Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the product, reporting issues such as bottles being half full or concerns about product quantity. Customers also frequently encountered problems with the quality of the products, noting patchy color results, quick fading, and some products not working at all. Several users mentioned that the products damaged their hair, leaving it dry, tangled, or causing breakage. Some people were dissatisfied with the instructions, as following them precisely still led to undesirable outcomes like green or muddy brown hair, or no color change at all. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the drops were effective when instructions were followed carefully, and some appreciated the vibrant colors and the soft feeling of their hair after use.

I recommend avoiding this product.

Avoid this product. At first I was pleased and put the auburn colour on top of the bleached section of my hair to match my natural, but as it washed out it has turned my hair green. I’m yet to find anything to get rid of the horrible khaki/green it’s gone!

Bleach doesn’t work

I tested the Shrine bleach kit on my short natural dark blonde hair, followed the instructions to a T, and used the Ash blonde toner drops to follow but the hair colour remained the exact same. I then tried another section of hair and it seemed to change very subtly but after washing out I wouldn’t say noticeable at all after applying the toner drops again I can’t find the section of hair because it just doesn’t look any different. I’m really reluctant to try this bleach again with the fear of my hair going orange after watching YouTube reviews and researching on Google. I’m annoyed I wasted the money and should have bought professional bleach instead such as Wella Blondor which I’m going to try next. It would be good if you did a ‘no satisfaction, money back’ offer as trusting products to bleach your hair successfully is quite a big deal.

Shrine thinks copper=brown

The copper drops turn your hair muddy brown. Not vibrant at all and i got better results with gloss up. Really disappointed. Also, because you mix with conditioner, it makes your hair extremely greasy and you have to do the first wash immediately.

Did nothing to my hair

Did nothing to my hair. Used entire bottle after strand test with recommended drops did nothing. Total waste of money. A purple conditioner deposited more colour than this useless product. And yes my hair was bleached light enough.
This product DOESN'T WORK. It's no good saying 'results may vary depending on hair type etc'. Make it work, or don't bother, because it's too expensive to be wasting that on NO RESULT.

Update: Shrine want a photo of my hair BEFORE I used their product. I'll fire up the time machine....

Naturally blonde hair with bleached…

Naturally blonde hair with bleached ends, tried the copper. First time it went a lovely pinky coppery colour but not very bright so I thought maybe I didn’t use enough drops. Had to do it a second time immediately because it washed straight out and left my hair in a weird blueish colour.

Second time, more drops, much brighter but much more cherry copper than copper. And VERY PATCHY! Half of my hair was blonde/blue on the ends, the other was pinky red.

Washed it with a clarifying shampoo because every time I touch my scalp I get some build up on my fingers where it just sits on top of your hair like a mask.

My hair is now blue? Green? I’m not sure but it’s absolutely awful.

The copper is chaos really from start to finish.
Very disappointed after seeing some positive TikTok’s but maybe it’s all false advertising 😃

I bought this because I wanted to see…

I bought this because I wanted to see if I’d suit copper. I left it in for the 10 minutes, and within 10 minutes I came out in a bad allergic reaction feeling like I was swelling and unable to breathe properly. I went into hospital and am now on steroids . My hair didn’t even turn copper it’s just gone darker and feels like it’s all thinned out in bad condition.

The best dye I’ve ever used

If you use this on bleach blonde hair the results are AMAZING!!! Honestly the easiest hair dye I’ve ever used you literally just mix two or three droplets with some conditioner and cover the head, so it can also be used multiple times as you only need a couple of droplets. It doesn’t smell of chemicals either. I’m usually not very good at dying my own hair and it ends up looking patchy but this looks amazing like salon results and I didn’t even have to try. Definitely recommend ☺️

Not worth the money in my opinion

My hair is a natural dark strawberry blonde. Only I hate the ginger/orange/red tones in it.
When purchasing I noticed that on the picture of one of the models on there website it didn't seem to lift her hair colour at the roots.
So I thought I bet it does the same to me.
I cheated I dyed my hair with a semi permanent product first to lift the colour up.
The next day i used shrine.
I had no reaction on my skin and no reaction whilst applying the product. However when I had finished using it and washed it off my head started to feel a bit weird.
Why do they supply that stupid plastic bowel with the product?
People can just use a normal ceramic bowel from there kitchen.
Such a waste. Especially if you have long thick hair like mine.
I put my plastic thing in the bin.
Also if you do have thick hair and it is long like mine, the bottle would more than likely only last you two weeks and that's if your only washing your hair once a week.
So I would say it would cost me between £20 and £30 a month to use it on a regular basis.
I can get my roots done at the hairdressers for that and they will do a much better job and it will last longer.
The product did lighten up what I had all ready put in.
My husband said that the ginger in my hair is also a lot more visible now.
The company could 1. reduce plastic by removing the stupid plastic bowel out of the packet. If they do this, they can then use less packaging and hopefully they could then reduce the cost of the product.

7 deliveries of empty Rose toner, no response from their customer service and I still don’t have 1 bottle that I can use!!!

Ordered from Look Fantastic on the 20th November. Arrived empty. Contacted them and they sent out a replacement. Arrived empty and still awaiting a refund. I advised the batch code so they could contact Shrine. I imagine they didn’t!

Ordered direct from Shrine. Arrived empty. Got in touch and someone came back immediately and advised they would send out a replacement. I stated I needed next day delivery as I had already missed one Christmas party and was going away. Didn’t turn up at my parcel shop and when I tracked it, it says it’s on its way back. Even if it had been delivered, it wouldn’t be returned 2 days later.

Contacted Shrine 9 times now. No reply at all and no refund.

Ordered from Superdrug, Boots, Selfridges and Pampa and ALL OF THEM have arrived empty.

That is 7x delivery fees and currently waiting for 3 refunds, I still can’t dye my hair and Shrine will not get in touch to resolve and it’s ridiculous how there is no contact number.

Absolutely disgusting service.
