No goods received and no correspondence
I ordered a shoe cupboard at 470 pounds and instantly received an e-mail confirmation. It said the payment would be in the name of 'The Retail Group Ltd'.
Payment was taken within a day, the 21st of December, and I have had no goods or updates. I have e-mailed lots of times but had no reply. The telephone number is not in service. What terrible behaviour during such a difficult time. I presume I have lost the money.
Scam business not fulfilling orders
The business is being run by the registered company The Retail Group Ltd which includes as a names direct the former director of the liquidated former owner (Matthew Fuller) and the person who he claims is operating the business Ben Percival.
They have both been fobbing me off for a while now but I am now on the process of collating evidence regarding their operation to refer to Action Fraud.
If you are affected please search 'woodpecker interiors victims' private group on Facebook.
Update 03/01/21: all people names above have ceased communication with me. Thankfully PayPal have refunded the cost after we raised a dispute however I am persuing other avenues to avoid others less fortunate falling victim to these people.
Nice product, but slow and poor communication
This business re-incorporated in April 2020. The website is good with lots to choose from. However, orders are slow and communication with the company is difficult\impossible. The "in stock" mirror I ordered eventually arrived after a month of waiting. In fairness, I'm very happy with the mirror, so would give an overall rating of 3 stars.
As a legitimate online furniture dealer…
As a legitimate online furniture dealer I am glad in one way to see that these people are finished but sorry to see that so many people have lost their money. They have caused untold trouble discounting to a ridiculous level and undermining honest companies like us. A piece of advice to customers, do not trust reviews when they are not verified by Trustpilot as they are generally made up and Trustpilot do nothing to address this violation. Hope you get your money back
FYI Paul Smith is Matthew Fuller
FYI Paul Smith is Matthew Fuller, Fullers partner is Inguna Ozalina & they spend most of their time around Marbella with their young son.
I will provide updates when I have their address & contact details
Buyer Beware !
I ordered 2 oak furniture items ( approx. £585 value based upon standard online ordering via giving bank card details) in late July and noted the promise of delivery within 10-14 days. Since our diary was/is very cluttered I contacted this company when I'd received no delivery date after 13 days. No reply.
2 days later I ( very fortunately-thank you, TrustPilot) found reviews which said that this company a) had gone into liquidation b) was trading under another name -CENTURION c) might well still be taking payments, i.e. fraudulently.
So.…..
- I checked my bank statement and the money has NOT YET been taken
- I have emailed Woodpecker to implicitly cancel my order …..
- …….and told them that there will be legal follow up should they now attempt to do so
- In that email I did ask them to acknowledge receipt of my cancelling the order but no such reply has been received
- I have notified my bank and its Fraud Department
I will obviously be furious if they now attempt to take my payment. And will update TrustPilot.
WoodPecker Heads
Complete charlatans! Ordered wall art from woodpecker on 8 July, money taken by missfits. No delivery, no picture, no answer on phone, ended up setting credit card provider on them. Now just discovering woodpecker in liquidation but still taking orders. Screw them. Total scumbags. Hope karma works and they get come uppance!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE
Woodpecker Interiors does not exist it went into liquidation and trades as CENTURION FURNISHINGS & INTERIORS LIMITED - the owners Paul FULLER and his spouse Inguna OZOLINA who currently enjoy the sun whilst living in Marbella (Spain) easy enough to find with some light research. Enjoying customers hard earned money, but will never respond to emails or pick up any of the 3 phone numbers on the site. C/O D P C, Stone House, 55 Stone Road Business Park, Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England, ST4 is the registered address of this company, I have spoken with them to try and contact someone from centurion, and who said they would pass my details onto their client, I doubt they have either. I would strongly advise if you are or had the same experience then contact citizens advice who will work with trading standards to ensure this is dealt with by the authorities, hopefully we can recover our money
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - they have ceased trading
Firstly. The company is now in administration, or rather the company trading as Woodpecker interiors is.
Like most of the poor reviews here I ordered a clock from them which took twice as long to arrive as claimed. It didn’t match the description on the website (in my view - although there was nothing wrong with the actual item) so I agreed with them to return it and a fee of £35 to collect the clock was agreed (to be deducted from the refund) They told me BStar logistics would collect it. Despite chasing weekly the collection never happened, and a month later I still have the clock.
Out of the blue I received a one line email from Centurion Furnishings saying the company was no longer trading and couldn’t provide further assistance.
Their website is still working so presumably they are still taking customers money for goods that will never be delivered. It was a drop ship business it seems - they take your money, order from China and then arrange delivery when it comes in. The in stock reference appears to be that it’s in stock with their supplier not that they have it in their warehouse. I would expect it will pop up again under a different company name in the future.
Mirror arrived damaged
Mirror arrived damaged, agreed to a small refund £30 instead of collecting the mirror, and since no reply or sign of the refund.
Mirror of poor quality and bad customer service... going under administration.... that's surprising...
AVOID AVOID AVOID
AVOID AVOID AVOID - THIS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!!
Ordered a mirror a couple of weeks ago. Sent several emails to chase up, including to some guy called "Paul". No response from them, Phonelines are down. I have reported them to Trading Standards.
Just do not waste your money. They have probably gone into administration.
ACTION FRAUD
I Ordered a mirror in April 2019 and finally received it in July after numerous emails. Unfortunately, on inspection the item was found to be damaged. The B star logistics couriers promptly took photos and repackaged it . I was told then that I should receive a full refund shortly. However, this has not happened. I have contacted CAB who have referred my case to Trading Standards who I am yet to hear from. In the meantime I have contacted Companies House to inquire if it is a limited company and if it has indeed gone into liquidation or administration. They informed me that don't have a record of this company however, they could be trading under a different name. On my invoice have Centurion Furnishings and Interiors LTD. I just wondered if anyone else has this. In addition I spoke to my bank who have asked my to find out with whom or what I was trading with exactly. I was also told to contact Action Fraud which is my next step. Bottom line, do not do business with this company! I will pursue this matter until they are brought to justice!
They are going into administration but…
They are going into administration but still have their website live. DO NOT USE THEM
So BAD
So BAD! DON"T ORDER!
I ordered a mirror - it didn't arrive, no one answers the phone or emails.
I had HSBC altert me to this being a fraud company, I emailed to check I had a response from Paul
I say....
Just checking you are a legit company?! As my bank has flagged up you as a possible fraud? Maybe because you trade under MISSFITS?
Paul says...
Thank you and yes we are indeed 😊 been trading for over 15 years and still going strong.
Please let me know when to re-try the payment or if you prefer I can send you a PayPal request in the company name.
Still no mirror and no one answering the phone!
Dishonest company full of lies
Company : Woodpecker Interiors & Centurion Furnishings
Matthew Fuller - MD, Paul Smith - GM
Company Cease Trading yet these are those Guy's after years of selling expertise from the High Street retail and then the shift to online selling comes to this, still taking people's hard earned monies, effects are fell thru social website's and trading community. God Dam then both !!!
WARNING ⚠️WARNING ⚠️
Do not order from this company!
They don’t even deserve 1 star.
They have continued to trade, take payments immediately despite the fact they have gone into administration.
I ordered a mirror on the 30th April and have continually been told the shipment was delayed. I was then told they had my order and it was waiting to be delivered. I have received nothing.
Furthermore the company refuses to answer calls, emails, Facebook or Instagram messages.
It’s shocking they are able to continue to trade and take customers money.
I have now had to claim for a refund.
Warning! Warning!
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY - GOT MY MONEY AND NOW GONE INTO ADMINISTRATION!
STILL READING MY FACEBOOK MESSAGES THOUGH BUT CANT REPLY!!!
Company in administration -- DO NOT ORDER !!!
After waiting almost 4 weeks for some furniture i have now been told on day of delivery that the company has gone in to administration and that i will need to claim the money back.. couriers have said i am not alone and that they are currently staring at the furniture i have paid for but suppliers will not release... Absolutely ZERO info given by woodpecker
It seems that i am not alone in having…
It seems that i am not alone in having to wait longer than the 10-14 days quoted. I was told that there would be a cancellation fee if this was cancelled as it was already dispatched. No mention of any cancellation fees in writing. I am still waiting on confirmation of the dispatch from an email sent a week ago. Order is being cancelled from my point and i will avoid this retailer in the future!
We placed an order with woodpecker…
We placed an order with woodpecker interiors on 2/7/19 and we were told on the invoice that we would receive our order within 10-14 working days. I hadn’t heard anything after 10 days about organising a day and time for delivery so I contacted woodpecker to get an update on my order. I was told that it had been processed and they were still waiting on the item being dispatched to them from their supplier. I then called back one week later to be told that they still hadn’t received the order from their supplier. I was told that my order was the ‘worst situation’ as the supplier is dispatching from Glasgow (30 minutes from my house) to their store which is in stoke on trent. Then the courier (which apparently also travels from Glasgow) has to drive down to England to collect the order then bring it back to Scotland. I questioned this as it seems completely ridiculous and makes no sense to me. For one it’s crazy to me that an order that is from a supplier half an hour away from my house has to go from Scotland to England then back again but two completely un-environmentally friendly. 4 weeks on from placing our order we have no idea where it is or if we will even get it. Very disappointed at the service which has been provided. I have been trying to call the store over the last couple of days numerous times and no one is answering, I have tried to make contact via Facebook , email and Instagram and have again had no reply. It’s looking very doubtful we will receive our item and feels like we have been conned.
