The only express thing I'v seen is the excuses they make to justify delay after delay. Ridicolous how they manage the costumer service. Worst experience ever. Never again
I was apprehensive to book consider the largely negative reviews but I found this service to be perfect! On time to pick up, friendly staff, and took 45 mins to get to Stansted. Good temperature on the bus, it was clean, and the music level was good. I booked my ticket the night before - they obviously give priority boarding to people who have booked in advance. Used the service back to London after my holiday / shorter queue than National Express, too. Very happy, will use again.
I bought a ticket with this company from Stratford to the airport. All their buses were running late during all day and my ticket was in the evening, but they didn't warn me against the delay. When I arrived in the station where was nobody from the company and I was finally informed about the delay for a security member of the station, not for the company.
When I was informed it was too late and I missed the flight, with all the inconvenience that it had (pay a new flight, stay in London for another day, change a work shift...).
All their buses had a delay and they didn't noticed me about that, buy they say that it is not their responsability.
Would never again as bus was late 30 minutes. Driver couldn’t speak English and unprofessional
Made the mistake to buy a ticket with this company in Stansted at around midnight. Their employees kept lying to us about a bus that was about to arrive but in fact we had to wait ~2 hours for the very first bus. Unfortunately there were too many people waiting in the queue and we had to wait for the next one.
The timetable is a joke: either they are not able to follow it or they intentionally lie.
We asked for a refund but they didn't want to give it to us. However, just for the record, I have seen some other people shouting to get the refund and I think eventually they manage to get it.
I will never use them again.
We wanted to go out at Mile End, the person standing to sell tickets when we got off the plane said he was selling for National Express. Went to get our coach to be told by lady we had to get back in the queue for Airport Bus Express and go to Liverpool Street. Their useless manager refuses a refund, it was not his problem! This company lie to get money.
Do not use Airport express. This company is a joke.
I have used it two times. The first time, a few weeks ago, I thought it was a bad day for them and so I gave it another go today.. Made a mistake.
The staff is extremely rude and you wait forever when it's supposed to be every 15 mins. They wouldn't let me take my bag with me when I explained I had expensive camera gear and that I didn't mind taking it on my lap. I was very calm and the man was just shouting at me, I mean he could have said "please don't take your bag with you it's too big" but instead he went like "BAG!!!! BAG!!!" I didn't even know he was shouting to me, I turned around. He could have said hello, talk to me nicely and understand why I wanted my bag with me, but instead he just shouted at me. I ended up having to shout back to him and turn around to get in the bus with my bag because there was no way I was leaving it in the bagging thing. I don't see in what way the fact that I take my bag with me is a problem or make the journey any different. There was no point making a fuss. I heard him shout on other customers then about their bags too. I thought "is he evet gonna leave those people alone or what???"
I am not surprised to see all these bad reviews here.
As I saw in someone's review, the company should be revoked.
Yesterday the bus stopped at Stratford, our stop where only a few people get off.. , me and my friend were at the back of the bus, we had to leave people pass in order to get our stuff in the bagging area. By the time we took our bags out and put on our clothes, the bus driver started the engine and started leaving. We politely asked him to stop and he just shouted at us. We explained we had to let people pass and put on our coat and that he should treat customers with more respect. he didn't even look at us he just gave out.
Every single person in this company is rude, has no respect, never say hello or goodbye, the seats in the buses are very uncomfortable, absolutely no leg room
Stansted airport bus express should have their license revoked for dishonest business practices. They knowingly mislead vulnerable travellers and grossly oversell tickets. The agent in the airport will lie unabashedly, stating that buses leave often (every 15min). I am writing this with freezing fingers in January after waiting outside for an hour and counting. Stansted airport bus express is unethical. Don't make the same mistake I did, take the national express or the train, save yourself the hassle and don't support these swindlers.
Running 15 min late, none apologised, it is rather messy. I could have chosen National Express which has 2 buses during my waiting time. Lower prices justified by the quality.
Terrible service! Abusive man.
I bought a ticket and then asked if I can get off at another stop and he was rude and sarcastic with his answer. I didn’t understand as he kept changing his answer to me. When I said I didn’t understand, he told me that maybe my English should be better. I said he is incredibly rube, and from then the sarcasm became aggressive and he started to take my picture with his phone. As a woman on my own I felt very vulnerable and unsafe. I see everywhere this company has bad reviews so why don’t they have customer service classes for their staff.
I bought a ticket from Airport Bus Express having been told by the ticket officer that there was a bus departing from Stansted for Liverpool Street in 4 minutes, and another in 20. In reality when I arrived at the bus station the next bus was not for another 35 minutes, which would have made me late for my connecting train. Therefore I had to rush to the train station and travel on there instead. I emailed Airport Bus Express asking for a refund since they gave me false information about departure times, but they ignored it - and have ignored all my follow up emails. Wouldn't even show the courtesy of replying back to say no. Don't use them.
More of a bus scam than a bus service. You will be late!
We bought tickets from Stansted to Baker Street with Airportbus Express. The original route was supposed to be Stansted > Baker Street > Victoria. We confirmed this twice with members of staff and the driver before boarding, however, not only was the coach late (waiting for the sale of more tickets) but it went first to Stratford, which delayed the trip in 50 minutes. When asked, the driver said he had to go there because of two passengers. OMG!!!! This is ridiculous. Extremely unreliable!!!Do not use if you are in a hurry.
Really bad organisation of the queue.
They sold us the ticket saying that we should running to get the 10 am bus. 50 min from Stansted to Victoria Station.
Now is 11:00am and we aren't half way of the Queue. Pay little more and get the National express is my advice
I couldn’t give them 0 starts.
Had a ridiculous experience where the traffic was diverted just a few miles away the airport and the driver was completely clueless, took the wrong exit and ended up in the traffic jam as a consequence of a car accident. Based on google maps, if he had took the right exit traffic was normal and blu.
It took more than a hour to get to the airport and obviously I missed my flight.
The worst thing was that the driver was on the phone distressed with the main office begging for instructions as he didn’t even know the major roads in London. ( National Express bus easily took the right exit without hesitation and probably arrived to the airport on time !! )
UNPROFESSIONAL AND TERRIBLE!! We bought return tickets by arriving on Stansted airport and there were troubles during both ways. On the way from the airport to London empolyee rushed us to buy the return tickets because, as she said, bus is leaving in 8 minutes. At the end we waited in queue almost for an hour! By boarding they reserved 4 seats for us for the way back, 9:30 am. First thing we found out when we got to the station was that the bus is 20 minutes late. Ok, that is understandable, it is London. But then the empolyee said the 9:30 bus was cancelled and we have to wait for another bus arriving at 10:40. Just like that, first it is late and then it is cancelled. That is inadmissible!!! I asked three times the employee if he is sure we will get into the 10:40 bus, because, you know, we needed to be on time for our flight., but I had never got an answer. Furthermore, next we got an info that the 10:40 bus is late too, at first it was 15 minutes, then 5 and maybe we would have been standing there till now, who knows. To be in time for our flight we had to buy four extra tickets to another bus. After we got back home I sent 2 emails to the company asking my money back, but I have never got an answer.
Don't do it.
The few pounds you save over National Express will guarantee you miss your flight or connection.
Usually I don't write reviews, but the discrepancy between what was marketed on airportbusexpress.co.uk and what happened in real life was just not okay.
We had a very important appointment in central London, and was looking for a bus shuttle service since the train was undergoing maintenance during the morning, 3rd of Feb 2018. On the homepage airportbusexpress had in their FAQ list, that in the case of a full bus an additional bus would be supplied. Therefore it was the perfect choice when going to London.
When we turn up 10 min before departure the bus is full and 5-6 people was waiting in front of us. When asking the staff about a seat on the bus or an additional bus they where very rude, telling us to just be there before (we had no luggage apart from my girlfiends purse). When confronted with the info in the FAQ section on their webpage the answer simply was: "Yes, and a bus is on its way". My thought was, okay, we are keeping the departure time of 08:45, but no no. Apparently the bus "on its way" was the already scheduled regular bus at 09:15, and not an additinal bus.
If you have an idea about providing a possitive customer service and generating regular happy customers, step one is getting the expectations right. Promising extra busses depending on demand to ensure 0-wait and no full busses is ONLY okay if that is actually happening.
In this case a ½ hour delay meant alot. Very dissapointing service.
Furthermore it should be noted that the bus driver seemed very distressed and unsecure. He also kept wiping the outside of his passengers window, even when going at the highway.
Booked a trip from Victoria to Stansted. Waited for 50 min bus never came. Ended up buying train tickets. Spend 20 pounds more. Tried to contact, no response. After an open post on Facebook (which they later on removed) I got an reply. The bus did come and I should have booked an earlier one. So no refund. Bad, bad customer service, never again!
