Rude staff with inadequate ability to deal with allergies
We went to the spa for a relaxed hen do with food at the end. The food experience was utterly dreadful. Whilst I (now) understand that all the platters are made to be shared by two people…. You have made it impossible for people with intolerances/ allergies. The staff were rude, when I told them I was gluten free AND vegan I was told I couldn’t have that. I can be gluten free OR vegan. Oh. Thanks. Tell my body that then please. They then proceeded to make us all feel awkward by trying to serve something up, that was inadequate and being rude to us whilst doing so. We ended up with gluten free bread and vegan cheese as our option. Amazingly limited and poor. My hot coffee arrived cold and had to be remade. All in all a dreadful experience and terrible end to an otherwise pleasant and relaxing experience. I would NOT recommend eating here.
Won’t be returning
On arrival booked in and added scalp massages £55 for 25 mins, seemed an alright price… the reality was a 16 minute session which I husband timed, 3 mins either side for consultation and dressing so really it was about 10 minutes. Absolutely disgusting!! We paid extra for some breakfast with quite a long wait even for the drinks, probably an hour before getting food and actually going into the spa. Spa itself was lovely, get staff service throughout and advice. Lunch inc was nice but small portions so later ordered coffee and cake and flat bread…. The cakes came before drinks after 40 mins, my scone came under cooked and had to be sent back, after an hour the drinks came and after nearly 2 hours and asking and being told 3 times it was on the way, they eventually said the chef had missed it. Safe to say we didn’t pay for that bill but 2 hours of wasted time we’d paid for to use the spa facilities. For the cost of the day, we would not return. Nearly 4 hours just waiting for and having food/ drinks we managed to get around 3 hours of spa time that’s all. Shocking!!
the best relaxing time!
My husband and I had the most amazing day at Aqua Sana Spa Woburn Forest. From the moment we arrived until we left, every single member of staff made us feel so welcome.
A huge thank you to Amanda, the manager, who greeted us with such a warm smile and took the time to explain everything. Rachael on reception was lovely and gave us great advice about the different spa experiences and treatments available. Rhys was also brilliant, showing us around and recommending the Forest Serenity Suite, which turned out to be the highlight of our day.
We booked the 25-minute Forest Serenity Suite experience with Leonie, and honestly, it was one of the best relaxation experiences I’ve ever had. We were welcomed with lavender and eucalyptus aromas, a refreshing drink and completed a short wellbeing questionnaire so the session could be tailored to what we needed.
I chose the relaxation programme, which included an anti-gravity lounger, gentle vibrations, noise-cancelling headphones playing calming brainwave frequencies and a relaxing eye mask. I have regular massages, but this was something completely different. It helped me switch off just as much, if not more. For 25 minutes I completely forgot about work, my phone and everything else going on in life. I genuinely didn’t want it to end, so next time I’ll definitely be booking the one-hour session!
The little touches made it even more special. We chose our own essential oils, had a warm scented flannel placed on our chest at the end, and the gentle movement of the lounger made it feel like you were floating. It was such a unique experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to completely relax and reset.
We also stopped for lunch at the Spa Vitale restaurant and were really impressed. The service was quick and friendly, and the summer menu was delicious. We had the chicken flatbread with olives, which was fresh, really tasty and the perfect lunch during our spa day.
The changing rooms were spotless and had everything you could need. I especially loved the Elemis products in the showers—the shampoo and conditioner were amazing and left my hair feeling so soft. It’s those little luxury touches that really make the experience even better.
The whole spa was beautifully designed and had such a calm atmosphere. The foot spas were amazing, the pools were the perfect temperature and there were so many different experiences to enjoy throughout the day.
This is honestly the best spa I’ve ever been to. Every member of staff we met was friendly, welcoming and happy to help. Thank you to everyone at Aqua Sana Woburn Forest for making our visit so special. We left feeling completely refreshed and can’t wait to come back again.
Poor customer care and didn’t get the treatment I paid for and didn’t know until I was I. The treatment room
Visited aqua sana Woburn today for a stress recovery treatment. Completed a medical form and told by receptionist that it was fine post cancer recovery for the back neck and shoulder massage. Got in the room and the therapist advised she was unable to do the back massage with any pressure, so much so it tickled. Paid £99 for the treatment and complained that what I had booked and what I received was not the same. They gave me a 20% refund but really unhappy and will not be back here due to this experience. Very disappointed and have never been made to feel like a ‘cancer patient’ until today. I appreciate they have policies but I was told it was fine! Had I known otherwise I would have cancelled or changed as I didn’t get what paid for and under the sale of goods act they should have refunded it all. Will be making a complaint to trading standards regarding this.
Refused treatment in the actual treatment room!
I had booked a treatment months in advance and paid for it at that time. We arrived at Centreparcs Longleat on Monday 1st June 2026 and I was really looking forward to my treatment on the Thursday (4th June) afternoon, but I was told in the actual treatment room that I could not have the treatment, because of a slightly bulging disc that I have. I was offered an alternative or a refund! To say that I was disappointed is an understatement! I tried to explain that I had had a treatment last year and there had not been any problem, but was told that they had changed their policy and my treatment could not go ahead. Why on earth was this not covered when I originally booked my treatment? You were happy to take my money! Why would you "Aqua Sana" let a customer book a treatment in good faith, for it only to be cancelled at the very time of the appointment. I feel very disappointed and let down and will NEVER EVER be returning for a treatment with you ever again. In fact, if I could have given you a score of zero I would have! The member of staff who was booked to do my treatment was apologetic and the member of staff on the front desk was apologetic and professional and arranged for a full refund. Shame on you Aqua Sana!
Unfortunately, that's not the end of the saga! We (myself, my best friend and her daughter) were also booked in for an afternoon tea at 15:45 - at 16:20 I had to ask a member of staff why it was taking so long for our afternoon tea to arrive! Apologies followed and a free glass of Prosecco was given and then the tea eventually arrived - it was very nice, but tainted by the experience!
The time we spent in the actual sauna/spa area was very relaxing and we enjoyed it very much.
Disappointing, overpriced
Disappointing. I have been visiting Ragdale Hall, plus other hotel based spas (such as Whittlebury) for a number of years. Heard good things about the size and facilities at Aqua Sana, but the prices were more than Ragdale - which is solely a spa, not a tag on to Centerparcs where you also get holiday makers popping in.
Because of this, I really expected a lot. I expected it to be as good, if not better than Ragdale - where you pay a lot of money but are treated like royalty while you're there
Paid over £500 for a day with 2 treatments to visit Aqua Sana. Both treatments were supposed to be an hour (shorter than usual for the prices) but both ended after 40-45 minutes.
Cost more than I've ever paid for a massage and a facial and to be honest it was just ok. Staff didn't seem to want to be there, no advice offered and when I did ask about a problem I have with my skin, the very young girl just looked at me blankly.
It felt like a load of newly qualified kids from college. There was no one I saw with any experience, or that took any real care to treat the customer individually. My friend experienced exactly the same.
The spa itself is huge, and split into sections. I was so excited to try the various different steam rooms and saunas. But they are basically all the same, jut called different names.
There was hardly any actual steam in the room, and when it does steam there was no different smells or experiences. The seats in all of them were hard and uncomfortable, and there was far too many people there, so squeezed into rooms, too close to other people (many on their phones!) or groups of people all talking loudly and with no respect for others that may wish to relax and enjoy the experiences.
Very few places to lay quietly and comfortably. Even the water beds were not what I expected, soaking wet, dirty, just not nice.
On the plus side I cannot fault the cleanliness generally, in all the spa rooms. It was just the water beds.
The pool was nice but so full of people it wasn't relaxing at all and you couldn't get to the jets, people just stayed by them for hours. There was also a big group of people with additional needs that were understandably shouting and screaming, adult men staring very closely at women, which can feel a little uncomfortable with everyone in swimwear. I completely understand that spas should be open to all, and it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves, but perhaps there should be specific days for such groups, as it does have an impact on people who have saved for a year to have a truly magical, relaxing experience. In the same way you would not expect kids to be allowed to a spa on the same day as adults.
Food and drink - We were given a drink on arrival but had to pay for a croissant. Lunch was included but a very limited choice, and 3 of those were not available. Service was slow and like a centerparcs, not a spa retreat. Food was underwhelming and portions were small. We asked for a tonic water, to be told they didn't serve it. Yet Gin and Tonics were on the menu!
Basically a disappointment all around. If this had been a simple hotel spa, it would be fine. But for a day costing over £250, with nothing included except for a small lunch, plus another £250 spent on treatments, to be honest I felt robbed.
Overall the spa experiences are the most disappointing - there should be salt based rooms, herbs, different heats and experiences. They need at least one more pool, and I coudl not find a hot tub anywhere!
I have obviously been spoilt at Ragdale, but I will now never go anywhere else as this is what a spa experience should be. If you've never been, go! It's amazing!
Worst spa experience ever!!!
Visited Aqua Sana in Longford, Ireland. The worst spa experience I have ever had. The steam rooms were great but everything else about it is far from good. I had an Elemis facial, the lady who did the facial was lovely but I doubt the products were Elemis .. I didn’t feel like I had had a facial .. zero effect! Everything is tired and frankly it doesn’t feel clean. The lunch included in the expensive package was very, very poor. Had been heated up and lacked taste. Do not waste your money it’s not good!
Not the same relaxing experience it was
Really disappointed in our recent visit. Have been many times in the past and always enjoyed the spa’s, however, we visited last week and it was extremely busy and noisy. Guests were taking photos and videos from the balcony of the pool and everyone in it as well as having phones in the saunas taking photos. The noise levels were really high with people constantly talking loudly and laughing even in the quiet relaxation waterbed area. Definitely gone downhill which is a shame.
Disappointing
I visited Woburn Forest Aqua Sana in April.
Vitalite cafe is a joke. The portion sizes for the included "dinner" are a small snack I'd give to a child. I had the Moroccan chicken focaccia and cannot recommend it less. It came with a pathetic salad of a few pieces of lettuce and carrot. The focaccia was like a third of a flat panini and the chicken was bland and dry. No flavour and no sauce. An awful meal which took 30 mins to arrive. The cafe was very quiet when we were there and there were a lot of staff around so I don't know what the delay was. We were trying to order for a while before anyone served us - the staff were stood in a corner talking to eachother and not checking tables. I was starving when the food arrived and it was so small that I was still very hungry after.
The sauna itself is a scam for what you pay. The "25 experiences" are just the same 3 things over and over: cold sauna rooms, steam room, relaxation room. They have a few shower "experiences" but they are literally just walk-in showers. Considering how much we paid I'd expect there to be more on offer. All of the treatments are additional to the main fee and extortionate prices.
The sauna rooms were all busy so there was a lot of waiting around for space. It was a far cry from what was advertised. I won't be recommending aqua sana or returning.
Most underwhelming experience ever
Most underwhelming experience ever. Basically lots of different rooms with different types of beds to sleep in and a couple of saunas and showers.
Also far too many people allowed in at once.
Wish I’d looked on here before I booked.
Angela's massage was fantastic!
Angela was fantastic! I've been going to Aqua Sana Sherwood for years and had around 10 different masseuses in that time and the massage I had today was absolutely beautiful - definitely the best one I've had yet!
Disappointing
Returned after several visits pre 2020 - always enjoyed it and the price was reasonable and included treatments.
Paid £130 this time for 4.5 hours in the spa, aternoon tea and a 20 minute facial. Bearing in mind - you used to get a full day and a 50 minute treatment for the same price!
It was very busy, people talking far too loudly and staff standing around chatting and laughing.
The afternoon tea was very basic. Not much more than 2 tiny sandwiches, and some small cakes.
While the facial was nice, it was in an open plan area next to the main reception. I found this very odd and was distracted by the noise and going’s on I could hear around me.
All in all I was pretty disappointed. £130 is a lot of money for an afternoon but based on previous experience I thought it would be worth it. It wasn’t - and I won’t be returning.
For saying they have hiked the prices considerably - the place has seriously gone down hill. Such a shame.
Absolutely shocking
Absolutely shocking if you have a voucher for the spa don’t both you can’t book in online have to call up to make a booking was waiting on the phone for 45 minutes before anyone answered, when they finally did they seemed so bored and so unhelpful and unsympathetic. Been here a few times and liked it however this has changed my mind completely!
Not as expected!
We returned to Aqua Sana Spa, after a break of around 2 years, what was once a calm & relaxing oasis is now overcrowded & not particularly relaxing at all! The welcome at reception was frosty to say the least, & we were charged twice for one payment, a matter I’ll be taking up with Aqua Sana as soon as I can contact them!
My daughters had a 25 minute massage each which only actually lasted for 18 minutes, they did say the therapists were sweet though, something positive at least! When in certain areas of the spa there was an overwhelming smell of sewage, we did report this to the representative on duty within the spa, she was already aware of the problem, suggesting that we were not the only people to have reported this, duly she went off to “have a look!” Sewage & a spa reliant on water based treatments are not a great combination I’d have thought?
The whole spa felt overcrowded, with wait times for many experiences, hot tubs & relaxation areas being the worst affected!
Overall the experience was certainly not the serene & calming experience we had been expecting, needless to say we certainly won’t be returning, which is unfortunate as all our prior experiences have been wonderful!
Made a booking
Made a booking. Over £250.
Tried to call the number provided in the booking confirmation to find out further details. On hold for an hour. Someone answered and immediately hung up. I called back and had to listen to the hold music again for over 20 minutes before giving up.
Does anyone even work here? Can I get my money back.
Overcrowded, noisy and not at all relaxing
We paid £109 each for a relaxing spa afternoon but it was too crowded and too noisy. There is no signage to remind/ask people to talk quietly in the spa rooms; every spa room and area was full of people talking and laughing loudly it was not at all relaxing! We were so disappointed and will not be returning.
Overcrowded and not relaxing at all
About 3x too many people in there, squashed in like sardines in all rooms and good luck trying to get in the two tiny hot tubs outside. The pool was very cold, as were all the relaxation rooms. It’s a lovely place but badly managed and not at all value for money. The least relaxing relaxation experience, I came out more stressed than I went in!
Crowded and not luxurious
Nice decor and aesthetic, could be a soothing relaxing spa, but it’s just too BUSY. They allow too many bookings at once and everyone suffers. Queuing in a wet swimsuit for a spot in one of two small hot tubs is not what a £90+ spa afternoon should be about. Very disappointing. Rubbish hairdryers too - and the changing rooms were equally overcrowded.
Completely impossible to contact
Completely impossible to contact. They have no complaints process. No idea how they can exist
Yuliia was absolutely fantastic
Yuliia was absolutely fantastic! My first ever massage as a present from my girlfriend and will definitely be coming back. Got the deep tissue massage and had some lovely conversations :). Had a spa evening the day before and loved the layout and the guided sleep thing. Yuliia was so lovely and managed to really ease some serious back pain I've been having and also instructed me on how to keep my muscles relaxed in the future.
