FAILED PAYMENT SYSTEM
the direct debit did not process despite the bank details on file being correct. I was advised that queries about this could not be escalated to head office. I was then asked to make a card payment, which was unsuccessful due to incorrect entry of the card security code. Very poor.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify what happened.
When the payment was due, the direct debit did not complete even though the bank details held on our system were indeed correct as stated. At that stage, there was no indication of a system fault on our side, which is why our store team advised that it would be best to check with your bank.
You then asked about escalating the query. This was not refused, but it was explained that head office cannot be contacted immediately by the store. Instead, you were advised to email the store so the matter could be investigated properly, while also being offered alternative ways to make payment.
The card payment attempted at the time was unsuccessful due to an issue with the card itself rather than our payment system.
Following your email this morning, our accounts team investigated the matter and confirmed that the issue was not caused by a failure of our systems, but supported our staff members original assumption that your bank needed to be contacted.
The store has since been in touch to offer further support and explain how payments can be made going forward, as automatic payments have been declined more than once.
We understand how frustrating payment issues can be and thank you for raising this, as it allowed us to look into it and provide clarity.

Following on from the response from Access Self Storage sydenham. No offer was ever made from the removal company or Access to attend and rearrange my items. I took photographs and sent them to removal company and Access in Beckenham amd these were shown to the staff at the Sydenham bramch. The sensor clearly didnt work on this occasion for the shutters and staff saw this happen and didnt even come and check. The Beckenham branch did assist up until the point they closed and even arranged for me to have new boxes to replaced the damaged ones which i am grateful for it appears some wires were crossed as no assistance was offered from Sydenham at all regarding this matter. Although this was an external company, this was company that Access chose and as my goods were having to be moved through no fault of my own, i dont see why i should have incurred any cost for a move, which is why i went with the company contracted to facilitate the move.
Disapointing service all round.
Only moved site due to my current one closing. Company used by Access storage were a joke. They broke my items and literally slung my items in. When i spoke to Access in Beckenham they were great in chasing the company. The company on the otherhand, Casey's Removals in Beckenham were not as great. Spoke to the manager after a couple of weeks of chasing and was so rude and unprofessional. Do not recommend. Sydenham branch was my other nearest. Car Parking was a joke as people parked where they wanted with thier cars and vans. Staff didnt do anything. One of the large shutters came down on my friend all of a sudden. Staff had watch this and done nothing. Even after my friend shouted as this hit him on the head. They just ignored this happened. We have to give them 7 days notice that we are removing items but takes 21 days for a refund which is a bit of a joke. I waited 2 weeks after i received the invoice for a refund. I would not recommend this storage company based on my personal experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t as smooth as expected, but we’d like to clarify a few points.
The first half of your review refers to issues caused by the removal company, which was an external service not operated by Access Self Storage. However, as soon as you informed us of the problem, we stepped in to arrange for them to return and reorganize your unit. We also advised you on how to make an insurance claim for any damaged items. After that, we didn’t receive any further concerns from you regarding the move.
Regarding parking, our facility is a busy site, and while we do our best to manage parking efficiently, it can get congested at times. We always work to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
As for the shutters, they are equipped with safety sensors that immediately stop if something is in their path, making it highly unlikely they could cause injury. However, we take all concerns seriously and would have been happy to address this at the time.
In terms of refunds, we clearly explain that processing can take up to 21 days, and we aim to be as transparent as possible about the process. We regret if this caused any frustration.
From our perspective, we had addressed all concerns as they arose, and we’re disappointed to see this review given that we did our best to support you. However, if there’s anything still unresolved, we’d be happy to discuss it further.

Really easy to organise. Tracie and Marc are really helpful and friendly. They are very efficient. Tracie made sure I had the right size of unit so I didn't waste money on something too large. They had contact details for local removal firms. I used a great removal man (Patrick Johnson) who stacked the unit to make the most of all the space right to the ceiling. The booking in was so smooth and easy. The booking out was even easier and the refund for my part month payment refund was processed within minutes of clearing the unit

Look no further, than Access Self Storage.
To be honest, I left Access Self Storage Sydenham about February this year because my business partner wanted a storage unit more central to both of us.
Our company and ASS parted without any issues, and the team at ASS Sydenham were professional and very helpful with this.
We started a new contract with big yellow in Beckenham, and at first the slightly cheaper cost and the honeymoon period was great, then we slowly realised that the constant changing of passwords was beginning to become a pain, then they informed us that there costing was based on a 4 week contract and not monthly, technically making it a 13 month year. Then they put the cost up by £23.00 per 4 week contract.
That's when we realised we were actually paying more than we were with ASS and after a few other issues, we decided that we had made a massive mistake.
We cancelled the contract with big yellow, and went directly back to ASS Sydenham.
We are now back with them for good, and on a personal note the team at ASS Sydenham are like a small family run business not a giant company.
Also one of there extras is they have an air conditioned computer room that is fitted out like a small office for all to use.
Please look very hard before you choose another Storage unit company,
Access Self Storage, Sydenham are simply the best out there.
