Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 594 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the products to be of extremely poor quality, often made from cheap, synthetic materials that did not resemble the advertised images. Reviewers frequently mentioned that items were badly made, incorrectly sized, and looked nothing like the photos on the website. The return policy and refund process were a significant source of frustration, with many discovering that returns had to be sent to an overseas location, incurring high costs. Customers reported being offered small partial refunds or vouchers instead of full refunds, which made the return process challenging. Some people also felt that the website's presentation suggested a UK-based company, while products were shipped from China.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

AVOID THIS COMPANY. Products delivered bear no resemblance to advertisements. Materials used are shiny nylons, rather than cotton/linen. They’re pretending to be London based (emails from ‘Olivia’), but they’re probably Chinese. Reported to Trading Standards.

Fight for a bank chargeback

These scammers sent cheap stretchy nylon rags made in Chinese sweatshops. Not what they advertised on their web page. Not a London store, but masquerading as a London store. They are from China. Be warned they will charge you between 30 and 50% of the item’s price to return the items to China. They will not accept responsibility for mis-selling! I have successfully got my bank to do a chargeback because it was a debit payment. Be warned, your credit card will not cover your claim for costs that are less than £100. Just be very wary of companies using fake photographs to sell their inferior products!

Avoid Avoid Avoid!

The quality of these products it beyone dreadful. They look beautiful on the website but are cheap and nasty. The sizing is also way out. I requested a return and refund and guess what they said I could keep them in return for a voucher or I could ship them back, but would have to pay import duties of up to 50% of the cost! They are portraying themselves as a UK company so why do I have to ship returns abroad. My recommendation is go to your credit card company show that you have tried to work with this bunch without joy and apply for a refund that way. This company is an absolute disgrace. I feel like I have been scammed, and we should all stand up to them!

Do not buy from Wilson and Carter…

Do not buy from Wilson and Carter London, stay away. I have chased them about delivery and where the goods are being shipped (likely to be shipped from China) and they refuse to answer. I told them I need the goods delivered ASAP and if they cannot deliver within timeframe to cancel my order. The refuse to cancel my order and keep saying it's in process so just wasting time.

Will I never learn

Will I never learn! Check reviews BEFORE buying online from a company that you don't know.
Never again. How are overseas companies able to get away with blatant fraud in the UK?
The website pretends to be a UK company so when I did a search for UK based organisations - this came up. Flagrant abuse of our laws which usually protect innocent people from thieves.
Keep away from any online organisation that does not have a UK address. Chances are their products are not worth the postage.

1 star is a star too much in my opinion

I purchased a pair of shoes from W&C very much under the impression they were a UK based company/store from the impression that their website gave. The first red flag was the transit time of the item, it was shipped almost immediately yet took approx 10 days to be delivered, indicating it was coming from overseas. When the shoes arrived they were nothing like the ones I had purchased, in fact they were hideous and very cheaply made, which I did not expect given the original price was £100+ and reduced to £50. I contacted them immediately to arrange a return/refund. Emily responded quickly but only with the option of a very small partial refund or a discount code for a future purchase and to keep the item. I responded advising I had no interest in keeping the shoes and wanted a full refund as per their 30 day return policy which is on their website. A further email offered me a 30% refund to keep the item and only then did they disclose if I did return the item it would cost me approx $50 in shipping fees. Their website is VERY misleading, there was nothing eluding to items being cheaply sourced and shipped from overseas or that the returns would be so costly to the purchaser. I have bought from such companies before but this information was disclosed before hand so I was aware that if I was not satisfied it would be at my own financial risk. In the end they left me with no option but to contact my credit card company and raise a dispute to which I received a full refund.

Don’t buy ….. you’re wasting your money . READ THE REVIEWS …

Delay in delivery so item was no good so asked to return dress
Got offered 10% refund then 20%….30% then finally 40% and keep the unwanted dress
If I return it at a cost of 50$ postage to china (thought the shop was in London) I would have to produce all relevant paperwork ,it would be thoroughly examined and if ok I would get a refund ….. this apparently can take several weeks , they are nothing better than a con company. I wish I’d of read the reviews

Warning - they don’t stand by a fair return policy

I am disappointed by my experience with Wilson & Carter and would encourage anyone considering buying from them to read the returns policy very carefully before placing an order.

I purchased clothing from the company believing that, if the items did not fit, I would be able to return them in accordance with their advertised returns policy.

When the clothes arrived, they did not fit. I contacted the company promptly to request a return and refund.

Over the following weeks I was asked to provide photographs of the items and the size labels, which I did. Rather than being given straightforward return instructions, I was repeatedly encouraged to accept alternatives, including a partial refund if I kept the goods.

I was eventually provided with a return address in China and advised that return postage would cost approximately USD $30–50 per item, meaning the cost of returning the goods would have been substantial in relation to their value.

I ultimately accepted a 40% refund because I did not feel it was economically sensible to pay significant international postage while still carrying the risk that a full refund might not ultimately be received.

This review reflects my personal experience. My advice to prospective customers is to understand exactly where returns are sent, who pays for international postage, and what the likely costs will be before purchasing.

The quality of these items are shocking

The quality of these items are shockingly bad. They took ages to arrive and obviously come from china, so don’t let the London name fool you. They say no quibble returns but there’s no return address and you have to email them where they employ delaying tactics then just ignore your reply’s. Dont buy.

If I could give a zero star...i would

If I could give a zero star...i would. Contacted company to return/refund 2 dresses
Both were huge and looked nothing like those advertised.

Impossible to obtain a return address or RMA number.
Just keep receiving the same email asking for another dress size and monies to pay for postage. The 30 day return policy obviously isn't genuine.

Do not but from this company. It's a scam
They are not London based deliveries arrive from overseas.

Companies shouldn’t be allowed to…

Companies shouldn’t be allowed to portray themselves in the way this company does. Which is totally the opposite to how it performs. Taken far too long to receive order that I thought was coming from a UK location. Yet again it’s coming from China. I feel like a right idiot being fooled like this. Steer clear and I guess when this junk I was lead to believe was good quality arrives I’ll be further inconvenienced when requesting a full refund. Their website is so misleading

Absolute rip off company

Absolute rip off company. Ordered a shirt, western style, denim. What came was nothing like what I wanted, shiny cheap material for Asia. Tried to get my money back but was offered 10% of cost and 20% off any other order. Like I will buy any more of their cheap tat. Held out and got 20% back but I would suggest you give this company a wide berth
