This Bank treats their customers like garbage. Besides the staff being super ghetto in the Rochester location on chili Ave..
Once my debit card quit working and they tried to make me pay $15 for a new one. I kept refusing and telling them it's not my problem. It's their problem and my card magically began working right there at the checkout!
Fast forward, I lost my debit card. I live nowhere near a branch anymore. The third world rep kept telling me to come into the bank. Unable to comprehend that. I live 6 hours. Finally agreed to send me one in the mail and told me it would take 2 weeks. It never showed up. That was about 6 months ago. I just never bothered getting another card because I'm tired of wasting my time. They don't use zelle. They took 6 days to transfer funds from my bank account to my PayPal account They force you to use their own in-house system for sending cash which takes 1 to 3 days to clear. Just now they canceled a payment which I have made to the same person repeatedly from the same account with the same account details. Locked me out of my account and told me to call a number where they're closed. They're not open on the weekends so I hope you don't need anything, ever and you just won't access your money. Then the third world reps will be clueless and uninterested and what you can expect is the worst possible result. If you get your head around the fact that the customer service is absolutely awful like the worst. Actually! You can deal with the phone call. Be prepared to have your time wasted and get transferred around for simple answers. It's like talking to bad human chatbots. I hardly ever use this account anymore because of how terrible the hank treats its customers. They should just keep it real and have a slogan that says at Woodforest Bank, we hate our customers and it shows! Come let us lock up your funds and make them unavailable for days to weeks while we lend it out to other people with bad credit and maybe when you need it next week we'll have it. Or maybe not.
UPDATE: Woodforest customer service has improved greatly. The last few encounters I have had with customer service reps, who by the way are American, have been polite and professional. They even made it a point to call me by my last name which is much appreciated. I'm upping Woodforest to three stars because they greatly improved their customer service

I opened a new account online and never received the debit card. I went to a physical location only to be told the only way to fix it is to pay for another debit card with them. I try to call for an overdraft issue only to have them hang up on me in the middle of the call. They have removed the services that have made them worth opening the account in the first place and every time I need help, I get poor customer service. I was even told by one location when I went to deposit money that the Walmart money center can do deposits for me and sent me that way. They were open and standing out front. Why couldn't you deposit my money into my account with you? Why did I have to go to a 3rd party? Everything that was such a bonus with them when I opened with them years ago are not even offered anymore.

Got kicked out of a bank for nothing. Did nothing. My damn did it all. Along with his damn friends. Yes I did nothing but asked questions. Don't even sign up. Poor excuse if a bank.

This bank discriminates against the elderly. If you're hard of hearing, this bank does not allow someone a "third party" to help you hear and convey so that you can access your account. The elderly, who started this bank off years ago, no longer have any customer support or access without hi tech skills and are uneccesarily falling through the hi tec/red tape cracks. A pittiful bank

This is one of the worst banks I have ever work with. Constant layoffs of their employees, No security--your account is constantly at risk. They advertise products that they don't have. You won't be treated well. The entire Team are so ROBOTIC in everything they do and you better not trust them with your hard earned money, they are not trained adequately or equipped properly to get things done right. I’m extremely disheartened by my most recent experience with them.

My husband and I stayed at the Extended Stay America we paid weekly at the desk, the last date we paid we advised we would be checking out 03/12/24. My husband and I had leased a home and we left early 03/10/24 and moved into the new home we were billed 691.86 03/16/24 even though we were no longer staying at the property, they have cameras onsite and could verify our car was not there, we did not sign the receipt nor did we give permission to use our card nothing. As soon as I saw the charge I disputed it with Extended Stay our bank Woodforest everything, I brought the receipt where we checked out and shows our last date as 03/12/24 they cancelled our debit cards and I filed a complaint with the BBB after going thru all that Woodforest did not even bother to call and ask our side of the story and did not refund us the money. What a rip off!!!!!!

I have been a customer since 1981! I am sooo disappointed. I have been trying to stop a payment for a car payment since January. They can't do it!!! They just keep sending the payment... they say they are stopping...charge me a stop payment fee...and the next month send the payment again...This has been going on for 4 months.... I am done with them... after 43 years!!!! Very sad......

I'm a new customer, and just made my 2nd visit to the HEB Madera Run branch, in Houston. Took 2 tellers an hour to accept a routine deposit. The deposit was less than $10,000, with just over $3000 in checks. I was the only customer in the branch, the whole hour. I was told that they needed a "manager approval" to deposit the checks. I stood there, while they made at least a half dozen calls, trying get a code, to enable them to process the deposit. Looks like opening this account has been one big waste of valuable time.

The bank in kannapolis N.C. and their corporate office, for lack of a better word, sucks. Yall need to train your employees better. We have been dealing with issues for the last 3 weeks and everyone gives us a different story and time frame. Then when you confront them on it they say it's corporate. You call corporate they say it's our policy. Without going into our personal business I have dealt with a few banks in my time and I have never been toyed with or been made to feel 2nd class with any of them. I am extremely dissatisfied with this bank. We are changing banks and will never return nor will I ever refer you guys. Stick with real banks who don't have a place in a Walmart supercenter, because like in the videos people of Walmart yall are trash. Not even part of BBB. And again train your employees so yall are all on the same page especially the one in Kannapolis N.C.

This bank in Marshall, Texas is extremely convenient and helpful. I know all of the tellers, and I have never been helped and cared about by so many people. Their service and dedication to finding creative ways to solve your problems is phenomenal.

Went to WalMart in Lexington, KY (New Circle) to use the CoinStar to cash in some change, which was out of order. I don't have an account with Woodforest, but asked the teller, Ernesto, if he would mind cashing in the change for me. He was very willing to help, despite my not having an account and the fact that it was time-consuming to roll some pennies. Thank you Ernesto, for going above and beyond!

Woodforest is the best bank that I have ever dealt with! Customer support is always very supportive and they know what they're doing. When there are funds that are to go back into my account I'll only have to wait like one day. I have been with this thing for over 10 years and I will never leave them.
