Fantastic safari and experience, they took care of everything and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend and will be booking with them again

When my husband and I decided to plan a trip to Africa, we were a bit overwhelmed. There is so much to see and do and we had so many questions on tours and safaris and traveling within the countries and we did not want to be with a large tourist tour group.
Luckily, my husband found African Budget Safaris and our fabulous travel agent, Claire.
Clarie is fabulous! She took the time to listen to what we wanted to see, experience as well as our budget and crafted a magical experience for us. She tirelessly researched and provided many options until we were totally happy and excited with our trip.
She also answered all of our questions and was in constant contact with us before, during and after our adventure.
Our trip was utterly magical. Claire's scheduling was spot on and we were taken care of from the moment we stepped off the plane until we stepped back on the plane to head home. The lodging was incredible and exactly what we were looking for. Transportation was excellent and on time - no hiccups at any time. We had a memorable experience and are so thankful to have Claire make this possible.

I made an initial enquiry to Africa Budget Safaris which was answered promptly. Bronwyn gave me all the necessary information and arranged for payment of the deposit for the safari. She kept me informed throughout and finalised the booking and all arrangements with minimum hassle. Great service, great company and a great trip with Sunways through Zambia and Zimbabwe. Highly recommended.

This trip was fantastic! The guides were great, the accommodations were great, the hikes were amazing!!! We saw all sorts of animals! The people in South Africa were so friendly and welcoming. And all this for an incredibly low price.

Exceeded expectations on every level. Up close and personal involvement with nature at it's basest level. Saw all animals except the elusive leopard. Spectacular scenery.

Our guides were friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. The accommodations went above and beyond any expectations for such a basic, no-frills trip.

A bit more cultural exposure would have been welcome. The very long and bumpy rides between destinations were unavoidable and, at times, grueling.

I recently went on a safari with African Budget Safaris, and it was an incredible experience! From the moment I started planning my trip, the team was incredibly helpful and responsive. They tailored the safari to my preferences and budget, ensuring that every detail was taken care of.

We had a great time. Our tour leader and driver, Colin Moyo was excellent. His patience, humour and in depth knowledge was great. He got us safely over challenging roads and remote areas and remembered everyone's requests and needs.

I did find the long distances quite tiring, mostly because of the heat. But it is the tropics.
The landscapes were something I had never experienced before and I was unprepared for the sheet vastness and dryness of the desert. Unforgettable and unique.

The lodges were amazing. Each was different and rooms were spotless and comfortable. Buffet dinners and breakfasts with the omelette chef and the BBQ chef cooking to order were fantastic. We were really impressed by the service and helpful attitudes of staff at the lodges.

We saw everything - lions, rhino, hippo, crocs and even a leopard. The game drive early in the morning at Chobe is an experience I will treasure. The boat ride at Kavango and the birdlife was also outstanding. All the rangers impressed with their knowledge of wildlife and plants.

We had an absolutely amazing time on our safari/ panoramic trip!!! My eyes were dazzled!!!

The safari was beyond our expectations, we saw so many animals!!! 100's of animals every day! Leopards, lion families, zebras, elephants, giraffes, wild dogs, hyenas, hippos, warthogs, impala, baboons, monkeys, herds of wildebeest, kudu, the list goes on and on!

The park is very well maintained. The animals looked so healthy, happy, and relaxed. Their coats were gorgeous so they're getting great nutrients! Mother nature at her best!

In addition, the staff was exceptional- extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. Sam, Rufus, and Clifton in particular were amazing!!
Sam knew exactly where to go to see the animals, making the trip extra special. Rufus’ food was incredible! Clifton’s knowledge of the panorama route was great! The pick ups and transfers from place to place were seamless. In addition, Bronwyn's help in arranging our trip was outstanding. You never fully know how things will turn out when you book a trip from afar (we're in the US), but you can feel confident that this team will make sure you are well taken care of.

Thank you again to the team for everything. When we come back to Africa someday to do another safari, we will definitely book with African Budget Safaris and recommend you to our friends!

Working with Bronwyn was a great experience. She was quick to respond to all our questions and concerns….which is difficult with the time difference. She also coordinated our excursions to work with our already scheduled activities.
Discover Zanzibar did a fantastic job. Khamis, our driver, was attentive, informative and entertaining. Saleem, our guide, shared so much information about the history of Stone Town. People should definitely do the Dhow Sunset Cruise - which was absolutely beautiful & very entertaining. And go to Prison Island and see the tortoises and snorkel.
Zanzibar is AMAZING!

This was my second time working with Claire Monson at African Budget Safaris. Claire created a custom itinerary for me and my husband and another couple. It was fairly complex and included the Okavango Delta, all the major parks in Botswana and Zimbabwe, and Victoria Falls. The itinerary was well thought out and planned to avoid long drives between camps. All of the accommodations were comfortable and some were exceptional, and the experiences provided by the lodges were wonderful. The transfers went off without a hitch. We felt very well taken care of throughout the entire trip. Claire was informative and always responsive during the booking process. I would highly recommend Claire and ABS for any travel plans in Africa. They will customize an experience to your desires and budget. Your booking is protected by Trust My Travel that would protect against the operator's insolvency, so you can have that additional peace of mind.

Harriet was so helpful to me in planning my trip to South Africa. She matched my priorities and schedule with two excellent tours! Food, lodging, guides, excursions and safaris were all exceptional. I highly recommend!

Xaoo camp we LOVED our guide, the camp however, needed much improvement.

Mogogelo Camp, hugh group of elephants were at the water when we landed by helicopted, what a sight to see. Rooms clean and comfortable and the game drives incredible.

Wildtrack Safaris Ecolodge
Beautiful place with wonderful people. The food experience exceptional and Shana the manager was our chef, the table was laid out beautifully by Onna. And the coffee was french pressed and we were delighted because the 1st 2 camps were instant coffee only. Rooms were comfortable and beautiful.
Our guide Kasaawe was great and took such good care of us and anything we needed.

Hideway Nantwich,
Another great place to stay. Our all day game drive was great and our guide Ndaba was fantastic. His enthusiasm was great and he knew where to find the Lions and other animals. Also, he. made sure that we
ladies had a place for a bathroom break (real facilities).
Food here was really good and all the people were so kind.

The Wallow Lodge,
This was our favorite because the rooms had a/c and with 100 + temps, Luxury. The Lodge was beautiful situated by water and you could see animals roaming around and coming to quench their thirst. It was the first place that offerered menus to choose from at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Charles and Taz were exceptionally good to us. Bheki our guide was very knowledgeable and he took us anywhere we wanted to go and waited for us.

Claire, Our trip was fantastic and we cannot thank you enough for your assistance and we hope to work with you again in the future.

We had an AMAZING time on the safari! Thank you so much for the coordination and for arranging all of the details for us. Our driver, Halfani, was amazing and my cousin, Sam, wrote a recommendation letter on his behalf to the Ministry of Environment for special commendations. Really spectacular trip and we loved the Foxes camps that we stayed at. Leopard tours was great and everything was exactly as planned and expected.

African Budget Safaris made our African experience easy! Nothing was a problem, Bronwyn was great to communicate with and answered all our queries quickly despite the time delay with Australia! Our tour surpassed expectations and was perfect for our family! Would definitely book through them again and can’t recommend enough!

They have a good selection when looking for a budget safari. Harriet was knowledgeable, gave advice and suggested a few alternatives…..all in all great customer service, thanks Harriet - we had a wonderful time at Aquila Game reserve!

Daniel at African Budget Safari made our trip so easy. We stayed at Umkumbe bush lodge and had a 4 day safari at Krueger and Sabi Sans. There are so many options and we really had very little idea of where we wanted to stay or do how long Daniel helped us narrow that down and then was patient and more than accommodating when we changed our lodging and added people to our group. We were at the end of a mission trip and Daniel arranged to have us picked up and returned to the small town in which we were working instead in Johannesburg.
We really liked sleeping in the platform tents. We had the smallest tents at the bush lodge but the beds were comfortable, AC worked well, and we had hot showers. The food was good. The tours at Sabi Sans and at Krueger were fantastic. Our guides were knowledgeable, pleasant, and as excited as we were to see the animals. My daughter loved the walking safari and a close up look at bugs and plants

From start to finish a first class service , from the booking and support pre trip with Bronwyn , the prompt and comfortable journey to and from Cape Town , and the magical safari drives with Johannes at Inverdoorn.
Ambassador suites are definitely with the slightly extra cost and the camp is much more private and less busy than others....a perfect trip including the stargazing

We just got back from another magical trip to Africa and already want to go back. Daniel at Africa Budget Safaris planned a great trip for us again. This was our 3rd trip that he has done for us, and once again he hit it out of the ballpark. He is so easy to work with, making great suggestions and listening to our requests. We did the 16 day Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia trip and enjoyed almost every moment. The only one we didn’t like was getting dropped off at the airport to go home. Our guide Norbert picked our group of 8 up at the Vic Falls airport and quickly became the 9th member of our group. He was so personable and fit right into the dynamics of our group. His knowledge of the three countries we visited, the animals we saw, and the cultures we experienced definitely added to our experience. The lodges were all comfortable and accommodating. The food was delicious. The experience was absolutely amazing. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
