He patiently answered all our queries, and was quite happy to switch from iPhone to speaker when my husband and I needed a three way conversation with him. I was reviewing my Home & Contents Insurance and had already had 2 on-line quotes & both premiums were well over $3000. Then I tried Youi. I completed the on-line application and before the cost of the premium was revealed I had a call from the Youi Insurance Consultant. He reviewed the information I had submitted, and we discussed some of the details making sure I understood exactly what Youi was covering in the Policy. The premium from Youi was over $1,000 less than the 2 quotes I had already received & for exactly the same values for both the house & the contents. This was amazing!
Being in the middle of a major life change, the last thing I needed was a costly increase in insurance due to my new circumstances. Thankfully the lovely Tarryn answered the call and with kindness, understanding and a few laughs like I was talking to an old friend, helped to update my policy premium to an amount that didn't make me pass out. A bit annoying that it’s not simpler to get a quote but the agent I spoke to was great. The reason I didn’t proceed is the extra excess applied for claims in first 90 days. Totally unreasonable and unacceptable.

Recently had to make a claim for smoke…
Recently had to make a claim for smoke damage to a motorcycle. It was reluctant claim as the vehicle had more sentimental value than a dollar value. All of the team I dealt with at Youi were exceptional at every touch point. The whole process was transparent and well communicated.
After a recent experience where I had similar claim with the RACQ for the same event none of the above occurred. The communication was appalling and I was totally railroaded by the assessor. So much for looking after its members.
I’ve been with Youi for many years and not had to make a claim. Ditto with the RACQ. I know which one I’ll be using in the future.

It pays to follow up
The customer service person did email me a quote and was vey polite. However, she said that she would call me back on the same day to confirm if I was happy with the quote, but never did. So, I stayed with my current insurance provider. I guess she didn't need the sale.
