MY RECENT REVIEW RE: THE REGENT TANKER
MY RECENT REVIEW RE THE ATLAS REGENT TANKER
Mr Jack Doyle ( see his reply below) does NOT address my specific points and gives no assurance that I will be able to order the Regent Tanker. His reply, in my opinion, is simply a waste of time and will certainly not encourage me to reactivate any collection as he suggests I may want to do.
I do wish that when collectors write to Atlas that they receive meaningful replies.
Update 6/12/17
Jack Doyle took the trouble to phone just now and assured me that the Foden Regent Tanker is definitely part of the Dinky Trucks Collection and therefore I have re activated this collection.

I would like to say that Atlas Editions …are very good to deal with
I would like to say that Atlas Editions UK produces some excellent products, I have ordered quite a few over several years and have been delighted with them. I have had a couple of problems which have been dealt with quickly and very satisfactorily, for example, I sent a message to them on messenger this morning about 2 problems I had and less than 2 hours later they replied with a very satisfactory result.
So I would recommend them to anyone who wants some very nice items at very good prices

Watch prices and quality as you get more models.
I had 2 x collections with Atlas (Buses and coaches) Costs have increased to over £18 per model. Also the standard of the models (coaches) has greatly decreased as the metal for the models is now very thin. You can tell how much lighter they are. Poor quality. They do entice you with free gifts, but they do change what they send you as these free gifts. They tell you (sometimes) what you are getting the next month and then send you something different. They are ok possibly for the first four models but thereafter you need to decide if it is woth keeping a collection on.

I wish I had read these reviews before …Do not go near this company.
I wish I had read these reviews before I dealt with this company.
after ordering their initial items I tried to use their online site to cancel my orders, only to find that this only allows you to 'suspend' orders. Why? Surely only to take advantage of customers by waiting them out and activating their accounts once they have forgotten to return and re suspend ad-infinitum. After this happened and I received another pair I though 'fair enough', paid for them and cancelled over the phone.
Lo and behold more models arrive!!! Apparently they had no record of my cancellation and phone conversation with their representative! I call to cancel again and return the items. No, months later I am receiving payment notices for the models I returned. Apparently they never arrived or haven't been identified. How very convenient, guess they'll just keep pestering me then?
Do not deal with this company, you will heave to struggle free of their grip and even then will continue to send you packages, which they will demand payment for even if returned. They are running a con here, slowly ramping up the price of each package. The last one was nearly £20 for a 4 inch toy!!!

Oh dear
Oh dear, so clearly from the reviews I am not the only one having problems!! After sporadically receiving the die cast models which appeared to come bi-monthly despite paying monthly, my husband cancelled this service back in September as he hadn't received a model since the beginning of July!! He was assured that the account was cancelled and no further payment would be taken. Low and behold Atlas took £19.98 out of my account on 27th October despite cancelling. The last payment taken was on 11th August so this doesn't make sense!! I need to call them to refund but I'm trying to pluck up the fight as any issue I have had previously has been dealt with appallingly. I too was receiving red letters back in June about a missed payment. Despite sending copies of bank statements proving it had been paid I ended up paying it as they continued to hound me. When we did receive models they were not in the order stated and certain models were just missed out altogether. Dealing with Atlas has been an awful experience for something that should have been so simple!!

Oh dear wish I read these reviews …
Oh dear wish I read these reviews before I got involved. The usual BS "absolutly no obligation" yada yada yada. I took a toy truck for my son for £2.99 Next thing you know another one arrives with an invoice for £16.98. I sent it back (and told them so) and asked then to cancel my account and stop contacting me
Invoice after invoice now billing for both toys adding administaration charges each time. I have tried in vain to pay the £2.99 for the first toy on their website but it will not recognise the customer number they have sent on the invoice.... therefore another £2 admin charge levied.
Im now at £21.97 for a £2.99 toy (mistake) Dont get sucked in with the TV offers they will continue to send and continue to invoice. People like this give decent traders a bad name

Very poor customer service level provided!!
The level of customer service from this company is a joke!! Sent a email on the 23rd September asking to change the frequency of the parcels to Quarterly (tried twice on my online account but still parcels are sent monthly) and also to ask on my two collections what the full list of collectibles make up the collection so I know what's coming! After 17 days and still no answer I emailed again and I received a response back to tell me they are customer service agents and are to busy to respond!!
Now 35 days later and still no reply I have emailed them again fora update but I do not hold my breath on a response.
All goes well with the parcels delivered (maybe not the packaging they use) until you need to get in touch with them to talk about your account. They are very quick in sending parcels and taking money but it's a shame there customer service centre does not act with the same quickness!
All in all the customer service provided is one of the worse I have ever experienced.

Useless
We accidentally paid this company twice, and asked for our money back. Twice they said they would pay it into our account, the last time was 8 days ago. We still don't have it! Getting through on the phone is a nightmare.

Atlas Editions, a guide to help keep customers satisfied?
As a long-standing customer, my dealings with Atlas Editions has been a mixture of annoyance and frustrations over those years, dealing with the errors encountered, including items not received, but payments taken, or "2nd Final Demands" received when the first ones haven't arrived.
My contract with Atlas is to pay each invoice, when it becomes due, in full, by Direct Debit, so there should never be any outstanding amounts.
Customer Services is a "joke"! It takes ages to get through on the phone, so they obviously don't employ enough people to cope with the demand. When you eventually get an answer, it's not always clear if the person you're speaking to understands the nature of the complaint! You eventually ring off after being told the matter has been corrected.
Customer Services should be a department which, having sorted any query over the phone or after receiving a letter/e-mail etc, should action any problem immediately. However, due to a lack of efficiency and any hint of a system, every problem takes "Up to 28days" to resolve, and when any package eventually arrives, there is never any docket or correspondence enclosed referring it to be the item(s) discussed on the phone. Also, when problems have been resolved on the phone, the person you have spoken to often agrees with a request to send a letter confirming the conversation, or an up-to-date statement, but to this day, 17th Oct, 2017, that has never happened! I have also written at least a dozen or so letters over the last 4/5yrs, and have yet to receive a reply! Finally, despite asking on many occasions when I manage to get through, no one in the Company can tell me when a "Collection" will be completed, eg., number of models in the Dinky Toy/Truck collections, or the "World Atlas" files, which so far, has sent 46 deliveries.
Pity this review is so negative, but I can only comment on how I've found things over the years. Lots of room for improvements at Atlas Editions!

Issues resolved, then another unwanted Model arrives
Firstly Jack, I never received that letter of confirmation you promised. But all seemed well until last Friday when another Model turned up on the doorstep. It was another Avro Vulcan. So now I have two. At least my balance has gone down to £1.99 but do I pay for this model within 28 days, or ignore and risk starting the process all over again with you sending me subsequent models? Please advise.

Feeling very frustrated and upset
Feeling very frustrated at the lack of clarity regarding purchasing goods from Atlas Editions. My mum who is elderly purchased The little Ferguson from Tractors of the World and a Davy Brown after this. She then began receiving more parcels and didn't realise she had signed up to a subscription. Consequently she returned the goods at her own expense and having spoken to our Local Post Office she was advised to bring all subsequent packages unopened to them directly and they would redirect to Atlas. My mother still received payment notices and twice sent letters to request the parcels cease. Yesterday she received a debt collector notice which has caused her great distress. I then contacted Atlas on her behalf who said she had not returned the last item and that as the debt had been passed on it was out of their hands despite agreeing with me that they were sorry for the mix up. I asked why two letters had not been replied to and the response was they were probably lost in the system. This seems like a set up aimed at targeting vulnerable people which is very discerning. I now need to go to the PO to get proof of return as Atlas can't do anything about the mistake. Surely if they caused the problem they should be able to fix this. Having read the reviews I feel this is something I should bring forward to the attention of BBC Watchdog. I really would appreciate a swift resolution to a problem which has been ongoing for over a year.

Hello Dominica,
Thank you for your review.
I am very sorry for the issues you and your mother have had with us recently.
I have taken a look at your mother's account and can see she requested the Tractors of The World collection on 3rd February 2016 and then contact us to cancel the collection on 16th January 2017.
Within that time we had sent your mother 8 shipments. The account is currently showing that we have had 5 models returned to us and 2 models we have received payment for to date.
This means there was one model outstanding to either be paid for or returned to us.
I have removed this outstanding balance as a gesture of our goodwill and have contacted CCS to have your record with them cleared. Please allow 5-7 working days for this to process completely.
I have also sent your mother a letter to confirm the above for her to keep for her records.
Kind regards,
Jack Pike
Update: 10th Oct 2017
Dear Jack,
Thank you for your prompt reply to my initial review. I did not reply immediately as I was awaiting the letter to be issued to my mother.
However, she has received no letter from Atlas to date and yesterday received another letter from the debt collector insisting payment in 3 days.
I would be grateful if you could revisit this issue as I'm afraid it remains unresolved and has caused my mother great consternation yesterday and today.
Kind regards,
Dominica

I do not recall ordering a Heritage …
Hello Jack
Customer No. 32126333.
Thank you for your quick response.
I welcome a cancellation to any further delivery of Heritage Teddy Bear collections. I would also request a pre-paid postage cover in order to return the present delivery I have here with me. I can assure you I saw no details that if I am to order online other interests that I would be eligible to receive continuation of Heritage Teddy Bear collections. I may have misread the Ts & Cs, which can be ambiguous at times.
Please note, there has been no delivery of the Stobart Rail Komatsu Hydraulic Excavator.
For now, would you be so kind to remove my contact details from Atlas Editions. I'm sure that in the future I will re-order and will be on notice to know my obligation.
Kind regards
Ms S Williams

Hello Sonia,
Thank you for your review.
I am very sorry if there seems to be some confusion with your account. I have taken a look and can see that Teddy's Bear, the first model within our Heritage Teddy Bear collection, was ordered online by yourself on 19th July 2017 for £1.99, you then paid a payment for this on 18th August. You then placed an order for the Stobart Rail Komatsu Hydraulic Excavator as the first model in our The World of Stobart collection on 16th September.
Please note that the models you have ordered online are the start of a monthly collection where you will receive a model within that collection very 28 days unless you notify us to cancel. This is why you have since received the Pendentif Teddy, would you like me to cancel these collection for you now?
You are welcome to return any unwanted items back to us so we can clear these from your account, please send returns to:
Atlas Editions
P.O Box 1760
Southampton
SO18 9JW
I have put your account on hold for 6 weeks pending your response.
Kind regards,
Jack Pike
I do not recall ordering a Heritage Teddy Bear that was apparently delivered this morning and was left with my neighbour whilst I was at work. Why was this issued when I did not request it?
However, I do remember ordering a Stobart Rail Komatsu Hydraulic Excavator replica as instructed by an email invitation from Atlas Editions. I had assumed what was delivery, but it was not.
I would appreciate instructions on returning this Heritage Teddy Bear as soon as possible. It is obvious there was some form of miscommunication along the way.
Regards

Awful customer service
Awful customer service, just called and spoke to Mr Singh who was extremely obnoxious regarding the non delivery of items which I am being billed for after cancelling these items over the phone months ago, I asked to speak to a complaints manager which he refused, I asked for the name of the complaints manager which he also refused stating he is not allowed to give the name out SERIOUSLY!! He was extremely sarcastic and unprofessional. He said he is the complaints department, no, he is customer services!! My advice 'do not order from this company, my last call was agreed not to bill me for Jaguar cars which I have not received yet I am still receiving demand letters, Mr Singh has stated that 6 cars have been sent to me??? REALLY? THATS ABSURD!! why would they send these when I specifically stated over the phone that I do not want them which the advisor agreed to stating she will send me ONE CAR? then billing me for these unsent items... I asked for a RAF stopwatch which I ordered which was promised to be sent to me, it wasnt! I have been sent one Jaguar car.... I refuse to pay for items that have not arrived, I would also question why I was refused contact with a complaints manager? AWFUL SERVICE!!! Mr Singh could not answer my questions and rambled on about 6 Jaguar cars that I need to send back AND SARCASTICALLY STATING HOW ODD THAT i HAVE NOT GOT THEM.... how can I send back something I have not received?? ridiculous. AS FAR AS i AM CONCERNED i HAVE RECEIVED ONE CAR.... i WILL PAY FOR 'ONE CAR' AT THE AGREED PRICE OF £1.99.... IF YOU SEND ME THE RAF STOPWATCH COSTING £2.99 I WILL ALSO PAY FOR THAT TOO..... THAT WAS WHAT I AGREED TO OVER THE PHONE MONTHS AGO, I DID NOT WANT NOR WISH TO PURCHASE 6 MODEL CARS, I have been billed for 3 cars costing £36.95 which unbelievably includes ADMINISTRATION COSTS? Please remove me from your database and stop hounding me.... If you send me a final bill of £1.99 I will be happy to pay for this as it is what I ordered to start with. ONE CAR!! IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEND ME THE RAF STOPWATCH i WILL ALSO PAY FOR THIS £2.99 AS I ALSO ORDERED THIS WHICH WAS AGREED OVER THE PHONE TOO previously....Also please provide extra training on professionalism to customer service staff, Mr Singh's attitude has not done the company any favours. I hope this explains everything clearly enough as MR SINGH did not seem to understand my complaint nor was he interested, he was too busy talking over me loudly, Rude Rude Rude!!!

I have read the comments on this page …
I have read the comments on this page and want to add mine. Generally I have been pleased with the models I have received - some coaches and buses , a few classinc cars and all the Jaguar collection. I have had some issues in the past with some items being damaged on arrival but Atlas sent replacements when I complained. I find the pacaging abit "hit and miss" sometimes, items arrive in stout cardboard boxes but mostly they come in plastic bags and the boxes are often squashed. Please , Atlas, can you get the items shipped in the boxes - they are advertised as collectors items so the boxes are important t preserve their long term value. The only other issue I had early on was in receiving buses I did not want but again Atlas cancelled future items when I asked them to. Overall I think they provide decent models at a reasonable price. You get the first in the series very chep, usually £1.99 then the second about galf price and then they cost about £18 per item.

Lost potential customer.
I was given the website by a friend who knew I had a historic Dinky toy collection.
Having examined the site I ordered a Dinky on in July 2017 costing 1.99 . This arrived and I was satisfied that it was a good product.
The next thing a further Dinky arrived which I was not expecting and although a similarly good product, I was not at all interested in it, rather I would have preferred a different Dinky certainly one of my own choice.
I subsequently received an invoice for 1.99 + 14.98.
I now realise that the offer is not as clear as I imagined. I probably should have read the small print which tells me that I will continue to receive Dinkys randomly and be charged accordingly.
This situation I found unsatisfactory and duly called the customer services.
They did not understand any of my queries and I therefore merely paid for the Dinkys received and cancelled any further orders.
This is a great pity since the product is good and I would have liked to continue collecting the Dinkys of my choice.
I see that this is not possible.
Perhaps you should look to improving your customer services department so that they can understand a customer's queries.

Rubbish company.
Rubbish company.
Normal sub services let you pick and choose plus you can walk away any time and have a reliable delivery of the ordered item. With Atlas however you get none of this and get charged between 18 and 25£ a month then when you want to stop get charged for more regardless of if received or not.
Walk away do not subscribe to them just but the first ones of really interested .

Never ordered from Atlas Editions - Ever
Fed up to the back teeth now!
I originally received an erroneous bill from Atlas Editions in June/July of this year. Surprised to have had any communication from an organisation that I'd never dealt with or heard of, I gave it my immediate and pressing attention. After ripping it up and filing it in the shredder, I gave it as much thought as it deserved and forgot all about it. I then received another letter in late July/early Aug.
In order to put the matter to bed I tried calling their 'Customer Service Team', (Oh how I laugh when I hear that term in connection to Atlas Editions.) each and every time I press the number directed to, the call cuts out. So I decided to wait for them to see if they would contact me again.
Low and behold! I've now received a rather 'passive aggressive' letter from these ne'er-do-wells threatening me with 'further action', if I don't pay for something I've never ordered or wanted. (I'm nowhere near an octogenarian, why would I buy commemorative plates, stuffed cats or model steam engines from these peddlers of tat?)
So please, Atlas Editions, either provide evidence of my order and receipt, of the junk you produce or go and boil your heads. I've got another 40 years before I'm in your demographic, so when I'm senile, decrepit and with a malodorous aroma of urine, please get in touch. Until then, please buggeroff!
PS My grammar check got excited when I typed the words 'Customer Service Team' and 'Atlas Editions' it flags up as an oxymoron!

Apalling product quality
Two 'Steam Engine' pocket watches finally arrived today. They look nice, however, one will only run for an hour or so before stopping, but worse than that, the other doesn't work at all. I have tried to phone Atlas Editons but when I press 'option 2' the line goes dead. The phone line to order new products works fine... strange. I understand from many posts that I've seen on line that I'll be sent products every month but will find it difficult to cancel. Any suggestions?
