOX instead. It's free!
Awful customer service from Audible. I've now signed up online with my local library and can get thousands of books I'd previously paid for on Audible for free!
Ah awful company
Ah awful company, customer service terrible and lied to me that they would call me back. Basically told me that my app doesn't work properly because my phone isn't running android 16 , my phone is literally a month old and running android 15. so they've made the app to only run properly on a handful of mobile phones. Great move audible.
Shameful and total rubbish
I was quite happy with the service when I joined in 2011 and it was by Audible.com. Then from somewhere it got changed to Amazon and went downhill. Titles I bought since joining in 2011 are disappearing from my library one by one although still showing in my purchase history. No one seems to know how to solve the problem. Rubbish customer service bought in from back of beyond where one cannot understand the accent or make the person understand what the problem is. A good product ruined by the Greed of Amazon. Shameful. Price has gone up and service is non existence. Rubbish with bows on
No customer support
Appalling customer support, actually no customer support, I think it’s time to kick it to the curb.
Give a longer sample Audible! It would be beneficial in the long run instead of selfishly giving a scant 1% of the book you are advertising!
It could be amazing. However, because Audible has the monopoly of the listening book market they are arrogant.
Hey Audible, instead of giving skimpy 4/5 minute samples - why not give a full 30/40 minute sample?
Shoddy service
They don’t want to hear from customers. They have a chat bot that prevents you reaching a human unless you pretend your contact is about your account. If you pick that your issue is “other” you get an option of picking another issue (irrelevant) or “Never Mind” and you get kicked off! There is no way to describe your “other” issue at all and thus no way of getting help with it. They pulled the email service as a policy decision which is a bad show. A company that is not afraid to hear from customers does not behave like this.
Audible is a rip-off company
Audible is a rip-off company. FIrstly, after you have signed-up, they charge you a monthly fee for some credits even though you never asked for them. This is FORCED consumption on a so called Subscription model.
I cancelled my membership in June 2025, they keep charging me monthly fees. I called their billing and asked for an explanation and demanded refund. They checked my account is inactive but insisted that the charges originated from USA Audible. I never had any dealing with USA Audible. I told them when I signed up with Audible UK I was in Hong Kong and I can choose to pay in USD and not in pounds. They insisted that since the charges on my statement are in USD they cannot help me.
Now, I have to cancel my credit card in order being ripping off by AUDIBLE UK.
Lesson Learned: Unless you want to buy a least one audio book EVERY MONTH, do not subscribe!
Buy audible books from the publishers.
If you want to cancel your subscription, you have to prepare to cancel your credit card first.
I will NEVER buy anything from AUDIBLE ever again!
Mehh
Once you have signed up for audible, expect to pay for the monthly membership for life! I have cancelled my membership for three months running but they still take money out each month. I have tried talking to customer service but fat lot they do!
What a load of rubbish
What a load of rubbish, please avoid.
Was offered 3 months free.
After one month audible took a fee at the premium rate. Contacted their customer service, they couldn’t help me.
What a rip off .
I have cancelled everything.
And the stories are boring. Also I can no longer play the stories I downloaded. It’s because I cancelled my subscription.
It’s a con . They give you an offer. Then charge you anyway.
Buyer beware. Never again.
Poor experience overall
There always seem to be glitches in the system and issues with downloads that the customer service team can rarely rectify. When using chay, if you don't respond to their message within 60 seconds (which is sometimes impossible because you're in another part of the app trying to follow their instructions to fix the issue) they cut you off for being inactive. You can't share screenshots or attachments to describe your problems either.
I asked chat because my last phone call to resolve a problem took 3 days and 4 calls to, but at least that was helpful.
Just plain awful. I'd have cancelled my subscription if it hasn't been paid upfront for me as a gift bit won't be renewing.

Audible UK Poor Customer Service
Audible UK
Service was inadequate. Service provider seemed only aware of how to download sale titles using mobile phone.
I have used my laptop for downloading titles for 11 years so why change? I explained this. She typed "I have explained how to resolve" or words to that effect and that was it! I later resolved problem myself using laptop!!
If I could give less than one star I would.

What is wrong with Amazon that the playback cuts out. It's the same with Amazon music. Spend a bit more time on the services being provided instead of grandstanding with weddings and tedious hen parties in space

Audible appears to have hacked into my online radio as there are ads repeated over and over again making the station un listenable.
Terrible "Customer Service"
A terrific service when it's working. The problem is the absolute travesty that is their customer services. Utterly useless, reading trouble shooting from a screen that you have already done, very poor grasp of English. From such a multi national company, this is appalling

This is my second complaint about this company in two months.
I ceased to have anything to do with them sometime back due to their extremely poor service, inferior products and extortionist tendencies.
Audible.co.uk somehow continues to obtain money through a direct debit which i cancelled three months ago. My bank insists I talk to them. They are apparently unreachable!
Today they are walking away with my £11.10 and next month they will do it again and get away with it.
Over complicated & Tedious to cancel so don't even start
I have been audible member for sometime & it's been fine.
Chosen to cancel which is not an easy task.
I will NEVER NEVER use Audible ever again as so incredibly tedious to cancel.
Come on Audible....treat us with respect and I would happily return but not now
Customer service is atrocious
Customer service is atrocious. I had a tech problem, spent an hour and half with 3 different agents, not one of them was listening, not one understood the problem, kept asking me to do the same thing over and over, I put it to them if logging out and back in hadn’t worked the first 3 times, there wasn’t much point trying again … I was told I was being uncooperative.
Finally solved the issue for myself with advice from a friend. Really simple, they should have been able to help.
On speaking to a ‘leader’, the only compensation for wasting so much time and useless tech people was that I could have a reduced offer if I continued my membership. I really hate when the only compensation is a bit of rebate if you want to continue …. I don’t want to continue and will never use again,
In the UK, use Libby via your local library, it’s free.
