Very poor service, inappropriate design, and late
I paid for an Apex surveyor to survey my house as a second opinion/optimisation of the installers proposal. Prior to the survey I gave Apex the installers proposal and my strict aim of having sufficient power via the panel and battery to minimise the expensive day tariff my supplier. The surveyor came and looked professional in his measurements, but this is where the professionalism ended. Apex were:
1. Late in the return of a design from their 1-2days turnaround estimate. I got a design at 5pm on a Friday after chasing them.
2. The design was totally inappropriate for my house, and much smaller than the installers; being only 8 panels on the front of the house instead of the 16 on both roofs and the extension of the installers. Plus a significantly reduced power inverter meaning I had little expansion possibilities.
3. The design ignored the survey data as it had 8 panels on the front where 6 could be only fitted due to a bay window elevation of the roof. The design showed a flat room with not bay window elevation.
4. The design generation capacity was very poor with significant deficits for 9 months of the year mean significant usage of day time tariff.
5. I constructed a query email that was not answered for over a week. I had to make a formal complaint to Apex to get a reply which was 16 panels - the same as the installer.
6. Due to this inappropriate first design and delay in responding I had to go ahead with the installers design but missed my installation date of the 28th April. I had to accept a date one week later.
7. I paid £320 for a design that was the same and came too late. Before and through this process I had informed Apex of my deadlines and why.
I hope Apex can review this case and the poor technical and customer service behind it. They seemed to ignore all the material of the installers proposal although they asked for it, ignored my aim, ignored the roof structure producing a design that was not possible, poor in answering any queries, and last minute reproducing a design exactly like the one sent to them.
I had heat pump surveys and EPCs…
I had heat pump surveys and EPCs carried out on 8 properties. Three months later, three of the EPCs haven't been uploaded to the national register. The other five were uploaded in July. Had a call back from Apex yesterday to say all my EPC are now uploaded to the register. Q
