Easy to sign up and deal with.
Dropped off whisky bottles as local to me.
Waited for auction to end and the proceeds were transferred within the week.
I would use again if I had any un-opened whisky bottles to sell!

Buyer Beware 5cl miniatures start at £20

I ended up buying a 5cl bottle of whiskey at a cost of £37 with postage delivery etc. Yes I’m a silly old fool but there was the same 70cl bottle for sale with free miniature bottle so I didn’t check the detail when bidding assuming that a respectable auction would not list something at such a high price (£20 min bids) I contact the customer care who less than helpful supported the seller and not the buyer with the usual my fault etc.
and re the response, evidence that they value miniatures (or any lot) at £20, surely placing items on an auction at a starting bid way in excess of their value is in my opinion unethical.

Reply from Whisky Hammer - Malt Whisky Auctions

Hi Ken,

Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, although I am disappointed it is one star.

As an auction platform we list a range of different bottles of varying sizes and types on behalf of our sellers. We do our utmost to ensure items are listed accurately and transparently. The lot images will always be of the actual item you will receive and titles and descriptions will also reflect what you are bidding on. Our starting price for any lot in the auction is £20.

I appreciate that not reviewing the lot before placing your bid has resulted in a frustrating outcome for you but I am afraid we cannot be held responsible for this. When placing your bid you will have been prompted to review the lot before confirming and beyond this, it is up to you as a buyer to ensure you are satisfied with the lot before finalising your bid. Once finalised, you have committed to buy it from the seller concerned in the same way as raising your paddle in a physical auction.

The team did an excellent job assisting me in preparing my whisky for auction, resulting in a satisfying sale price. They offered convenient and complimentary pickup for six bottles, and collaboratively planned an effective approach to maximize profits. The commission rates were fair, adding to a great overall experience. Well done, everyone!
