Doesn’t even warrant 1 star

Doesn’t even warrant 1 star! Husband downloaded app and went through process of buying a ticket. Bank authorised payment but I’m going back to main screen the app crashed. Husband assumed that as the bank had authorised the payment had gone through but it hadn’t and he returned to a fine! Absolutely furious. Then come on here and see all these reviews and wonder how this company is even allowed to run still!

I booked a season ticket for one week

I booked a season ticket for one week. When I tried to extend it the site would not accept my payment. I returned to two parking tickets. I have appealed. I've used them around six times and have had various problems, receiving fines on three occasions. There's no alternative here being the only long stay parking. I dread using it. I think the problems paying are ridiculous and seem weighted to taking more money from honest people.

I have just got a penalty letter too!!!

I have just got a penalty letter after correctly paying for my ticket. This is outrageous and fraudulent, how many people would just pay thinking they had done wrong?? I legal scam is happening here!!!! Now I have to prove I have paid, which I can as I kept my ticket after reading reviews before having to use their car park that all said they would try and say I hadn't paid and displayed! This is the worst company I have ever come across for such blatant fraud!

Impossible to Contact - Useless Company

All I want to do is to buy a parking ticket for Arundel station. My crime: I don't own a smartphone. I tried to book online. The website offers Arundel as a location and then fails to recognise it when you opt for it. I've tried to ring Apcoa. At the time of writing, I've been waiting for 15 minutes to speak to a human - and this is the second time of trying. It is SO frustrating. Why can't they at least offer card payments as an option?

APCOA and the App is awful

Apcoa machines are throughout our town with a few exceptions, they are all pay by app only and I hate using it. The app rarely works first time, I'm always getting the message 'payment error', the QR code doesn't always work either. So I have to go home and try to find out how to pay online later in the day. And they don't make it easy to do as it's hidden on the website. What's is wrong with a card?! Can't get through on the phone either. Exasperating company. I now walk a further five minutes and park elsewhere.
What do the elderly do if they struggle to download or use an app. Give me a card machine anyday.

SCAM - Session extension doesn't work

I have 8 parking apps on my phone. We all know that paid parking is practically a criminal industry, but Apcoa take the biscuit.

The app is buggy, slow, and asks for you to sign in every time despite ticking the 'remember me' button. Every payment requires separate authorisation, despite you giving it your full card details AND security code. It cannot be used quickly or well.

I paid for a full day's parking at Royston train station that ended at 3.39am (Really? What an inconvenient time... oh wait, that's probably the point! To catch you out!)

I tried to extend this immediately (in the middle of the previous day) to cover a full 2nd day (using the helpful 'extend' button on my current session) - the app took me through the entire payment rigmarole, I approved with my banking app. I got an email receipt for my first session but not my 2nd. There is no indication of my 2nd at all. I extend again - the whole process, again no confirmation. I try to call Apcoa, and am on the line for 15 mins on hold. In the end, I have made a (legally defined) reasonable effort to pay. I hope my 2nd session starts up at 3.39am & get on with my day & evening.

70 miles away the next day I wake up at 7.15am & check my current parking session. There isn't one. My two attempts yesterday failed to extend it (great app). I start a new session for the whole day - again. Rigmarole. And pay for a 3rd time.

6 hours later I get back to my car at Royston train station. There is a ticket on it. So between 3.39am & 7.15am, in -7C temperatures, this company send people out to slam tickets on cars parked overnight, on a system that does not allow session extensions? SCAM. I'll see you in court.

Avoid Manchester Printworks !!!

Apcoa staff at Manchester Printworks have a culture of racism & hatred towards ethnic minorities. Witnessed staff using racial slurs whilst watching & talking to Apcoa customers on intercom & CCTV. All stems from the supervisor there unfortunately, the worst training experience I've ever had!! Goes without saying guys....AVOID !!!

No help from APCOA.

No help from APCOA.
The error lays with me that is for sure, but this review is on the total lack of help offered from APCOA if you by accident make a mistake.
Earlier this week I parked in the basement of the Comwell Portside in Copenhagen overnight. I procured my ticket via the automat in the basement. By accident I pressed the wrong button on the screen and the duration became to short. I discovered it right away and procured a new ticket with the correct duration for the same car 4 minutes later. Right after I got to my hotel room I contacted Apcoa on the webpage and send documentation for the incorrect purchase. I was hoping that Apcoa would be able to cansel or return the reservation for payment of the incorrect ticket but after I have been writing back and forth several times I give up. No help from APCOA whatsoever was given.
I must say that I am very surprised about the total lack of service that APCOA offers. when a costumer makes a small mistake.

This is the website for APCOA in…

This is the website for APCOA in Denmark!! APCOA have somehow contrived that complaints about their UK operations end up on this website while their UK website has a 4.1 rating. I have had a terrible experience with them - but I am now going to the Trustpilot site for their UK operation apcoa.co.uk to log this

You can't trust the systems with these guys.

I'm seeking to understand the other APCOA Trustpilot page where there is a 4 star rating and a lot of glowing praise, which seems unlikely for a parking company. My experience was poor, I paid in full day by day and was later told it was possible to save using other methods by Warwick University staff. In spite of this, I got a completely unwarranted fine where I have clear evidence I had paid for the period concerned. Very concerning. The complaints website seems to expect this and gives you a tick box for it, while constantly displaying a bold 'PAY' box. The demand letters are unpleasant. The car park itself has bumper level girders which are left dark grey. I damaged a number plate on one. I am left with a rather poor view of this company based on recent experience.

Truly awful cowboy outfit!!!!!!!

Got a PCN for parking at Palmers Green railway station as I was there longer than expected due to a farce on the trains.
Fair enough I did park outside of restrictions
NOT FAIR that the signage is not clear and this used to be a pay and display car park, so as an occasional user I was not aware ANPR had been introduced.
Truly awful cowboy outfit!!!!!!!

Truly awful company in every sense

Truly awful company in every sense. Do not like to be challenged and if you ask awkward questions they just cease replying. My experience is not APP related but relating to a drop off penalty charge at Heathrow airport . I successfully appealed against a penalty but entered the drop off zone twice as couldn’t park the first time as no spaces. There was a short period of time to my second ( successful) attempt to drop my son off. It was obvious I had a problem as why would I wish to revisit: however despite that had to pay an extra £5 . That’s a small amount but as far as I am concerned it was a matter of principle. However that phrase doesn’t seem to be in their remit. On the subject of APPS I would ask the question : WHY do you need them anyway ??. Parking should be simple but now is like a minefield and is impossible for many people with no technical access. They seem to have been conveniently forgotten by this one dimensional company. In fact the only advantage I could see is you can reserve a parking space but now it seems that is not guaranteed. It’s purely a money making venture weighed heavily against the general public. One star is too many in my opinion. Notice they don’t respond to the negative reviews which are certainly plentiful. However they do respond to the occasional good review !! That says it all! The only explanation to me is that they cannot defend the indefensible so don’t bother ! They obviously are not bothered in the slightest as they have a complete monopoly. I am in contact ( via my mp ) with the levelling up minister and I understand they are in the process of amending the private parking bill which will hopefully improve the situation. The original act was rather. ‘ half baked ‘ which has certainly not helped the situation. Hopefully the holes in the original act will be shut which will allow common sense ( that olde English phrase ) to come to the fore and thwart companies like APCOA.We will see!

Worst app ever

As someone else said previously. If I could give it a minus star I would. The most complicated user unfriendly app I ever used. I ended up leaving the car park and going somewhere else to park because of it

Avoid these car parks

If I could give a minus star I would. Parked in Llandudno put money in machine no ticket given no money back so fearing a fine had to download the app - with difficulty- and pay by card. Complained to Apcoa by email now going round in circles trying to get money back. It’s only £2 but it’s the principle. They keep asking the same ?’s. (automated) we were told by others later that that machine is known for not giving tickets /refund after money put in. Will not be using their car parks ever again. Disgusting treatment. Not fit to be in business. Avoid like the plague.
