Abels Moving Services Reviews 

This was the third time I’ve used Abels Moving Services over a 30 year period and I’ve been very impressed with the quality of their service each time. This time was a part-load of 8 pieces of furniture together with some glass and china. Every item was completely wrapped for safe-keeping on the journey.
As a part-load, delivery was at the company’s convenience, but this meant only a few weeks delay.
The delivery crew were proficient, professional and very pleasant. They unwrapped all the furniture and took away the paper.
All contact with the back office was also smooth and efficient from offer through to completion.

From booking through to delivery the service was excellent. I needed to have Abels pack for me and this was fine with extreme care. I would highly recommend the company.

The team who moved us were all top class; courteous, helpful and hard-working. They really listened to what we wanted and were prepared to turn their hands to any task. They were mindful of the customer experience throughout and towards the end, when we were struggling to finish the unpacking, they gave us extra time. Abel’s may not have been the cheapest option but they were worth every penny.

I used Abel’s recently for a high- net worth client move. Their quote was on par with other firms. They had been highly recommended for higher end moves and seemed very experienced at handling and storing fine art. We were not disappointed. Nicola in the office took care of organising the move and was a reassuring voice during what was a large move going to multiple destinations. The removals team, led by Russell, were careful to protect surfaces and interiors , packed and unpacked carefully and made the move as stress free as possible. Abel’s were very understanding when we had to postpone dates and we used their storage services too. I would recommended Abel’s removal services and plan to use them again for a similar project.

Great service. From the initial survey, through arranging the move, to the moving day itself, everything felt well organised and under control. The packers were amazing, they took really good care of our furniture, art and everything else. Highly recommended.

From start to finish Abels were great, our communication with the team at Head office via Marie - going through the survey process and later with Sue was incredibly clear and easy.

The move itself was seamless, the guys arrived on time, were polite and did an efficient job on packing our items, with care. They say moving is one of the most stressful things you can do, and Abels took that stress away.

We would not hesitate to use Abels again.

Every interaction I've had with Abels has been great. Not only was Richard very kind and helpful when I first reached out more than two years ago, and he came to assess my items, but my international move coordinator Emma has been absolutely wonderful throughout. She's been knowledgeable, kind and exceptionally patient with me when I, during different stages of this process, have been worried out of my mind. She's a true gem.
The move itself went smoothly and all my items have arrived, as far as I'm aware (!) - I haven't been able to unpack all my book boxes yet, but all the boxes were ticked of the packing lists so I'm sure they are all here.

Both sides of the move went great, in the UK and in France.
The preparations have been smooth, everything was well explained and easy. The movers themselves have been great, they have lots of experience and were happy to answer our questions.

Fantastic service, not one breakage from a 3 lorry load move and the team were hard workers. Special mention to Molly for her assistance on call throughout the move.

Excellent service all round. The planning team were very helpful and communicative. The team on the day were highly professional and cheerful, and gave great attention to detail to make sure all our possessions were brilliantly cared for. This included painstaking wrapping of pictures, glassware and other delicate items, as well as great care taken to protect the house floors, walls, etc. Everything took place exactly as planned, with boxes delivered in advance and expertise on hand (e.g. a handyman to collapse and re-assemble bulky items). Abels are highly recommended.

First Class Firm. Excellent service and staff professional, polite and patient. Would highly recomend.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Abels. I have been chasing compensation for damaged items for almost a year with no response. This is completely unacceptable and not what you would expect from a so-called premium service.

The agent assigned to my move, refused to adjust my invoice despite the load being drastically reduced. I removed a two-piece furniture set, a large armchair, and other items, yet the van was visibly half empty when loaded. Her justification was that I had already made two changes previously — but as a neurodivergent and vulnerable customer, I should have been offered flexibility and reasonable adjustments, especially when Abels’ quotation was nearly £1,000 higher than competitors who are also members of the British Association of Removers.

To make matters worse, at my new property the fridge was left unstable because the crew did not adjust the feet. Adjusting a fridge is a two-person job, which means I now have to pay for two tradespeople to travel in from larger towns (as I live in a small town with limited local services) — adding significantly to the cost due to labour, petrol, and travel charges. On top of this, the fridge is currently a safety hazard: whenever I open the door, the entire appliance shifts as if it might topple.

This experience has left me with extra costs, safety concerns, and unresolved damage claims. I would not recommend Abels.

The whole process was excellent from start to finish. I felt that the team were there to support me, especially when finalising dates became very stressful. The move itself was beautifully handled by the move team, who were careful, efficient, considerate, accommodating and friendly. The move was a genuine breeze due to the hard work put in by the team. Their thoughtful approach took much of the stress out of the move for me .

Par Excellence! Second time engaging Abels for a move for a client and as always without fault. Moving is busy, stressful and requires trust and organisation. They turn up on time, utterly professional, polite, calm and get on with a job in a seamless fashion which leads you to feel that your are immediately in safe hands.
