I have recently completed my plumbing practical training & assessments at Edenbridge. I found the whole experience very rewarding and I feel like I have learnt a huge amount. I came into the process knowing next to nothing but my trainer Callum, who is clearly extremely experienced, was brilliant at helping me understand what was needed and why. I am going into the next phase of the course with the practical skills needed to do the job in the real world.

Just completed my practical training with Tom in Bristol. He was a top class instructor. Super patient and prepared me excellently for my practical exams.

I took my practical exam in Cardiff, Leighton was the assessor. I was super nervous but he told me the worst thing I can be is nervous and to trust the process. That set me at ease and I succeeded.

I thought the setup at both venues was useful for gaining lots of practical experience and practice.

Can't fault them. I learned a lot.

I had a great experience at access training while finishing my practical exams, I had Callum as the trainer on both the training and the exams and he was great, very knowledgeable and calm , nothing was a stupid question. All equipment was in great Nic and all in all a great experience

Leighton was absolutely awesome and very professional for electrical inspection and testing I highly recommend if you want to be taught in. A friendly unjudgemental atmosphere make it to Cardiff. No intimidation which can be very common with this type of course (including within access training) He makes sure everyone is to standard and doesn’t make it easy but gets you through and makes sure you don’t miss anything. Very good A++ service here for inspection testing

I'm leaving this 5-star review specifically for my teacher, Aaron Khal. His energy and enthusiasm are incredibly motivating, and he has a unique ability to make learning easy, engaging, and genuinely fun. Aaron goes well beyond what is expected in the classroom-he generously dedicates his own time to ensure every single student gets the help they need. An absolutely outstanding teacher and was a pleasure to meet him.

Access training as a company have been pretty good so far, only issue I have is communication could be better.

Started an electric course with access training but unable to finance the course due to changes of my situation. I offer to pay a fee until I can pay the monthly instalments in full. I was ask by a staff to send in my P45 and bank statements for them to look at my case. Why is that when most creditors asking for an expenditure? Anyway the staff continued to pressure me everytime he called, all he cares about is me paying the monthly payments. The staff need to be properly trained on communication and how to deal with people. Wishing him well but he just making access training looking bad.

I've paid for a comprehensive course one and a half times, had a lot of trouble outside of that, not been able to keep up. Haven't been contacted once in over 3 years in regards to my progress. I would give at least four stars if I had ever been contacted at all for anything except making payments. Will likely have to pay again and buy new books again

I'm mid way through my training with access. I'll start with what I've experienced that's not so good and then what has saved it for me.

- The content of the webinars is pretty good, there's a couple of things that are incorrect on the power point slides so I think the content requires double checking please but there's the function to watch them back any time, plus the master classes and they can be viewed at double speed which is good.
- Access have plenty of locations which is great, however since I've been on the course, I have not been able to attend anything due to no availability at the centre that I have initially signed up for. This has meant that I'm having to travel and stay elsewhere to do exams and in person training to get the course completed in my desired timeline. So far, it's not been horrendous but the fact that there's been next to nothing available at the location I signed up for is pretty poor and irritating (Reading in case anyone can look into this).
- Internal communication is not a strong point. There's been a couple of phone calls I've had to make as I've enquired about an exam schedule, been sent a 4 day time table and then booked hotels accordingly as I'm having to travel for them, to then turn up and be told it's only 3 days and I've wasted money on a hotel for an extra night. The exam schedule was sent to me and a couple of others taking exams that week by the head office team so I think it's important that they ensure their timetables and schedules are updated frequently before passing on incorrect information and costing students unnecessary expenditure. I also had a situation where I turned up for an exam retake, took the day off work, drove an hour and a half, to turn up and be told that the paperwork for me hadn't been sent through - despite confirmation emails and the exam showing in my online portal. I had to sit around on the phone and web chats for 2 hours trying to be allowed to take an exam. Stress and frustration is just what you need when you're about to sit an exam and the invigilator didn't seem too bothered, just sent an email and said "it's not very good is it".
- The availability between different stages of training can sometimes be disappointing with months between available training sessions or exams near your location so you can't fly through as quickly as hoped. But then again this can be an expectation issue and not a provider issue.

The good bits;
- The access to information on the portal is brilliant, very easy to use and the Google drive is very helpful.
- The practical training I had with Aaron Kahl was very good and he was very helpful and tailored the challenges to different speeds within the class to ensure everyone was still learning.
- The practical training venues are all good and there's plenty of equipment.
- The tutors do hand out their emails and are very helpful and respond within a couple of days.
- The customer service team are good and they do listen to feedback.

I recently completed the two-week practical training as part of the Core Electrical Course at the Cardiff training centre.
The tutors were knowledgeable, approachable and always willing to answer questions. The course is very hands-on, giving plenty of opportunity to practise inspection, testing, fault finding and completing certification rather than simply watching demonstrations.
When I arrived, I was quite anxious about the practical testing side of the course. By the end of the two weeks I was completing full inspections and testing independently and had gained far more confidence, particularly with continuity testing and fault finding.
A special thank you to Leighton, whose patience, encouragement and teaching style really helped build my confidence. He knew when to step in with guidance and when to let us work things out for ourselves, which made a real difference.
If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to provide students with a simple testing sequence or flow chart at the start of the practical course. There is a lot to take in during the first few days, and having an overview of the testing process would help many students, especially those who learn best by understanding the bigger picture first.
Overall, I found the course enjoyable, challenging and very worthwhile. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to gain practical electrical skills in a supportive learning environment.

I could not speak highly enough of James and Leighton at the Cardiff training centre. Keep up the good work lads!

Just had a 2-week practical electrics course with Aaron in Brentwood and it was absolutely spot-on. His style is to encourage you to use your initiative and get on with it from the start, but he’ll keep an eye on you to make sure you don’t do anything silly and he was always there to help if I got stuck or had any questions. I’ve really got a lot out of it and am genuinely looking forward to getting my assessment done now.

Did my two week practical with Drew in Birmingham. He was very helpful and pro active in teaching us students to make sure we understand everything to help us be prepared for our assessment.

I had Pete for my second and third week for plumbing practical in Cardiff and it was a brilliant experience. I learned so much from him. He can explain everything thoroughly and clearly, he has a really great way of teaching and he’s a good laugh to be around! I’ve left confident to start doing jobs in the real world.

When I started the course, I honestly felt completely out of my depth. I lacked confidence and self-belief, and at 46 years old, learning a completely new trade was very daunting.

From day one, Aaron created a welcoming and reassuring environment. He encouraged us to have a go, make mistakes, and learn from them without feeling judged. He gave us the time and confidence to become familiar with the tools and develop our skills at our own pace.

Over the course, I’ve gone from feeling overwhelmed to feeling reasonably confident about my upcoming assessment, and that’s largely down to Aaron’s teaching. His explanations are clear, easy to understand, and he has a real talent for adapting his teaching style to suit people of different abilities and experience levels.

I can’t recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Aaron, for your patience, encouragement, and support.

Just completed my practical plumbing and gas training with Pete down in the Cardiff centre and from week 1 -3 it was absolutely fantastic. From the very basics of pipe work to bathroom fitting it was all taught very well. Pete has superb plumbing knowledge and his teaching knowledge is second to none.

I have just completed my Electrical NVQ level 3 assessments at their Cardiff centre. I found the2 weeks very informative and James Coffey the instructor has been extremely helpful and is a very knowledgeable guy. He worked well with the entire group making sure each one of us had the attention we needed from him.

I had the pleasure of training with Mr. Drew for two weeks on electrical testing in Birmingham , and he was an outstanding instructor throughout. He explained complex concepts clearly, demonstrated excellent technical knowledge, and was always patient and approachable when answering questions. His hands-on teaching style made it easy to build confidence and develop practical skills. Thanks to his guidance, I gained a much better understanding of electrical testing procedures and best practices. I highly recommend Mr. Drew to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and professional trainer.

Just completed practical training in Cardiff which was run exceptionally well by Leighton. I feel a lot more confident working on circuits and have learnt a huge amount in the last 2 weeks. Thankyou.
