Complete failure

Complete failure. Of course I should have read more reviews before I purchased this Akaso EK700. Initially I was impressed with all the included accessories - although it promised 2 batteries and I only had 1. I did several trial runs to familiarise myself with the various functions before setting off to the Maldives for a dream holiday. All seemed fine and I was happy with the underwater shots I had taken in the first few days , although I was only viewing the footage on my iPhone.I had purchased 2 micro sd cards at no small cost. On day 3 disaster struck! The very small screw on the back of the waterproof case had worked loose and as a result the retaining clip sprung open and water rushed into the case and camera. I immediately went and asked for dry rice at the hotel kitchen and buried the camera in it for 48 hours but the camera, sd card and battery is ruined.
The clipping mechanism for the case is evidently very fragile and I am sure this must have happened before. It may be a reasonable camera for cycle helmets etc but a costly failure for me. The snorkelling experience was magical but I have few tangible memories thanks to this poor product which has a serious design fault

2 Akaso brave 7 not meet specs

2 Akaso brave 7 not meet specs. I bought the first one, told me it's waterproof and there is no need for case, so on the first use underwater it came up with a leak on the front mini screen.. this burnt the screen and make it useless. They came up with an offer with a big discount on a new one which I bought again. I used it on a swimming pool and after a couple of minutes it came up with the same issue. It was visible that the leak came from the front and not from the battery compartment. Avoid to buy again or if you want.. NEVER USE WITHOUT CASE!!!!! send an email to Akaso but never got a response.......

Poor product life expectancy. Avoid.

The Akaso Brave 7 action camera was great initially, worked well and easily.
However, it has stopped working completely. Won't power-up, despite following all the trouble shooting ideas the manufacturer.
Although we have owned our brave 7 for two years, it has only been used for under 10 hours, with no knocks or bumps.
Akaso customer services seem to think this is reasonable life expectancy.
I don't.
Don't buy. Not a trustworthy brand.

Shocking customer service

I purchased an Akaso camera to use whilst scuba diving based on the product description that stated the camera and case were waterproof up to 30m. I took it diving for the first time and got to about 10m when the camera stopped working and water had leaked into the case.

I contacted the company as the camera was under warranty and their first answer was to put the camera in rice to attempt to fix it... obviously this didn't work so I contacted them again and they refused to refund me for the product.

Absolutely terrible customer service, products that don't work as advertised and useless warranties, don't purchase from them whatever you do!

bad design, delivery experience, support

I ordered a V50 camera to use of a cycling trip.
delivery was delayed and it didn't arrive on time.
my main reason is to use this cycling and I chose it because it has a handlebar mount. the maximum diameter of the handlebar mount is 22mm. The smallest bar or tube found in bicycles is in old, vintage steel bikes - 25.4mm. newer bikes use larger bars. Of the 6 varied bikes I have, this mount fits none of them. When I asked Akaso about this they blamed me for having unusually large handle bars and tried to sell me a motorcycle mount which was sold out, and is priced 5x what it is worth.

I bought an Akaso v50x in hope that it would be a bit better than my 10 year old gopro hero 3 black from 2014. Unfortunately this was not the case. The adverts are misleading and footage has obviously been done on a better device. I suppose you get what you pay for. At least it can be used as an ok dash camera in 1080 60fps mode. The remote control did not work either. The only good thing was the display and easy UI.

It's a no from me

Camera takes ok Pictures, the video quality, regardless of settings is poor, nighttime its just a blur and even though it does not have stabilisation enabled on this, when still, the video quality is still very poor. Haven't tried it in the water yet, but I would imagine that any movement will cause an issue to any videos recorded, wherever you take them. Personally, I would not recommend this product, even at such a cheap price, I still expect the basics to work well. Its a no from me.

Akaso EK7000 PRO great action camera and customer service

I bought an Akaso EK7000 pro action camera for documenting the state of coral reefs after my GoPro 7 failed because of a design fault. The touch screen made the Akaso EK7000 pro very easy to setup for underwater, to compensate for the loss of blue colour. I was very satisfied with the excellent recordings. Then after a few months the camera started turning off spontaneously. I contacted Customer Service and they were very helpful and friendly. After trying resets etc. to no effect CS offered to replace the camera for free. All in all a very satisfying experience.

In case you read Spanish.

Excellent valure for money.

The Akaso EK7000 Pro is the generic, small Chinese video camera and whilst it is not useful to compare it with the GoPro of perhaps more than seven times the price, there are similarities; the quality of image definition being one. This is really good, although the electronic image stability feature is not entirely satisfactory and reaction to changes in the ambient light are a bit slow.

However, the small instruction leaflet accompanying the product is singularly unhelpful. It is necessary to go online to download the full set of instructions but even these are woefully inadequate; they do not cover many of the camera's claimed functions, accessing some of which requires one to scroll the menu screen but no mention is made of this in the manual, thus (in my case) making it impossible to operate the unit and I was tempted to return it to the supplier. It required several email conversations with an offshore call centre to overcome the difficulties, although I did find the people there to be helpful despite some of their advice seeming to relate to a different model.

It has to be admitted that programming the camera is not particularly easy but given a little diligence, video results can be entirely acceptable. Given its cost, the Akaso represents good value for money but failure to provide a SD card as part of the package is not a cost saving, merely an avoidable irritation. I appreciate that others may have had less pleasant experiences with Akaso but apart from the foregoing, I have no specific complaints.

Refuse to refund returned, faulty item.

Bought a car camera through their EBay store. It didn’t work so contacted them. They said send it back for refund. Sent it back same day to address it came from. Even sent them tracking note.
No refund. Very unhappy. Terrible customer service.

Akaso warranty support non-existant

I bought an Akaso Brave 7.

There was dust under the lens cover, so obsiously these cameras aren't assembled in a clean environment.

Straight lines in images are distorted.

The protective case is made of brittle material and cracks easily.

Manufacturer will only proffer extended warranty if purchased from their Amazon store, not from eBay.

Manufacturer support for devices purchased from eBay is good if you only have technical questions.

Manufacturer WON'T provide warranty support for devices purchased from anywhere else except their Amazon Store. In my case they refuse to provide me with a new protective case. They tell me to go to the eBay seller despite me telling them they are in breach of Australian Consumer law.

The eBay seller name is akaso-direct which gives the impression they are the manufacturer.
