Truly a terrible bank

Truly a terrible bank. I don’t mind the subscription that I pay every month but the least I expect is being able to reach a customer service agent. I contact them from my verified phone number they still ask me to contact them from a verified phone number… I try to call them either locally or from aboard from my number or any number and their hotline keeps dropping… poor service is an understatement…

Terrible bank

Terrible bank. Even after 4 months they didn’t my open account. Always had onboarding questions and once they asked everything they could, they start repeating the same questions. I called them almost 2 months ago to cancel application and send an email, and they told they will cancel asap. After 2 months, I’m receiving their email that “ Unfortunately, we can’t open your Wio Business account at this time because of Wio Bank's internal policies.” This bank is a joke.

Absolutely the best at being the worst.

Absolutely the best at being the worst.
Our recent experience with our business account was a masterclass in how not to run a bank. Delays, endless excuses, impressive levels of incompetence, customer care moving at glacial speed, and a backend team that must be allergic to productivity.
Let’s not forget the technical issues (because who needs a working OTP, right?). Our account has been blocked for over a week now—apparently it takes multiple 'business days' just to decide if we’re allowed access to our own money. All of this, of course, through no fault of the client.
Truly mind-blowing stuff.

Terrible service

Terrible service. I was scammed of 300AED through Virgin app so I asked my bank to block and dispute the amount. Virgin blocked my account until I withdrew the dispute. Even after I withdrew the dispute they said I need proof from my bank but WIO wasnt able to provide. Its a big hassle and my account is still blocked for a week!

Complaint Regarding Unauthorized Transactions and Request for Refund

Dear Wio Customer Support,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding two unauthorized transactions from my online account.
On 16th March 2025, two unauthorized transactions were made from my account:

1199.99 AED was debited from my account.

After receiving a notification from the bank, I immediately contacted your customer service to freeze my account and cancel my ATM card. I also filed a police complaint regarding this issue.

Following this, there was still a balance of over 800 AED remaining in my account. However, I was shocked to receive a notification today indicating that 1224.08 AED had been debited from my account. The troubling part of this transaction is that I had not received any notification on my registered SIM, nor was there any alert about this transaction being processed at the time it occurred. When reviewing the transaction history, I noticed that this second transaction occurred immediately after the first unauthorized transaction of 1199.99 AED.
I am particularly concerned that after the initial transaction, which left a balance of around 800 AED, the second transaction for 1224.08 AED should have been automatically rejected due to insufficient funds, but it was processed anyway.
I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter. Please provide me with a clear explanation for the unauthorized transactions and the failure to prevent the second one.

Not taking responsibility for fraudulent transactions, your money is not protected

My Wio card was cloned at an ATM in Indonesia while I was on vacation, and then my bank account was literally drained from the other side of the world (I woke up one day to several transactions from an ATM in Venezuela!!!). Wio Bank takes no responsibility, they won't refund my money or even respond to my daily communications since then. The only thing they told me was that it was my fault... I've never had such a terrible experience while my money was in other banks. I wish I had read other customers' experiences on this page before deciding to open my accounts (personal and business) with this bank. I've already decided to close my accounts and open them with another bank. Avoid at all costs. They don't care about their clients and your money will not be protected.

Very dangerous with incompetent staff

I don’t like doing this, but Wio has left me no choice.
I am absolutely disappointed with how this bank protects its customers.

I was the victim of a scam where a company I had purchased a service from shut down permanently shortly after I made the payment, without delivering the service I had paid for.

I immediately contacted Wio to cancel the payment and open a dispute to recover my money. Wio confirmed that I had 60 days to open a dispute, and I requested to open the dispute just two weeks after making the payment—well within the timeframe.

Wio requested several documents and pieces of evidence, which I provided.
Then, they asked for an additional document that made no sense. I explained that the company had not provided it, but in any case, I had already submitted all the necessary proof of the situation: proof of payment, correspondence with the company, proof that the company shut down very shortly after my payment, and confirmation from the company itself that the service I paid for could not be fulfilled.

As I was very busy, I contacted Wio a few weeks later to check on the dispute status and find out when I would be refunded. Big surprise! Wio told me that the 60-day period had expired and that they had not submitted my case because they were still waiting for the nonsensical document from the service provider.

Yet, Wio already had all the necessary evidence to open the dispute. They neglected my case, failed to submit it, and as a result, I can no longer open a dispute or get my money back.

I spoke with more than six different representatives via WhatsApp, hoping for a solution. I even spoke with a Wio manager and have all the proof.
They told me they would look into what could be done because, in my view, this was clearly their mistake.
The manager in question named ‘Vidhy’ opened a ticket on November 28, 2024, with a written promise that it would be resolved within a maximum of 30 business days.

Today is March 6, 2025, and I still have no updates from them. Despite repeatedly contacting them on WhatsApp to remind them that the deadline has passed and that I am still waiting for a resolution, they keep making me run in circles by saying that my case is “under investigation”—always the same automatic response.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this bank, which failed to protect my interests and has proven to be completely unprofessional.
I strongly advise against opening a bank account with them.
Incompetent staff, broken promises, and a severe lack of professionalism.

WIO is Holding My Money Without…

WIO is Holding My Money Without Explanation!
I am extremely disappointed with WIO Bank. On February 4, 2025, I sent a transfer of £95.55 GBP to my WIO account via WISE. The funds were debited, but after almost a month, the bank has still not credited them to my account!

I have contacted support multiple times (Case ID: 3837300), but instead of providing a real solution, they keep giving me the same generic response: “the team is working on it.” The promised 7-day review period has long passed, yet I have received no concrete information regarding the status of my transfer.

If this issue is not resolved soon, I will file an official complaint with the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) and take legal action through DIFC Courts. I will also share this experience on all available platforms to warn other users.

🚨 Be careful! If your transfer gets “lost,” WIO may ignore you for weeks, holding your money without any explanation.

A Frustrating Experience

I have had an incredibly disappointing experience with Wio Bank. From poor customer service to inefficient processes, dealing with this bank has been nothing short of frustrating.

The main issue is the lack of clear communication and support. Whether it’s account-related inquiries or transaction issues, getting a straightforward answer seems impossible. The response times are slow, and when you do get a reply, it often lacks any real solution.

Additionally, the banking system itself feels unreliable. Transactions get delayed, and resolving even the simplest issues requires endless back-and-forth with customer support. Instead of making banking easier, Wio Bank seems to complicate it at every turn.

If you’re looking for a seamless and hassle-free banking experience, this is not the place to find it. I would not recommend Wio Bank to anyone who values efficiency and customer support.

Would love to hear if anyone else has faced similar issues.

Froze my money. And they won't give it to me till after 6 months.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! Complete disgrace.
