Allianz dont want to help !
We had full comprehensive car insurance and involved in a crash, where it was not our liability. It has been nothing but issues, we don't live metro so everything is too difficult, they couldn't find a hire car for us by all accounts so told us to go a find our own and provide them a quote and they will reimburse us !! We were then told the quote we had was too expensive ( by $7 a day by all accounts) and they have offered no help, we have spent hours chasing they had no idea what was happening with our car we had to tell them. We called RAC insurance as they represented the other party party and they have been nothing but helpful, found us a car straight away from the same suppliers that Allianz by all accounts could not !! Dont get insurance with Allianz they dont want to help!
Utterly incompetent and arrogant…
Utterly incompetent customer service from start to finish - starting off from the ridiculous process while standing on the roadside with a wrecked car, police and ambulance... simply finding out what to do next took 35 minutes- now, want to deduct full year's premium from write-off valuation of car and not honour any other expenses like hire car, additional travel expenses etc ...all from an accident no fault of our own and other driver admitted and acknowledged responsibility.
Any questioning of their poor service and attitude etc is met with "please don't use that tone"... "maybe you could call back"etc. Who should tow car?..where should they take it?... is the hire car approved? etc etc .. all things that are too hard apparently.
Try escalating... they simply don't care...
Moving ALL my policies from this group... once they have your money forget it. This is why insurance companies have a bad name.
UPDATE:...Wow, reading all these reviews it looks like som many people have had similar experience...staff on the phone who are not in Australia and have no idea about distance and regional towns, no proactive assitance whatsoever, no responsibility... just try to pay out as little and as slowly as possible "once the money is in your account the matter is closed"...regardless of whether you have claimed all xpenses, hire cars, etc...NOBODY checks whether you have actually completed your claim ...they just want to pay the minimum and move on...don't like it - talk to the complaints department.
What an appalling reputation this company is building... quite deservedly.
How are they still operating.
How are they still operating.
I was assigned a case manager that turns out was on leave....the communication is deplorable no one is accountable. I receive emails 2 months after the date it was prepared. With no time to respond as it was over 60 days. You get told so manny contradary different things that im worse off now than when I started. The stress anxiety frustration time and cost involved has changed me.. it's so bad that my family and friends have either pulled out or went elsewhere.
5 Months Waiting, 600+ Questions, and Zero Payout – Absolute Nightmare
5 Months Waiting, 600+ Questions, and Zero Payout – Absolute Nightmare
I lodged a claim for my written-off Honda Civic in September 2025, and 5 months later, I am still waiting for my settlement. Instead of processing my legitimate claim for $6,532, Allianz has treated me like a criminal. They assigned an investigator who subjected me to two separate 90-minute interviews, asking me over 610 questions and demanding 16 different types of documents. I have provided everything they asked for, yet they continue to delay. I am an international student, and the financial stress and mental anguish this company has caused me is unbearable. If you want an insurer that actually pays out rather than interrogating you for half a year, avoid Allianz at all costs.
Disgusting treatment
Disgusting handling of my claim and the conduct of those within their organisation in relation to my psychological injury arising from sexual harassment and workplace bullying by their insured.
Repeated failures to communicate, procedural inconsistencies, and conduct that has significantly aggravated my mental injury.
I was sent a text message that my claim had been received by Allianz and I would hear from a representative within three days. I received a further text message stating that I can expect a phone call that day from an eligibility specialist. No such call was received. As at the date of this complaint, no call has been forthcoming, or email, nor has any explanation been provided for this failure.
This misrepresentation created a reasonable expectation of contact and support, particularly given the psychological nature of my claim. Their failure to follow through constitutes poor claims handling practice and a severe lack in their duty of care.
Following the above, I have repeatedly sent emails to Allianz requesting guidance on the claims process and next steps due to conciliation being on hold awaiting administrative formalities to finalise the matter. All of which I supplied.
Not a single email has been acknowledged or responded to.
The same pattern of behaviour occurred in my first claim where I put in a complaint that was not actioned.
This prolonged silence has left me with zero clarity on how to continue my claim and has directly contributed to distress, uncertainty, and deterioration in my psychological condition.
At the request of Allianz, my treating doctor prepared a report which they paid for that was delivered on time, and are now repeatedly requesting the same information that has already been supplied. My psychologist also prepared and submitted a formal report for conciliation purposes, and after the report was provided, received an email from Allianz stating that the report was “no longer required.”
No explanation has been offered for both situations. One: repeated requests for a report already provided and two: the reversal of my psychologist report.
This conduct is procedurally improper, undermines the conciliation process, and demonstrates a lack of respect for both treating professionals and the seriousness of my psychological injury.
The conduct of Allianz has directly and significantly aggravated my mental injury, leaving me continuously anxious and distressed. I am a person who has already been subjected to sexual harassment and bullying, and Allianz’s actions have compounded the harm by failing to communicate at all, ignoring requests for assistance, disregarding expert physician and psychological evidence and treating my injury as though it is insignificant, and worse, non-existent.
This is shameful and disgusting treatment particularly given that Allianz publicly advertises a commitment to the care and wellbeing of people, whilst the claims process reflects the exact opposite.

I tried calling the 24/7 support but it says the office is closed. Worst car insurance customer support!
Useless…..
Allianz are the worst
Allianz are the worst. Their customer service is abysmal. I don't know where to start. There has been minimal communication from them and it has been unclear. Nobody seems to know what they should be doing.
Been paying over $250 a month for…
Been paying over $250 a month for years, first time I had a leaky roof they denied the claim. Unreal, thieves.
Very slow to pay claims
Told it would take 7 working days to receive money from claim and still waiting a month later. Had to ring several times and attitude was oh sorry its been very busy here!
DO NOT INSURE!
DO NOT INSURE!! Insurance assessors are tasked to deny claims! Tenant caused damage not insured as it wasn't malicious enough!
I need quick and urgent help with…
I need quick and urgent help with gastroscopy services nearby but Noone even picks my calls even after ringing for half hour.
I am frustrated as I need urgent treatment but can not afford treatment otherwise.
I emailed many times, getting the reply now after 10 days saying that they don't recognize my mail or details of policy asking to send again.
Am I idiot, I said I need urgent help my endoscopy services nearby, but no care.
What the hell
I have been with this company for 15…
I have been with this company for 15 years first time I have made a claim as my car was hit by a e scooter and caused 9500 damage back in July and have been given the absolute run around trying to get my car fixed so asked to be paid out and will get car fixed by another company and can not get anyone to give me a straight answer and have to speak with a new person every time who says they will get another person to ring me but that does not happen.Worst experience ever with Alliance
Utterly disgusting lack of service
Utterly disgusting lack of service. Allianz has made numerous errors in my claim and I’ve had to explain details of the claim numerous times to try to correct their errors. There is never anyone senior to speak to and today it appears that my details have been scammed. I received a scam email from Allianz scammers with many of my details. The consultant tried to deny that this is a result of poor security by Allianz even though there’s no other explanation. Hopefully the scammers haven’t got any other of my personal details. As soon as my claim is through I’ll be changing insurance companies. It’s been the most stressful claim I’ve ever had to make and it’s still not over.
My son discovered water damage to a…
My son discovered water damage to a bedroom wall coming from a shower on the other side of the wall. Simple!! We contacted Allianz who sent out people who discovered leaks from the shower alcove floor.
I repaired the leak but Allianz has chosen to not cover the cost of the wall repairs. The came out with all the weasel words to avoid paying up.
When somebody takes out a house insurance policy I’m certain they would expect something unexpected like this to be covered but not with the weasel words specialists Allianz.
Avoid this mob like the plague. They’re so disreputable!!
Avoid at any cost
Avoid at any cost, been paying them very significantly high membership fee for over 6 years for a house insurance policy, lodged a claim for something very insignificant, then I realized that it's 10 times cheaper for me to fix the issue at my own expense rather than paying the excess. The month after, they increase my membership fee by 40% and the justification is (you lodged a claim, so you're not entitled to the no-claim bonus), despite the fact that I didn't get paid anything and they said regardless, whether you get paid or not, we'll have to increase your membership fee for lodging a claim.
To put into perspective, the new membership fee was more than double what I'm paying now with another provider.
Not to mention being on hold for over 30mins to speak to someone.
A very awful company in so many ways, save yourself an awful experience and a lot of money and find another company.
I wish I could give Allianz zero stars
I wish I could give Allianz zero stars. I drive leas than 5000km p.a and never made a claim yet they hike up my premiums every year and next jan its 41% more expensive. Ive complained and they dont care so Im going to AFCA/Ombudsman. Avoid Allianz and tell everyone you know to avoid or leave them. They only care about profiteering and not the customers who support their business. Shameful
Claim Simplicity
On the 26th October our home was damaged by significant hail. I lodged a claim via the website. Within days I was contacted by the ALLIANZ's Assessor who following assessment appointed their building partner to manage the claim and appoint various trades. The claim has progressed smoothly with repairs well underway.
Yesterday I received a phone call from ALLIANZ to check on the progress this was completely unprompted by any follow up phone call or email.
Hats off to the ALLIANZ team
Allianz = discrimination
Not sure how an insurance company can give Non-Binary identifying people discounts for car insurance over everyone else. This is discrimination under the false pretences of inclusion. Shame Allianz, shame!
wouldn’t use them again
wouldn’t use them again. car was written off and took two months to get my insurance pay out, as soon as the money came in they requested the car to be brought back the day after when i havent had the funds to even purchase the car.
