Pros and cons!
Firstly, I’m going to give the negatives.
- As my pet has got older, the premiums have gone up and they are paying out less.
- If you ever try to speak to one of their Phone consultants, they are not empathetic and they can never give you an answer as to whether they will pay out or give you any indication at all of any payments you might get if your pet needs treatment, they will always ask that the Vet gets a pre-authorisation, I just wanted to know or have a rough idea of whether or not my pet was covered, they could offer no reassurance at all. Very disappointing!
The Positives: once they’ve agreed a payout, the process is actually quick and efficient.
If they could be more informative and empathetic on the phones, I would’ve given this five stars.

Our Underwriters take a number of factors into consideration when annually reviewing our premiums, which include, but are not limited to: a pet’s age and breed, any health conditions associated with the breed, where the pet is living and vet fees in that area, as well as any claims history.
To confirm, all claims are assessed based on the Terms and Conditions of your chosen policy, alongside the medical history that is sent by your vet. Unfortunately, we are unable to give a guarantee of cover over the phone due to this.

Animal Friends were quick to authorise
Animal Friends were quick to pre-authorise an emergency operation for my dog, and paid the vets directly. They did have a query on some information but were quick to ask for more information and resolve the matter. The two customer service advisers I spoke to were pleasant, understanding and helpful.

Best insurance company we have ever had…
Best insurance company we have ever had for our two french bulldogs. Processing claims very quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately one of our frenchies was diagnosed with brain tumour, and the insurance covered her radiotheraphy treatment up to her yearly policy limit. Cant recommend them enough.
