Oven only 4.5 yrs old and just melted the LED control panel from a short or something. Customer service is like whelp I guess you can pay to have it evaluated and then pay to fix it. $1500 oven! I’m really just thinking of scrapping it and getting anything but another whirlpool appliance EVER AGAIN!
We purchased a brand-new home two years…
We purchased a brand-new home two years ago that came fully equipped with Whirlpool appliances. Initially, everything seemed fine, but our experience since then has been frustrating and disappointing.
A few months ago, our dryer had a major issue shortly after the one-year warranty expired. To Whirlpool’s credit, they did step in and repair it at no charge as a goodwill gesture, which we appreciated.
However, just a few months later, the washer developed a serious problem. This time, despite multiple calls and escalating the issue as far as possible, Whirlpool refused to provide any assistance. We ended up paying $397 out of pocket for a repair.
What’s even more concerning is that the handyman who fixed the washer told us this is a known product defect. If that’s the case, it’s very disappointing that Whirlpool would not stand behind their product the way they did with the dryer.
Based on our experience, the quality and reliability of these appliances are questionable, and the inconsistency in customer support makes it hard to recommend Whirlpool. While we appreciated the initial goodwill repair, the lack of support for a known issue with the washer leaves us very dissatisfied.

I bought a high-end Maytag washer and dryer set and the electronics on the dryer burnt out after two years. The so-called 10-Year parts warranty only applies to 2 parts on the whole machine, none of the electronics are covered. Needless to say, I now have an expensive worthless dryer sitting in my basement. Model #MGD5630HW 3
Whirlpool Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
I purchased a refrigerator that was delivered on October 31, 2025. I’ve had an issue with the door flap not closing properly since I received the appliance. I have had authorized whirlpool technicians to my house five times since the beginning of December. I have to leave work for every appointment. Each appointment is scheduled 7-10 days out. The issue is still not fixed. Now I have to have a technician come out for a sixth time to add washers to the bottom of the door to rig it in an attempt to repair the issue. There is already one washer on the door. I guess we’ll add a few more to see if that works. I called “escalated” customer service. While today was the fifth visit (2nd repair company). There were only 2 visits logged in the system prior to today. And then I was told an order to even apply for a replacement appliance, I have to have the same issue happen 3 times within a 30 day span. Even if the issue did happen three times within a 30 day span I couldn’t get three appointments scheduled that close together. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.
Terrible customer service
Long wait/hold times, multiple disconnects, transfers to “someone who can help” all to get a part that is under warranty - according to the sticker on the machine - for another 5 years. They want almost $400 to have their person install a $120 part. So I’m paying for the part anyway. Terrible terrible customer service
Washing machine purchased 9/2024
Washing machine purchased 9/2024. 11/2025 it would not drain entirely and digital screen flashing sense and done. Unable to start a cycle or get machine to do anything. Service repair replaced pump/drain and digital screen. Repair man said seeing this often in this brand/product. To repair would cost aa much as a new washing machine. Today same thing happened and only option was to purchase a 1 time repair for $363.80 or $32.99 a month for 1 year.
This product is 1.5 years old. Apparantly they are disposable products now. We will be buying a new washing machine, but not whirlpool.
Terrible Service/ Product
Bought a new refrigerator in July of 2025. It was damaged from the factory as the protective sheeting was intact still. Accepted the delivery thinking Whirlpool would send a new door soon.
Finally, in January, got the new door!
Flamingo appliance came and opened the package only to find the new door damaged as well!
During many calls to Whirlpool, customer service was in the " don't give a s**t" mood, saying it takes 18 weeks for a new one. Obviously, no quality checks done. Back to waiting for another 18 weeks. In the meantime, ice maker has stopped working, so will be seeing how long this repair takes.
This company has outdone themselves in shoddy products in their haste to build quick, problematic or needing replacement products. I see no response from them to these reviews which enforces my thoughts of " don't give a d**n".
Not going to waste my money and time going forward.
Whirlpool is a HORRIBLE company!!
Whirlpool is a HORRIBLE company!!! Do NOT purchase anything from them!! We bought a Maytag washer in September 2025. (Whirlpool bought out Maytag). They have been out for repairs 4 times since January!! Today was the 4th time, they still have NO IDEA what is wrong. They want to keep throwing parts at it and guessing at what's wrong. Meanwhile wasting my time being off work to wait for 4 hour windows for repairs. Now they want to send someone out for a 5th time to change more parts, instead of calling a lemon....A LEMON!!!! Exchange this junk for something that works properly!!!!!!! Stop wasting my time!!! You didn't waste any time taking my money when I purchased this JUNK!!!!!
Purchased a Maytag 2 months ago and it…
Purchased a Maytag 2 months ago and it worked maybe 5 times. It had an error code F2E2 and was suggested while waiting for repairs that may help us was to unplug the plug for 5 minutes and then plug back in. Well it worked a few times and the totally stopped. An appointment was set and the technicians truck broke down. He called and said he forgot his wrench and went back for it and his truck broke down. Next I was sent a text from Flamingo Appliance saying they know because of their”expertise” they know the part we need even without looking at it first what part to order. Ho Ho !! Tech came a week later and of course you all know that it’s the wrong part. What a surprise - so much for their expertise. Now supposedly the correct part is on order, but who knows, with these…….. people, if it will ever get fixed. I went to Flamingo Appliance hoping I could talk to someone but the area of their warehouse was so bad, dark and dirty I wouldn’t get out of my car. The sign on the front door said go around back and that was worse.
I so wished I never bought the Maytag dryer. I hope this post helps someone to not purchase Maytag or any other Whirlpool product.
WHIRLPOOL IS NOW MADE IN CHINA!!!…
Recently purchased a Whirlpool 31 cu.ft. French Door Refrigerator/Freezer. Seems OK so far; EXCEPT A CARTON OF EGGS WON'T SIT FLAT IN DOOR SHELFS!!! WHY!?! IS "MADE IN CHINA!!!" MAYBE THIS EXPLAINS THIS!!!/DOES CHINA EVEN HAVE EGGS IN CARTONS!?!
Defective product and poor customer handling
I purchased a Whirlpool oven model W7 OM5 4S H which has proven to be defective over time.
The product started showing cooking issues (the lower part does not cook properly), requiring a technical intervention already in February 2025. However, the issue was not resolved.
Subsequently, further problems appeared, including condensation and water leakage, making the appliance effectively unusable under normal conditions.
I formally reported the issue via PEC, providing documentation and a detailed description of the defects. However, no proper response has ever been given regarding the actual problem. The only solutions proposed were paid repair (around €189) or purchasing a new product at a discounted price.
It is unacceptable that, in the presence of a defective product with persistent issues, the customer is asked to bear additional costs to fix a situation not caused by their own actions.
To date, the case remains unresolved and no adequate solution has been provided.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend purchasing Whirlpool products (now part of the Beko group), at least until there is clear improvement in product quality and customer support.
I have 3 whirlpool appliances that are…
I have 3 whirlpool appliances that are under three years old. The washing machine electronic mixing valve failed 2 months ago and I purchased and installed an open replacement at a cost of over $200 parts and labor. Today my over the range microwave door completely self destructed. Both of these seem to be common failures when researched online. Will never buy another whirlpool, Maytag, or any other product affiliated with the company. Garbage just waiting for its’ day in the landfill.
You get what you pay for
We had used a Whirlpool microwave oven for almost 25 years without problem, so when it died, the low-cost MWF800 seemed like an obvious choice as replacement. The good news: it does turn on. The bad news: the only setting we can use is "defrost", which moves from actual defrost to total incineration within a minute or two. Higher settings (450W+) are actually scary in how fast and how hot they make everything. Sorry but the next unit will be from some other company.
I’m only giving Whirlpool Corp a -0- star
I’m only giving Whirlpool Corp a 1 Star because website won’t allow me to give them -0- stars. Whirlpool Corp (owns Maytag & ?now) gives out false info & only allowed me to request my Maytag repair service on their website does not work & even though I requested all my multiple times requests be recorded & emailed to me , no requests got thru & I never got a email address from them to communicate since their website did not take my repair requests & I waited on phone for 35-59 minutes to get live person each time I called to find out they only have repair service on Oahu (another island & may fly over every month if they get enough requests) & customer service was not interested in my request to ask corporate to hire repair service people on Kauai. Each Whirlpool customer service person only interested in trying to get me to buy the “extended repair service @ $7+ /month (double price I had already bought it but cancelled my extended repair service after I found out they don’t care if I get my washer lid opened or not so I can get my wet bed linen & clothes out of their faulty machine that was 1 1/2 months old before the washer lid locked up my clothes & started a grinding sound that only goes away when machine unplugged. I do have text messages from some appliance tech or they themselves sent me messages that a repair guy on his way to fix my machine.. next day another text message for me to rate the ?persons washer repair job that appears to indicate he did for me & etc.. Like Whirlpool falsifying appliance repair jobs never done & having their customer service folks only interested in selling expensive extended warranty service plan to elderly people like me with a new appliance already under full warranty but unlikely to get repaired since Whirlpool refuses to sign local legitimate appliance repair service-folks like Garden Island Repair & the LG guy & anyone who has time & knowledge of their Maytag /Whirlpool appliances that don’t live 2-plane flights away from my location.

I bought a washer and dryer from a reputable place I have been shopping for 30 years. All of my appliances are from there and are whirlpool. Last week my washer had an issue so I called to get it serviced. This is the first time I have had any issues. My washer is 2 years old. The guy came out and it literally took about 2 min to fix. I had to pay 350.00 for 2 min. The guy told me it was a bad switch and it should have been covered. Of course I spoke with whirlpool and I was very disappointed. I will never buy whirlpool again. They tried to sell me a warranty for the waher and dryer. Absolutely not! I am going on Facebook with my review.
Unreliable junk
I paid $1400 for a glass top 4 years ago and it has already quit. I bought a whirlpool washer and dryer 2 years ago and they both quit. They are all junk.
My new Whirlpool washing machine washes fine, but the spin cycle is TERRIBLE. It hardly gets the water out of clothing; mats and large towels may be almost dripping when finished.
My new Whirlpool clothes washing machine washes fine, but the spin cycle is TERRIBLE. It hardly gets the water out of clothing; mats and large towels may be almost dripping when finished. I really miss my old Electrolux machine--I should have had it repaired and stayed with it. I should have looked at reviews but I had a wonderful Whirlpool microwave that lasted for over 15 years & other Whirlpool products I liked. I think that is why I am especially disappointed in this washer.
I will never buy any kind of whirlpool…
I will never buy any kind of whirlpool product ever again. They were absolute garbage less than a year of having it a faulty control board That’s a recall when putting in the model number and serial number but they will not stand behind a warranty without sending out a technician to run up a bill by time it said and done you’re better off going and buying another one I would highly recommend staying away from any kind of whirlpool products!
Avoid.
There should probably be an option for zero stars. Most expensive microwave we've ever purchased and even to say it had the shortest longevity of any microwave we've owned, would be a disservice to the word longevity itself. Microwave was hundreds of dollars and lasted less than two years. Customer service was wildly unhelpful, citing the extended warranty should have been purchased, only to find out the product doesn't have an extended warranty offered. Will never buy a whirlpool product again.
Whirlpool Rocks !!
I recently purchased a Kitchen Aid dishwasher made by Whirlpool that came damaged to my home, but I missed the window that Home Depot gives that is 48 hours to report it for exchange. I called Whirlpool and a repair was set up but even the appliance repair designated by Whirlpool said it should be replaced, but Whirlpool disagreed. I called the corporate office, and they replaced it with a new one and hauled off the damaged dishwasher. They even followed up with a call asking if all was to my satisfaction. I was beyond impressed. Excellent customer service!
