I certainly won't be going to there again

I certainly won't be going to their restaurant ever again. £25 for 2 small bottles of Sprite and 2 jacket potatoes. Far too overpriced. The restaurant was heaving, lots of noisy, unruly kids, tables were left uncleared, it took a lady to complain to get someone to clear them so she could sit down. The potato was nice as was the coleslaw but the potato skin was so tough I couldn't cut it let alone eat it which was a shame as I normally love the skins. Not a place I would go to again and therefore I eouldnt recommend it either. On top of that I couldn't have the chips as they're not cooked in a seperate fryer (I need gluten free as I have Coelisc disease), I originally wanted ham, egg and chips. A lot of restaurants cook chips seperately so that they're gf so a big place like this, making a fortune should be able to do it too.

Lovely day in the sunshine

Lovely day in the sunshine, picked up some fresh flowers for the garden, the azalea plant was beautiful.

Good price and delivery

Ordered a lawn spiked on the Sunday which was delivered on the following Tuesday. The item was securely packaged and arrived in good condition. Compared to other suppliers the price was very competitive.

Should I have the requirement and this company can supply I would certainly use them again.

GROTTO-Not sure about the 5 star reviews

Not sure about the 5 star reviews. £15 for 4 minutes? Was absolutely terrible. No photos. Never have I been to a grotto that doesn't offer any sort of family photo. Partner and I had to have separate photos with our son. Felt rushed. The Mrs Claus we got was so rude to my son. Complete and utter waste of money. Never again will I book here.

Tonight we took our two granddaughters…

Tonight we took our two granddaughters to see Santa at Alton’s in Basildon which was booked in advance. Tbh we were blown away with what a wonderful experience it was.santa was so lovely he looked real, smart like a proper Santa. and didn’t rush the girls he had lots of questions for the girls.the entrance to Santa was decorated so beautifully with lovely reindeers singing softly. I couldn’t believe the presents they were ask to choose from amazing. I don’t know how u did it for the money we paid but hoe refreshing to go somewhere and see that it wasn’t all about how much money u wanted to make. The girls were so happy and havnt stopped talking about it. Thank you so much
We all will have those lovely memories .
P.s the young girl( elf santas little helper was so sweet and believable.thank you so much for a wonderful Santa visit.mrs Christine Collin nanny,

There still is great customer service

Went to Alton's to purchase a new smoker. The two guys in the BBQ dept were, customer orientated, knowledgeable, extremely polite and courteous and it was very enjoyable to treated as a valued customer, something that seems to be disappearing in the retail sector. The dept was well laid out, full of product and tidy.
the delivery later that day was timely and professionally carried out. The whole experience was faultless. If you need anything in the BBQ range don't go anywhere else. Highly recommend.

Don’t order online !

Ordered on line just some BBQ rub as a top up present for my brother after seeing them demo at Wingfest - I appreciate it was only £10.00 but the delivery charge was £5.95 for express delivery - more than half the price of the product … ordered on the 30th November… after various emails back and forth - DX the delivery company had lost it - then found it - had tried to deliver it 3 or 4 times but no one was in why they couldn’t leave with a neighbour on by the garage like every other delivery company which is what I said they could do - but this was a complete lie as I was in with Covid and have ring door bell … now told it will be delivered on the 28th December - no apology - no offer to refund the delivery charge .. looking at various reviews they have a serious issue with delivering orders - I’m sure it’s fine if you go in person but avoid on line at all costs … disgusting service. Told them I want a refund now and I’ll find something else for my brother for Christmas Day …. Although I’m expecting that to take a month - so will just go to my back and dispute the transaction … I would be less annoyed if they apologised as they knew it was part of a Christmas gift .. shameful .

Good Afternoon Mr Hicks,

I have had confirmation from the internet team that DX will Try to deliver again on Wednesday 28th December.

Kind Regards

Popped in on sunday (11/12/22) to have a look round and purchased a fake christmas tree. Sorry to see the two chaps looking freezing cold what with no heating on but they were very helpful, answered all my questions and even carried it to my car. Top marks!

Santa's grotto12686

Visited Santa's grotto today with our granddaughter. The cost was £30 per child £5 per adult. I was very very disappointed. The virtual reality ride laster less than 5 minutes, very short walk to the grotto and again was with Santa for less that 5 minutes. The present was a singing, dancing dog which wore a shirt and sun glasses and played 'I feel good'.... Not quite sure what is christmassy about that... But we did receive a Christmas tree twif to plant in the garden. A complete waste of time and money, would not go again nor recommend to others

Today went for lunch, never again

Today went for lunch. After waiting 45 minutes and watching many others getting their meal, i went in search. After being asked for table number and another 10 minutes later my friends lunch was dumped unceremoniously on table. Mine wasnt so i queried it, got asked what was it i ordered, the waitress huffed and stomped away to return with my meal, just seemingly chucking it at the table. Her attitude was appalling and i for one will not go back nor recommend

Excellent quality products at good prices and helpful staff

Last weekend I made a telephone order for a parasol I wanted and had seen online at Alton Garden Centre for a very good price.
Jan in sales was extremely pleasant and helpful when I called. There was a subsequently a slight problem with the charges made to my card but that was sorted out immediately when I called Jan back.
The parasol arrived (free delivery) on Wednesday and is of excellent quality. The delivery driver was very helpful too! Will definitely use this company again.

Appalled at gentleman on the phone Extremely poor Customer service

Have bought many a plant there and enjoyed the cafe too, sadly just experienced one of the worst customer experiences ever. WE purchased 2 Lavatera’Barnsley’ with a Plastic Plant descriptions and instructions attached, showing a white flower (photo can be provided) £11.99 each, the young lady answered the phone on the 31st May very pleasant girl, and said someone would ring me back that day no one did, rang again today 1st June same young lady (very pleasant) put me through to a guy who seriously was an embarrassment to Alton wish I’d take his name. He wanted us to dig up something that’s been in the ground from April drive to and from Romford all at our own expense and with us putting in the effort whilst they offered to do sod all to rectify their ms selling. Safe to say we wont be returning. So much for a family business
