What a piece of junk
What a piece of junk! I bought a Zenbook Pro for over $2000 that didn't even come with Windows 11 Pro, and on top of that, the charger broke incredibly quickly, in less than 10 months. And to make matters worse, they don't even sell the charger on their own company's website. Their customer service is terrible; I contacted them, and they wouldn't even take responsibility for their product. They told me that since I didn't buy it from their website, they couldn't help me at all. I buy it at B&H photo

Worst support that I have ever faced. Ordered the laptop from the official website, they didn't manage to deliver and lied about the delivery

Too much time taken to diagnose issues
My Asus ZenBook Duo stopped working just after a year. First, the trackpad stopped working, which was fixed with a BIOS update. But after the BIOS update, the laptop wouldn’t power on at all. I sent it to the repair centre, and they are taking ages even to diagnose the issue. It has been three full working days since they received the laptop, and it still hasn't even been picked up for diagnosis. Unfortunately, it failed after 14 months, so it’s out of warranty as well.

I puchased a Vivobook 15 OLED X1505ZA 21st November 2024. Delevered on the 23rd nov.
Its beautiful but seemed flimsy. Im in my 50's & disabled. I have no strength in hands , wrists, fingers.. I have EDS.
The notebook has been kept inside its protective case and because of my hands, Ive only used it maybe 5 or 6 times.
In September I wanted to take it to a class, I plugged it in & left it to charge while I got ready.. 30 mins later I realised that it wasnt charging, when I unplugged it, it immediately died. I put it away & due to health issues, I didnt look at it until last night. I plugged it in and opened it up, remember I have zero strength in my hands.. as I opened it, I heard a very quiet noise from the laptop and realiased the screen was cracking in front of my eyes! It hasnt suffered any form of impact or accident, it just crackled as I watched it. I phoned amazon who directed me straight to Asus.. Amazon told me it has a 2 year warrenty.. It doesnt.. Asus say its 12 months and that I have caused the damage to the screen? They did not want to know and offered ZERO help!
This is a gaming style Notebook so PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS FOR YOUR KIDS..IT IS PATHETICALLY FRAGILE AND A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.. DO NOT BUY!!!
Gaming Laptop nearly set on fire with…
Gaming Laptop nearly set on fire with no game running. When i sent the laptop in they said the repair costs more than the machine. They asked me if i would like to scrap the laptop or return it to my adress. I returned it to my adress and they sent me a report saying repair was paused because i asked for the laptop back and said it was only cosmetic damage. I requested for the parts needed and they sent me the diagnotics report saying cosmetic damage. They said repair was paused by customer as if i asked them not to repaur it. I even asked for another technician to take a look and this was the same outcome. If i asked them to scrap the unit they would have repaired it and kept it for resale. The report did not say that there was anything wrong with the screen, fan, or any internal parts. But apparantly replacing the plastic covers will cost more that £700 which i bought the laptop for. Please be aware before purchasing from this company.
ASUS Zenbook S14
ASUS Zenbook S14. Worst laptop I have ever owned (maybe except from a HP Envy). Suffering endless stability issues with Windows..... Apps crashing frequently ( certainly more frequently than the DELL I owned previously). Cant recommend this manufacturer. Will switch back to DELL as soon as this POS dies on me.

CS suck…
I tried and begged asus to take my money in order to buy a Rog Zephyrus G16, but they cancelled my order serveral times. CS just said "Ooops sorry" and couldnt give me a reason into why it was cancelled. Ddin't even bother to give me a solution, they just send me a list of their re-sellers and ended the chats I had with them.
ROG STRIX X870-A Review
RGB adds to the premium features of this motherboard, with no problems on audio and helpful wifi 7, but software stays mixed.
Got this for $499 at its newest low from centrecom.
Positives:
-Great overclocking opportunity, more than enough for gaming and has an AI overclocker which slightly helps.
-Cool RGB effect on a "for those who dare" text
-ASUS excecuted the PCI.E lanes and ssd shields greatly for aesthetics
-Easily customisable shutdown effect in armoury crate(the rgb effect that triggers only when the system hasnt booted)
- Outstanding back I/O from amount of usbs and their functionality.
Negatives:
-No colour tuning for asus products(expected for my ROG STRIX 3070 which is commonly discoloured from other peoples experiences and slightly spoils ASUS's premium feel and comfortability for Aura Sync)
-When using armoury crate, you cant directly see the shutdown effect because the motherboard needs to be part of aura sync when armoury crate is on.
-No dual bios unlike its predecessor, the ROG STRIX B850-A, which is concerning.
Support is non-existent for…
Support is non-existent for Chromebooks. You go to their self help support site and look up your Chromebook model and the FAQs all talk about Windows issues not Chrome OS advice. Clearly Asus does not care too much about Chromebooks other than offering them as an option over Windows PC's. I found a bit more help on Google's Chrome OS site forum than anywhere else. Even Asus support chat seems mostly clueless on offering any real advice for issues. They mostly just offer either doing a Power wash or a reboot. I might as well be running a Linux distribution given the lack of support. This is my first Chromebook in several years, and will probably be my last.
DON'T EVER BUY ASUS!
Absolutely appalling. My second PC & the same problems so over again. Steer well clear of Asus. Their laptops are over priced & unreliable. Don't ever buy one. They are appalling.
Great product
Great product, quality, and warranty. A wonderful brand to deal with... very prompt and honest.
Hard to get in touch
I had a terrible time getting in touch with customer support but they finally responded by email. Will wait and see if they can resolve my GPU issue
Using asing gaming laptop is the worst…
Using asing gaming laptop is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced, it wasn't worth it.
Never buy Asus products
I’ve been using Asus products since around 2013–2014 and, to be fair, my early experience with the brand was quite positive. I had two Asus laptops bought over 10 years ago. I don’t even remember their exact models anymore, but they are still alive today. Yes, they are painfully slow, yes, they struggle with anything modern – but they work. And for hardware that old, that’s already something.
Unfortunately, everything Asus has released that I bought in the last 5 years feels like a completely different company – and not in a good way.
Over the last 5 years I’ve owned 4 Asus devices as my main daily drivers:
2 phones: Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 9
2 laptops: VivoBook S14 OLED and Asus TUF A16
And I can say honestly: in terms of reliability, this has been the worst tech experience I’ve ever had with any brand.
Phones: great on paper, painful in reality
Zenfone 8 – I had two units of this model. After less than a year of use, both of them ended up in the same condition:
- battery that barely survives until lunchtime,
- screen-on time around 2 hours at best.
- On paper it’s a compact flagship. In реальности – a phone that lives like it’s permanently stuck at 5% battery.
Zenfone 9 – after one of the software updates it started randomly turning off. I contacted support and, unsurprisingly, the standard answer was: “Factory reset your phone.”
From the point of view of a support script – logical. From the point of view of a real user – I have to:
- back up everything,
- move photos and data somewhere else,
- wipe the phone completely,
- then spend hours setting it all up again…
If every major update turns into a roulette “reset to factory settings or live with random shutdowns”, then I simply don’t want to use this ecosystem. I ended up buying a phone from another brand and I’m not planning to return to Asus phones again.
Laptops: gaming series that doesn’t survive a year and an ultrabook that barely lived two
Asus TUF A16 – this was my work laptop, not a toy. After just 7–8 months of use the touchpad died. The laptop became effectively unusable.
I sent it to service, it stayed there for about 3 weeks. They replaced the touchpad – and now:
- the left side of the touchpad works,
- the right side doesn’t.
So the “fix” turned into a half-working solution. To repair it again, I’d have to send my main work tool away for another couple of weeks and just hope that this time it comes back fully functional. And from what I’ve seen online, this isn’t even a rare issue for this model.
Asus VivoBook S14 OLED – this one worked for a bit over 2 years and then the motherboard died. The fun part?
The laptop was used very gently. It was turned on a couple of times a week for very light tasks. Total real usage: maybe around 100 hours per year.
And now I’m looking at a motherboard replacement costing over 200 EUR. For a device that was barely used, that’s just absurd. A laptop that sees less use than some people give to a coffee machine should not die this quickly.
Summary: same user, same habits – only Asus constantly fails
I want to be clear: I’m not abusing my devices. I use them normally, I’ve had Samsung phones, Apple phones (my wife), and a Dell laptop – all of which worked and still work without catastrophic failures like this.
With Asus, out of 4 devices in 5 years, every single one has had serious reliability issues:
2 phones with terrible battery degradation and random shutdowns, 1 laptop with a dead touchpad and questionable repair, 1 laptop with a dead motherboard after very light usage.
So my conclusion is simple:
For me, Asus has gone from a brand I trusted to a brand I will never buy again and cannot recommend to anyone. On paper they still make attractive devices with good specs. In reality, it feels like buying a cheap lottery ticket – maybe it will work, maybe it will fall apart long before it should.
I’m genuinely disappointed, because I wanted to stay with Asus. But after this many issues in a row, I’m done. Other manufacturers manage to build devices that simply work. Asus, unfortunately, no longer does that in my experience.
Faulty pen after 3 weeks of use

Apparently not a warranty claim - just crap quality - £25 pen plus £151 "Handling Fee"
Stick with a decent suppliers as these are cowboys.
I have never wanted to punch a computer…
I have never wanted to punch a computer before.
This piece of crap was recommended to me by a salesman at Best Buy, and ever since I brought it home I’ve had problem after glitch after issue. I’m sitting here at 930 at night having restarted this piece of crap for the 8th time because it forgets how to open FOLDERS ON THE DESKTOP.
I HAVE A PAPER DUE IN THE MORNING, ASUS, AND I AM PROBABLY GOING TO FAIL BECAUSE OF YOU.
Do yourself a favor and get a membership at your local library, their 100 year old Dell computers are better than anything you’ll get from these people.
