Shorty for the summer

I needed to grab a shorty for the summer and some booties. Wetsuit Outlet had the best selection and range that I could find and also really helpful advice on sizing.

The kit is brilliant and fits perfectly - delivery was super fast and the prize was a little cheaper than going directly to O'Neil.

Amazing service and a great experience. I will 100% come back to Wetsuit Outlet for my next full suit. Thank you!

Returns Are Prohibitively Expensive And Not At All “Hassle Free”.

I very reluctantly give such a poor rating to a company that I have used several times in the past and had every intention of continuing to use in the future. A company that has high quality products at a very competitive price. A company that has the most superb customer service that I’ve come across in a very long time - real human beings that know what they’re talking about and offer their expertise generously.

So why this seriously bad review?

Returns.

I’m assuming that everyone reading this understands how crucial the fit of a wetsuit is. If it’s not right, it’s not fit for purpose. Each brand has their own sizing. American, UK, smallish, biggish…. Then there’s the neoprene. Added fibres, thickness, seam construction…. So, “hassle free, 60 day returns” seems less like a nice thing to offer than an essential customer requirement. Unless we’re buying a repeat item from a brand whose sizing we’re already familiar with, we’re pretty much working in the dark.

Everything I’ve bought before has been fine size-wise,so I innocently ordered two neoprene leggings from a brand I’ve never had before, thinking that I’d see which fit the best and return the other. More fool me. Firstly, it turns out that returns in France are to Holland, i.e. an international shipment. Nowhere mentioned on the website. A cynic might find that rather disingenuous. At the French Post Office, the price I’m quoted for a tracked international parcel is half the cost of the item, so I go back home to find an alternative. Mondial will do it for under a tenner. Can’t say fairer than that. But they require a phone number and email address. I phone Wetsuit Outlet and am told that the returns address is just a warehouse with no such details. I have no issue whatsoever with the customer service agent who told me this - it’s not their fault. But really Wetsuit Outlet? “Hassle free returns”. The thankfully old phrase of “alternative truth” springs to mind. The Brexit nightmare? I fully understand as I suffer from it on a daily basis. But why not just tell your customers the truth before they place the order?

So here I am, ending up having paid double. €180 for four surfing legs when my body only has two. Could have just gone to Decathlon. Probably should have. Tried to support what I thought was a nice company. As I said before, more fool me.

I am sorry you feel returns information hasn't been clear enough, however I should point out that international returns has not changed since Brexit. Pre Brexit all returns came to our UK warehouse, which as you know has changed to our Netherlands facility post Brexit.

The reason for this is simply to avoid the addition of any import duty being applied to our European customer orders.

We've taken on board your points about the return process and cost, and are looking at ways to improve this moving forward.
