Seems all the produce in Asda is about to go off, the bread, veg, fruit all rotting within a few days of buying, I bought a coconut the other day opened it up and yes it was rotten, the fact prices are so high yet the quality of food is awful .. it should be investigated because something is dodgy they’re selling us rotten food

Don’t try shopping at ASDA within 10’ of Sunday closing
I arrived at the Sittingbourne ASDA store today (Sunday 17/5/26) at 15:50 hours but I was barred from entering the store by 2 ASDA personnel blocking the entrance. They refused me entry saying the store was closed. This was blatantly not true as on Sundays, the store closes at 4pm. After arguing with them for 5 minutes to no avail, I asked to see a manager. This person then arrived and I explained I needed an item from the pharmacy plus a tube of toothpaste. I was told the pharmacy closed at 3.40 but the staff member would get the toothpaste and bring it to the tills. I was then ‘allowed’ entry to pay for the item. This policy needs to change if they want to keep customers rather than alienate them.
Poor Customer Service
I have to say, the shop ( Asda Harpurhey ) is not what it used to be. As a mum, I always bargain shop for clothes, and I’ve always loved the George department. In the past, the staff have always been friendly, helpful, and approachable.
However, over the past few months, whenever I’ve gone in looking for school uniforms or everyday clothes, the experience has been disappointing. The same members of staff are regularly unavailable on the shop floor and always seem to be in the back. On the occasions they are out on the floor, they are often standing talking amongst themselves rather than helping customers.
A few times I have asked for assistance and felt dismissed, almost as though I was being ignored. What has upset me most is overhearing inappropriate conversations and derogatory comments being made about another woman. I do not know whether they were referring to a customer or another staff member, but it was uncomfortable and unprofessional for both myself and my children to witness — and unfortunately, this has happened on more than one occasion.
The women involved are always the same — the lady with glasses and coloured hair, and another lady with long brown hair. Unfortunately, the second lady speaks so loudly that her voice can be heard across the entire clothing department.
I believe staff working with the public should behave professionally and make customers feel welcome and respected. Sadly, that has not been my experience recently, and I felt it was important to raise these concerns.

I usually do an online shop but decided to visit the store instead because I don’t like getting substitutes, I was disappointed when I got to the freezer section the shelves were filthy , things in wrong places , I doubt I will bother with Asda again , it’s put me off seeing how dirty parts of the store are , Scunthorpe store

I been shopping at asda for long time, but with today delivery with items missing and wrong items I will never spend one pound at asda online.
Bought clothing
Bought clothing, didn't fit then had to drive 40 mins round trip then queue 15 mins at customer service to return. Put the fitting rooms back please, absolute nightmare to buy clothes now
Zero stars review about the shop Assistant at Pudsey Owlcoats store that served me made out that my card had been declined when infact that wasn't the case. Technical problems at Asda.
Zero stars review about the shop Assistant at Pudsey Owlcoats store that served me made out that my card had been declined when infact that wasn't the case. Technical problems at Asda not with my card. Has caused me a lot of distress today.
Complaint about the shop Assistant that served me made out that my card had been declined when infact that wasn't the case.
Compensation due regarding the distress caused. At Pudsey Owlcoats store. Email sent in to Asda CEO and customer service. Then a phone call done.
Now it didn't get authorised the normal way via contact less if that is the case then it would have to be chip and pin otherwise it doesn't work.
Now I know that due to myself working in Banks.
So it went through Contactless after I tried contactless and then chip and pin therefore a problem at Asda.
Calling me love that I had to repeat myself twice about a disgrace.
Need and want isn't asking and it isn't saying from her. Especially as all recepits incuding the decline recepits are mandorty to prove a payment.
I had to check my account that the payment hadn't gone through as the amount wasn't on the till showing. That it should be for myself to make a payment.
Especially as she has told me the wrong information.
I only went in as Ariel Colour Liquid is cheaper than Morrisons and got some toothpaste that was also cheaper aswell as food.
Customer call center in Indian stated technical issues if that is the case then the shop assistant should keep her mouth shut about myself been declined as there were other customers around that heard her.
That makes out that I can't pay when in fact I did pay.
4 months expired items on the shelves
I bought some cookies in the end of April. Normal price, not sale. The items were already expired on the 1st of January 2026.
4 months expired items are on the shelves as normal!!
Asda is behind the times and discriminating
I was given a gift card for the birth of my new baby. I tried to buy some formula milk with it. My gift card was refused. The law has changed since late 2025 and vouchers and points can now be used on baby formula, but Asda won’t allow this on their gift cards. This is ridiculous and discriminatory. Not everyone can breastfeed.
Very cheerful staff
I have just visited ASDA in Torquay. The staff at self service tills were a real asset to the company.
They take no responsibility for their products
Tried to make a complaint about an Asda own brand product which was defective. It was a grocery type product so not something for which you would keen a receipt. It was something used over a period of time. They would accept the complaint because I don't have a receipt and can't confirm the date of purchase. The package has Made for ASDA in France printed very clearly. Roll on Aldi opening next door.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. I ordered several items online but the delivery was incomplete and some products were missing. Despite this I was charged the full amount and still haven’t received a refund for the missing items. Poor service and lack of communication. Would not recommend.

I brough the Jasmine Fragrant Rice and cooking oil(not fresh food) from the on-line shop(Asda) and I found would like to return and refund these products. But the staff told I can't return and refund after 1 week from my collection. I checked the return policy. The return period was 30 days.
Absolutely awful place
Absolutely awful place. Both as an employee and as a customer. It is clear there's no good leadership, nothing followed by procedure, but management love to whisper in their office and suddenly the entire shopfloor knows something confidential. Massive mental health problems and huge anxiety rife at this place. Flawed from the top down. Head office doesn't know it's knee from it's neck - AVOID!
Stop selling things you don’t have.
You get two stars because you usually turn up to deliver my food. But that is about the best I can say about the ASDA service.
What is absolutely astounding is that you continually sell things that you do not have in stock just stop doing that have a little stock control and stop listing 300 things on your website of which you can only actually sell 50 of them.
I just placed an order for 20 items and you didn’t have five of them.
But God sake, this never happens at any other e-commerce venue just British supermarkets think that this is acceptable.
Learn to do stock control stop picking off the same shelves that your customers pick off. Becoming actual e-commerce business and stop being rubbish.
I find myself praying for the day that Amazon do groceries because they would never screw this up.
Not a good app or website
Not a good app or website. Keeps losing items from the basket and every time I logged in, my outstanding order value and number of items had changed so I had to add them again. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it and cleared cache etc. I am aware ASDA are updating their IT systems but in the 21st century with so many shopping apps to choose from, this kind of irritation will drive customers away. This will probably be my one and only use of the app and site until the glitches are resolved.
